The Aharonov-Bohm effect (ABE) for steady magnetic fields is a well known phenomenon. However, if the current in the infinite solenoid that creates the magnetic field is time-dependent, that is in the presence of both magnetic and electric fields, there is no agreement whether the effect would be present. In this note, we try to investigate time varying ABE by a direct calculation in a set-up with a weak time dependent magnetic field. We find that the electric field arising out of the time-varying magnetic field in the path of the electrons does not enter the action integral but only changes the path of the electron from the source to the slits and then on to the detector. We find a frequency dependent AB phase shift. At low frequencies the result smoothly approaches the one for a constant field as the frequency tends towards zero. On the other hand, for high frequencies such that the AB-phase induced in the path of the wave packet oscillates rapidly, the net effect will be very small which is borne out by our results. 相似文献

The scaled factorial moments and the multifractal moments have been investigated in differentη-intervals to study the dynamical fluctuation of pions produced in 200 AGeV32S-Ag/Br interaction. X-ray absorption spectroscopy studies of the polycrystalline SrRu0.5Mn0.5O3 have been performed at Ru, Mn-L2,3 edges. The 2p-->t2g related peak at the Ru-L2 edge is more intense than the Ru-L3 edge and a shift of the 2p-->eg related peak by approximately 0.8 eV to higher energy than that of the Ru(IV) compound, SrRuO3 is observed. In combination with a crystal field multiplet calculation approach, a possible anomalous change in the spectral features is explained based on the existence of a redox ionic pair involving Ru(IV)/Ru(v)<-->Mn(III)/Mn(IV). 相似文献

A miscellany of results on the nonlinear instability and dynamics of finite difference discretizations of the Burgers and Kortweg de Vries equations is obtained using a variety of phase-plane, functional analytic, and regularity methods. For the semidiscrete (space-discrete, time-continuous) schemes, large-wave-numer instabilities occurring in special exact solutions are investigated, and parameter values for which the semidiscrete scheme is monotone are considered. For fully discrete schemes (space and time discrete), large-wave-number instabilities introduced by various time-stepping schemes such as forward Euler, leapfrog, and Runge–Kutta schemes are analyzed. Also, a time step restriction for the monotonicity of the forward-Euler time-stepping scheme, and regularity of a 4-stage monotone/conservative Runge–Kutta time stepping are investigated. Low's theorem is used to express the soft-photon structure function in terms of the single- and double-charged particle structure functions. With the simplifying assumption that asymptotically the hadronic particles cluster (in the c.m. frame) in sharp forward and backward cones, we obtain a simple explicit form for this soft bremsstrahlung structure function. Electronic structure methods based on density-functional theory, pseudopotentials, and local-orbital basis sets offer a hierarchy of techniques for modeling complex condensed-matter systems with a wide range of precisions and computational speeds. We analyze the relationships between the algorithms for atomic forces in this hierarchy of techniques, going from empirical tight-binding through ab initio tight-binding to full ab initio. The analysis gives a unified overview of the force algorithms as applied within techniques based either on diagonalization or on linear-scaling approaches. The use of these force algorithms is illustrated by practical calculations with the CONQUEST code, in which different techniques in the hierarchy are applied in a concerted manner. 相似文献
