We obtain, by extensive direct numerical simulations, time-dependent and equal-time structure functions for the vorticity, in both quasi-Lagrangian and Eulerian frames, for the direct-cascade regime in two-dimensional fluid turbulence with air-drag-induced friction. We show that different ways of extracting time scales from these time-dependent structure functions lead to different dynamic-multiscaling exponents, which are related to equal-time multiscaling exponents by different classes of bridge relations; for a representative value of the friction we verify that, given our error bars, these bridge relations hold.  相似文献

We present a natural framework for studying the persistence problem in two-dimensional fluid turbulence by using the Okubo-Weiss parameter Λ to distinguish between vortical and extensional regions. We then use a direct numerical simulation of the two-dimensional, incompressible Navier-Stokes equation with Ekman friction to study probability distribution functions (PDFs) of the persistence times of vortical and extensional regions by employing both Eulerian and Lagrangian measurements. We find that, in the Eulerian case, the persistence-time PDFs have exponential tails; by contrast, this PDF for Lagrangian particles, in vortical regions, has a power-law tail with an exponent θ=2.9±0.2.  相似文献

In this study, the urea dynamics inside AOT reverse micelle (RM) has been monitored without intervention of water using time-resolved fluorescence techniques from the picosecond to nanosecond time regime. It has been observed that urea dynamics inside the reverse micelle is severely retarded compared to water RM due to the formation of highly networked urea cluster inside the RM. Time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy study also confirms the existence of a confined environment around the dye at higher concentrations of urea inside the reverse micelle. The dynamics of urea-water mixtures inside AOT reverse micelle has also been monitored with increasing urea concentration to get insight about the effect of urea on the overall solvation dynamics feature. It has been observed that with the increase in urea concentration, the overall dynamics becomes slower, and it infers the presence of few water or urea molecules, those strongly associated with surrounding urea and (or) water by hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Experiments were carried out using a strong acid cation exchange resin with a particle size of 75–150 μm, termed as “fine resin” in hydrogen ion form for the elution of individual lanthanides Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy that are produced as fission products in the spent nuclear fuel and generated in the effluent during reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel. Batch experiments were carried out to study the effect of concentration of nitric acid on distribution coefficient. The distribution coefficient values for these individual lanthanides were determined in nitric acid medium in the concentration range of 0.01–4.0 N. Uptake of each individual lanthanide by resin was increased with increased nitric acid concentration from 0.01 to 0.5 N and remained similar from 0.5 to 1.0 N and decreased thereafter up to 4.0 N. Column experiments were also carried out using the same resin to study the parameters like pH of the eluent, flow rate, and resin bed height under isocratic elution conditions for eluting lanthanide elements using α‐hydroxyisobutyric acid as eluent. The results of this study have indicated the possibility for the elution of individual lanthanides.  相似文献

Langmuir monolayers of poly-N-vinyl carbazole (PNVK) were obtained by dispensing PNVK dissolved in tetrahydrofuran onto an air-water interface. Surface pressure-area isotherms of mixed monolayer of the PNVK were studied under different subphase conditions such as temperature and pH of the subphase. It was demonstrated that the monolayer of PNVK remained stable over a temperature range of 10–40°C. The area per molecule of the solid phase was found to be 31Å2. These monolayers were transferred onto indium-tin-oxide-coated glass plates and characterized by spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques.  相似文献

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have attracted attention due to their ordered pores leading to important industrial applications like storage and separation. Combined with their modular synthesis and pore engineering, COFs could become ideal candidates for nanoseparations. However, the fabrication of these microcrystalline powders as continuous, crack‐free, robust films remains a challenge. Herein, we report a simple, slow annealing strategy to construct centimeter‐scale COF films ( Tp‐Azo and Tp‐TTA ) with micrometer thickness. The as‐synthesized films are porous (SABET=2033 m2 g?1 for Tp‐Azo ) and chemically stable. These COFs have distinct size cut‐offs (ca. 2.7 and ca. 1.6 nm for Tp‐Azo and Tp‐TTA , respectively), which allow the size‐selective separation of gold nanoparticles. Unlike, other conventional membranes, the durable structure of the COF films allow for excellent recyclability (up to 4 consecutive cycles) and easy recovery of the gold nanoparticles from the solution.  相似文献

For an innovative product characterized by short product lifecycle and high demand uncertainty, investment in capacity buildup has to be done cautiously. Otherwise either the product’s market diffusion is impeded or the manufacturer is left with unutilized capacity. Using the right information for making capacity augmentation decisions is critical in facing this challenge. In this paper, we propose a method for identifying critical information flows using the system dynamics model of a two-echelon supply chain. The fundamental premise of system dynamics methodology is that (system) structure determines (its) behavior. Using loop dominance analysis method we study the feedback loop structure of the supply chain system. The outcome is a set of dominant loops that determine the dynamics of capacity growth. It is revealed that the delivery delay information has little effect while the loop that connects retail sales with production order affects the dynamics significantly. Modifying this loop yields appropriate capacity augmentation decisions resulting in higher performance. What-if analyses bring out effects of modifying other structural elements. In conclusion, we claim that the information feedback based methodology is general enough to be useful in designing decision support systems for capacity augmentation. The limitations of the model are also discussed and possible extensions identified.  相似文献

The complexation behavior of nicotinamide with macrocyclic polyethers viz, 15-crown-5, benzo-15-crown-5, 18-crown-6, dicyclohexano-18-crown-6, dibenzo-18-crown-6, dibenzo-24-crown-8, 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexathiacyclooctadecane, monoaza-15-crown-5, 1,4,10-trioxa-7,13-diaza-cyclopentadecane, 5,6,14,15-dibenzo-1,4-dioxa-8,12-diazacyclopentadecane, 7,16-dibenzyl-1,4,10,13-tetraoxa-7,16-diazacyclooctadecane, 1,4,7-tritosyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane, 1,4,7,10-tetratosyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane and 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclooctadecane has been studied in dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) and 90% DMSO + water using differential pulse polarography and complexation constants have been reported. Nicotinamide forms stable complexes with six-membered coronand rings of the crown ethers. The nature of the atoms (oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen) in the coronand ring is observed to affect the stability of the complex. The stoichiometry and stability constants of the complexes were determined by monitoring the shifts in peak potentials of the polarograms of nicotinamide against the ligand concentration. The Gibbs free energy change turns out to be negative at 25°C, which indicates the spontaneity of the binding of nicotinamide with crown ethers. The mole ratio of nicotinamide to the macrocyclic compound was also determined and it was found that the complexes were of 1:1 type with respect to crown ethers. The tendency of nicotinamide to form complexes with macrocycles is found to be greater in DMSO than in DMSO + water.  相似文献
