Several attempts have recently been made to point to ‘the proper place’ for hydrogen (sometimes also helium) in the Periodic Table of the elements. There are altogether five different types of arguments that lead to the following conclusions: (1) hydrogen should be placed in group 1, above lithium; (2) hydrogen should be placed in group 17, above fluorine; (3) hydrogen is to be placed in group 14, above carbon; (4) hydrogen should be positioned above both lithium and fluorine and (5) hydrogen should be treated as a stand-alone element, in the center of the Periodic Table. Although all proposals are based on arguments, not all of them sound equally convincing. An attempt is made, after critical reexamination of the arguments offered, to hopefully point to the best possible choice for the position of hydrogen. A few words are also mentioned on the structure of the Periodic Table and the (novel) attempts to reorganize it.  相似文献

In order to observe the influence of sodium chloride on the melting temperature of collagen crystalline region in three new parchments, samples were soaked in water (blanks) and NaCl solutions of different concentrations, then removed, dried in air and measured by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The melting temperature of crystalline region of collagen, T m, was determined as the minimum of the endothermal peak in the range 200–250 °C and as the inflection point of the decrease of storage modulus, respectively. There was observed a decrease in melting temperature of the salt-treated parchments compared to the samples soaked in water, sometimes significant (~20 °C) at certain concentrations of NaCl. Simultaneous TG/DTG/DSC thermal analysis (STA) was also applied for the determination of the amount of sodium chloride in salt-treated parchments, by calculating the mass loss due to the vaporization of NaCl, which occurs above 800 °C. By plotting T m determined by DSC and DMA versus the NaCl content of the samples, an apparent minimum is observed. Additional information regarding the structural features was also obtained through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and attenuated total reflection fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR). XRD data put in evidence the preservation of collagen crystalline region in all salt-treated samples, while FTIR measurements did not showed significant modification of collagen. By removing the sodium chloride from the salt-treated parchments through washing with water, there is a return of the melting temperatures to the values of blank samples, demonstrating the reversibility of this phenomenon.  相似文献

In this paper, a TG/DTG–DSC–FTIR study of type I collagen extracted from bovine Achilles tendon both in inert (nitrogen) and oxidative atmosphere (synthetic air and oxygen) from room temperature to 700 °C was performed. The thermal analysis results have shown that after initial dehydration, collagen exhibits a single decomposition step in nitrogen (due to pyrolysis), while in air and oxygen two steps are observed due to thermo-oxidative decomposition, the latter being highly exothermic. The CO2 bands dominate the FTIR spectra of evolved gases in all atmospheres (especially in air and oxygen), along with the characteristic bands of ammonia, water, HNCO, methane. In nitrogen, the bands of pyrrole, HCN, and ethane were also identified, while in oxidative atmospheres, nitrogen oxides and CO are released. A study was also performed by comparing the DTG and gas evolution curves observed for the three atmospheres.  相似文献

We show that anodic etching of n‐type ZnSe crystalline substrates leads to the formation of pores which, after nucleation at surface defects, prove to follow the current lines, exhibiting multiplication until the front of the porous network covers the whole available space. No growth of crystallographically oriented pores has been observed in ZnSe. The formation of multilayer porous structures is realized, including layers subjected to successive porosification at two different length scales. The electrochemical pulsed deposition of arrays of Pt nanotubes in the porous ZnSe matrix is demonstrated. The obtained results show that porous ZnSe structures are promising for use as conductive and optically transparent nanotemplates for nanofabrication, in particular for the important application of metal nanotubes. In this paper, we will present some coupled fixed point theorems on a metric space endowed with two b-metrics. The approach is based on the application of a fixed point theorem for an appropriate operator on the Cartesian product of the given spaces.
