The selective and efficient acetylation of the hemiacetal hydroxyl in the equilibrium mixture between RCl2C(OAll)OH and AllOH/RCl2CHO was achieved using the acylating system Ac2O/Et3N/dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP).

Reported here is the reduction of aromatic nitro compounds using sodium borohydride and transition metal sulfides as catalysts. The reaction conditions were optimized using the reduction of nitrobenzene as a model reaction. The catalysts studied were iron sulfide (Fe3S4), copper sulfide (CuS), zinc sulfide (ZnS), cobalt sulfide (Co3S4), and nickel sulfide (NiS). The reduction was monitored using gas chromatography. Quantitative conversions were achieved using Co3S4 and NiS, representing a ten-fold increase in reactivity compared to the non-catalyzed reaction. Fe3S4 and ZnS had no apparent effect on the reduction of nitrobenzene while the reduction using CuS showed a marginal increase. The reduction method was applied to several aryl-nitro derivatives containing either electron-withdrawing or electron-donating groups. Halogen containing aryl-nitro compounds were reduced without dehalogenation. The reduction had no effect on other functional groups such as carboxylic acids, esters, amides, or alkenes, indicating that the reduction is highly chemoselective.  相似文献

The structures of 4‐nitrobenzene‐1,2‐diamine [C6H7N3O2, (I)], 2‐amino‐5‐nitroanilinium chloride [C6H8N3O2+·Cl, (II)] and 2‐amino‐5‐nitroanilinium bromide monohydrate [C6H8N3O2+·Br·H2O, (III)] are reported and their hydrogen‐bonded structures described. The amine group para to the nitro group in (I) adopts an approximately planar geometry, whereas the meta amine group is decidedly pyramidal. In the hydrogen halide salts (II) and (III), the amine group meta to the nitro group is protonated. Compound (I) displays a pleated‐sheet hydrogen‐bonded two‐dimensional structure with R22(14) and R44(20) rings. The sheets are joined by additional hydrogen bonds, resulting in a three‐dimensional extended structure. Hydrohalide salt (II) has two formula units in the asymmetric unit that are related by a pseudo‐inversion center. The dominant hydrogen‐bonding interactions involve the chloride ion and result in R42(8) rings linked to form a ladder‐chain structure. The chains are joined by N—H...Cl and N—H...O hydrogen bonds to form sheets parallel to (010). In hydrated hydrohalide salt (III), bromide ions are hydrogen bonded to amine and ammonium groups to form R42(8) rings. The water behaves as a double donor/single acceptor and, along with the bromide anions, forms hydrogen bonds involving the nitro, amine, and ammonium groups. The result is sheets parallel to (001) composed of alternating R55(15) and R64(24) rings. Ammonium N—H...Br interactions join the sheets to form a three‐dimensional extended structure. Energy‐minimized structures obtained using DFT and MP2 calculations are consistent with the solid‐state structures. Consistent with (II) and (III), calculations show that protonation of the amine group meta to the nitro group results in a structure that is about 1.5 kJ mol−1 more stable than that obtained by protonation of the para‐amine group. DFT calculations on single molecules and hydrogen‐bonded pairs of molecules based on structural results obtained for (I) and for 3‐nitrobenzene‐1,2‐diamine, (IV) [Betz & Gerber (2011). Acta Cryst. E 67 , o1359] were used to estimate the strength of the N—H...O(nitro) interactions for three observed motifs. The hydrogen‐bonding interaction between the pairs of molecules examined was found to correspond to 20–30 kJ mol−1.  相似文献

A single multiblock copolymer chain in poor solvent undergoes microphase separation within its own globule, driven by the same kind of forces operating in the bulk system. However, the necessity of packing a large AB interface into a small volume leads to novel convoluted geometries. Long block lengths form a double droplet. Very short block lengths exhibit bulk behavior, forming a lamellar globule. With intermediate block lengths, the AB interface buckles to form a hand shake or spiral dicluster. An order-disorder transition is reported for short block lengths.  相似文献

EBC‐162 isolated from Croton insularis, obtained from the northern rainforest of Australia, was structurally affirmed as crotofolin C ( 4 ). Novel oxidative degradation products, EBC‐233 and EBC‐300, which are the first crotofolane endoperoxides, were also isolated. Both endoperoxides were found to be stable intermediates, which are proposed to undergo an unprecedented homo‐Baeyer–Villiger biosynthetic rearrangement to give a new class of 1,14‐seco‐crotofolane diterpenes. Prolonged storage of all isolates assisted in authenticating their natural product status. Anticancer activities of reported compounds are presented.  相似文献

Structurally unique halimanes EBC-232 and EBC-323, isolated from the Australian rainforest plant Croton insularis, proved considerably difficult to elucidate. The two diastereomers, which consist an unusual oxo-6,7-spiro ring system fused to a dihydrofuran, were solved by unification and consultation of five in silico NMR elucidation and prediction methods [i.e., ACDLabs, olefin strain energy (OSE), DP4, DU8+ and TD DFT CD]. Structure elucidation challenges of this nature are prime test case examples for empowering future AI learning in structure elucidation.  相似文献

We introduce a model for a pair of nonlinear evolving networks, defined over a common set of vertices, subject to edgewise competition. Each network may grow new edges spontaneously or through triad closure. Both networks inhibit the other?s growth and encourage the other?s demise. These nonlinear stochastic competition equations yield to a mean field analysis resulting in a nonlinear deterministic system. There may be multiple equilibria; and bifurcations of different types are shown to occur within a reduced parameter space. This situation models competitive communication networks such as BlackBerry Messenger displacing SMS; or instant messaging displacing emails.  相似文献

In the pea plant ( Pisum sativum ), compounds that intercalate into DNA induce the production of ∼20 major proteins similar to the pattern induced during nonhost disease resistance to the bean fungal pathogen, Fusarium solani f.sp. phaseoli . The pea phytoalexin, pisatin, as well as RNA homologous to several disease-resistance response (DRR) genes accumulate following treatment with these compounds. Psoralen was chosen to characterize this interaction further because it intercalates into DNA and, following irradiation with 365 nm UV light (UV365), forms covalent bonds with pyrimidines on either or both strands of DNA. This produces monoadducts or cross-links, respectively. Dose experiments showed that 60 μg/mL 4'-aminomethyl-4,5',8-trimethylpsoralen followed by 18 J/cm2 UV365 was sufficient to produce an accumulation of pisatin similar to that produced in response to the fungus. Under these inducing conditions, there was an average of 0.19 adducts per kb of pea genomic DNA. The accumulation of pisatin and the RNA of several DRR genes by psoralen required photoactivation, which suggests that covalent binding to DNA was necessary for induction. As the promoters of several putative fungal-induced pea genes contain long stretches of d(AT)n, which is the preferred psoralen photobinding site, restriction fragments spanning DRR genes were examined after in vivo psoralen treatment. The rate of crosslinking was compared between fungal-induced and noninduced genes using a modified Southern blot analysis. Implications of the induction of the DRR due to psoralen binding are discussed.  相似文献

A straightforward preparation has been found for bis(dichlorosilyl)methylamine, (SiHCl2)2NMe ( 1 ), involving reaction between H2NMe and an excess of SiHCl3, dissolved either in pentane or THF at 253 K. 1 and a side‐product, 1,3,5‐trichloro‐2,4,6‐trimethylcyclotrisilazane, (–SiHCl–NMe–)3 ( 2 ), were identified by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry and 1H‐NMR‐spectroscopy. Some physical, NMR‐ and IR spectroscopical properties of 1 were determined. The molecular and crystal structure of 1 was investigated by single crystal X‐ray diffraction. Selected structural parameters: r(Si–N) 169.7(5), r(Si–Cl) 203.1(2)–204.4(2), r(C–N) 150.0(8) pm; a(SiNSi) 123.6(3), a(SiNC) 118.3(4)/118.0(4)°. Ab initio force field data and infrared intensities were calculated for four conformers of 1 . Comparison of the observed and calculated IR spectra favours the two structures found ab initio provided that their actual abundancies are different from those calculated.  相似文献
