12CaO·7Al2O3 (C12A7) with a unique nano-porous structure and free O2? ions entrapped in sub-nanometer-sized cages is a fast oxygen-ion-conducting material. These free O2– may be replaced by various oxygen-related species, OH?, O2? and O?, by tuning the atmosphere during the heat treatment. We examined the conduction mechanism for stoichiometric C12A7 (C12A7:O2?), in which O2? ions exist as counter anions in sub-nanometer-sized cages, by Raman measurement of C12A7:O2? annealed in a dry 18O2 atmosphere. It was revealed that the primary ion conducting species is an O2? ion which diffuses via exchange with O2? in the cage wall. An experimental result on the sample containing O? ions implied that O? is more mobile than O2? in C12A7. Ab initio calculations on the diffusion paths of O2? and O? ions in C12A7 supported the above experimental results.  相似文献

Porcine neuromedin U-8 (X-Asn-NH(2), X=H-Tyr-Phe-Leu-Phe-Arg-Pro-Arg) is occasionally unstable in the biological fluids used for bioassay as well as in the acidic solutions used for purification of synthetic peptides. In this study, HPLC examination of an incubate solution of X-Asn-NH(2) revealed that the main decomposition products in Tyrode's solution (pH 7.4) were either alpha- or beta-monocarboxylic acid analogs (X-Asn-OH or X-Asp-NH(2)), and that no dicarboxylic acid analog (X-Asp-OH) was produced. Further investigation, employing a model peptide (Y-Asn-NH(2), Y=Benzoyl-Pro-Arg) incubated in a 0.1 M sodium bicarbonate solution at 60 degrees C, revealed that the decomposition of C-terminal Asn-NH(2) occurred through the formation of an aminosuccinimide intermediate (Y-Asu), at a rate faster than that of Y-Asn-Ser peptide but slower than that of Y-Asn-Gly peptide. Mild acid hydrolysis of X-Asn-NH(2) examined in a 1 M HCl solution at 60 degrees C yielded X-Asn-OH and X-Asp-NH(2), which further decomposed to yield X-Asp-OH. The C-terminal degradation of X-Asn-NH(2) resulted in reduced biological and immunochemical binding activities.  相似文献

A catalytic spectrophotometric method for the determination of traces of copper(II) is proposed. 3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone (MBTH) is oxidized by hydrogen peroxide to form a yellowish-brown compound. The reaction is accelerated by trace amounts of copper(II), and can be followed by measuring the increase in the absorbance at 390 nm. Since the absorbance at 40 min from the reaction start increases with an increase in the copper(II) concentration, the absorbance value is used as a parameter for copper(II) determination. Under the optimum experimental conditions (8.4 x 10(-3) mol dm(-3) MBTH, 0.7 mol dm(-3) hydrogen peroxide, pH 5.2, 35 degrees C), copper(II) can be determined in the range 0-50 microg dm(-3). The relative standard deviations are 6.9, 3.5, 2.7% for 2, 20 and 40 microg dm(-3), respectively. The detection limit of this method (3sigma) is 0.27 microg dm(-3). It was successfully applied to a determination of copper(II) in river water, tap water and ground-water samples. According to the results of a kinetic study, a mechanism is proposed which leads to the following rate equation: R0(cat) = kK1K2[MBTH][H2O2][Cu(II)]0/{(1 + K2[H2O2])[H+]}.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity of hybrid films consisting of polyacrylonitrile (PAN), ethylene carbonate (EC), and LiClO4 was investigated. In these films, EC and LiClO4 are found to be molecularly dispersed in PAN, forming solid solutions over a wide composition range. The ionic character of the electrical conductivity is demonstrated. The conductivity is not correlated with the content of LiClO4 or of PAN, but primarily with the mole ratio [EC]/[LiClO4] in the films. An increase in the [EC]/[LiClO4] ratio enhances the conductivity. When the ratio is about 2, the conductivity attains 10?4–10?5 S cm?1 at 25°C. This change in conductivity results from a change in carrier mobility. PAN makes the films solid without decreasing the carrier mobility. In the hybrid films, the carrier mobility and the macroscopic viscosity are not related by Walden's rule. The high conductivity is due to regions in the film characterized by a low microscopic viscosity. This is determined by the mole ratio [EC]/[LiClO4] and largely controls the carrier mobility.  相似文献

12CaO·7Al2O3 (C12A7, mayenite), which has a nanoscale porous structure that can accommodate extraframework species such as hydride (H), oxide (O2−), hydroxide (OH) ions, and electrons, has been doped with H ions to investigate its effects as dominant extraframework species. Chemical doping with CaH2 enables the concentration of H ions to reach almost the theoretical maximum. The concentration of H ions is characterized by optical absorption intensity ascribed to photoionization of H ions, and 1H magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) spectroscopy. Persistent electron generation, which is accompanied by the formation of an F+ absorption band and electrical conductivity, by irradiation with ultraviolet light at room temperature increases as the H ion doping increases until it reaches half the theoretical maximum and then decreases as the H ion concentration increases further. This dependence indicates that both H and O2− ions are necessary for the generation of persistent electrons.  相似文献

Let X be an infinite, locally connected, locally compact separable metrizable space. The space C(X) of real-valued continuous functions defined on X with the compact-open topology is a separable Fréchet space, so it is homeomorphic to the psuedo-interior s = (−1, 1) of the Hilbert cube Q = [−1, 1]. The 12CaO.7Al2O3 (C12A7) crystal with a nanoporous lattice framework exhibits high electrical conductivity with an activation energy of approximately 1.5 eV when equilibrated in a hydrogen atmosphere above approximately 800 degrees C. The high conductivity is preserved in a quenched state below approximately 600 degrees C with a reduced activation energy of approximately 0.8 eV. Such complex behavior in electrical conductivity is associated with incorporation of hydride ions (H-) in cages of the lattice framework. Electromotive force measurements reveal that the major carrier for the conductivity is electron with a small contribution by proton (H+), ruling out the possibility of direct intercage migration of the H- ion. A combination of these observations with the ab initio calculations leads to the conclusion that the electrons are thermally generated from the H- ion by the dissociation into two electrons and an proton, which is further converted to an OH- ion via reaction with an extraframework oxide ion (O2-). The energy difference between the initial (H- + O2-) and the final (2e- + OH-) states as evaluated by the theoretical calculation is as small as approximately 1 eV, which agrees well with an experimentally obtained enthalpy change, approximately 1.4 eV. Thus, internal equilibration between the extraframework hydrogen and the oxygen species is responsible for the thermal generation of the carrier electron. It is also suggested that the same conductive (2e- + OH-) state is reached by the photoirradiation of H- -containing C12A7. In this case the photoionization of H- forms an electron and an Ho atom, which then forms an OH- ion and another electron with thermal assistance. The persistence of photoinduced conductivity is explained by the slow kinetics of the reverse process at room temperature.  相似文献
