Most materials exhibit a change in stress-strain relationship when subjected to fatigue stresses. In this work, the effect of this change on the stress distribution across the throat of notched-plate specimens of mild steel is examined. Using a set of strain gages, the strain distribution across the specimens was determined under dynamic conditions for various numbers of cycles. Tests of unnotched specimens were used to obtain the cyclic stress-strain properties for corresponding numbers of cycles, and from these data the stress distribution in the notched specimens was determined. Tests in which the strain amplitude at the notch root was held constant revealed a decreasing maximum stress with fatigue cycles. In another series of tests, in which the load amplitude was constant, the maximum stress amplitude was observed to decrease with number of fatigue cycles, despite an increasing strain amplitude. In both types of tests, the stress-concentration factor was observed to decrease with increasing number of fatigue cycles.  相似文献

A generalization of the existence conditions for homogeneous flows of a rarefied monatomic gas mixture [2, 3] to the case where external forces are present is presented in [1]. Below we obtain for this case the solution of the Cauchy problem for the Boltzmann equation under free molecular (collisionless) conditions, when the collision integrals may be neglected (Knudsen number K 1). On the basis of this solution we construct a general solution for the equations of the kinetic moments of a Maxwellian monatomic gas mixture in the form of a series in inverse powers of K. Some additional remarks are made concerning the properties of the solutions of the second-order kinetic moment equations, and on the applicability of the Grad 13-moment equations and the Chapman-Enskog method [in particular, for the calculation of slow (Stokesian) motions of a gas mixture].The authors wish to thank M. This paper is based on the work of Green & Laws who have given a general thermodynamical theory of rods which is valid for any material. Here, starting with the general non-linear theory of elastic rods, we derive a linear theory allowing for thermal effects. The resulting free energy as a quadratic function of kinematic variables is restricted by certain symmetry conditions. The basic equations then separate into four groups, two for flexure, one for torsion and one for extension of the rod with temperature effects occurring only in the latter group. Wave propagation along an infinite rod is considered. There are two wave speeds for each type of flexure, two for torsion and three for isothermal extension and all wave speeds depend on the wave length.  相似文献

By the regression analysis of dependences of the adsorption potential shift (E ads) on the electrode charge in systems (Tl-Ga)/[NMF + 0.1m M KI + 0.1(1 ? m) M KClO4], (Tl-Ga)/[NMF + 0.1m M KBr + 0.1(1 ? m) M KClO4], and (Tl-Ga)/[NMF + 0.1m M KCl + 0.1(1 ? m) M KClO4] with the following m fractions of the surface-active anion: 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, and 1, the adsorption parameters are calculated in terms of two models based on the Frumkin isotherm both considering the free adsorption energy as a quadratic function of the electrode charge, where one model takes into account the diffuse layer and the other ignores it. It is shown that for the studied electrode charges q ≤ 2 μC/cm2, both models provide equal accuracy in calculating E ads in the systems under study.  相似文献

The electrochemical behavior of platinized Ebonex® was studied. The electrochemical and semiconductor properties of electrodes can be varied within wide limits by thermal treatment of Ebonex®/Pt, which selectively affects the electrocatalytic activity of anodes in the oxygen evolution reaction. The reduction peak of platinum oxides on the cyclic voltammetry (CV) curves can be used as a correlation parameter when evaluating the electrocatalytic activity of Ebonex®/Pt electrodes in the oxygen evolution reaction.  相似文献

The surface and electrochemical properties of polypropylene track membrane treated by plasma of nitrogen, air, and oxygen are studied. The effect of the plasma-forming gas composition on the surface morphology is considered. The membrane surface microrelief formed during the gas-discharge etching is found to change. Moreover, the non-polymerizing gas plasma treatment induces oxidation of the membrane surface layer and generates oxygen-containing functional groups, mostly carbonyl and carboxyl. The higher membrane roughness and its hydrophilization is shown to lead to its better wettability. In addition, the presence of polar groups in the membrane surface layer modifies its hydrodynamic and electrochemical properties so that water permeability and conductivity of modified membranes increase.  相似文献

Diphenyl diselenide reacts with O,O-dialkyl and alkylene dithiophosphoric acids in equimolar amounts in refluxing benzene to yield Ph 2 Se 2 HS 2 P(OR) 2 , R = Et, Pr-n, Pr-i, Bu-i and Ph, and Ph 2 Se 2 HS 2 POGO where G = CH 2 CMe 2 CH 2 m , --CH 2 CEt 2 CH 2 m , and --CMe 2 CMe 2 m . The complexes are sticky solids, soluble in common organic solvents and monomeric in nature. These have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, UV, IR, and NMR ( 1 H, 13 C, and 31 P NMR). Spectral data reveal addition of dithiophosphate moieties to Ph 2 Se 2 .  相似文献
