Stripping of deuterons with 2·45 GeV/c momentum in nuclear emulsion

This paper is concerned with the evaluation of the cross-section (d, p) of the stripping due to collision of a fast-deuteron beam with atom nuclei forming a photographic nuclear emulsion without evaporation of nuclei. The cross-section was estimated using the deuteron mean free path with respect to mentioned reactions. The deuteron track on which the stripping reaction took place was identified according to the change of the characteristic of multiple scattering. Corrections were taken for the primary-beam impurities and for the length of each track where reaction was nor identifiable.Devoted to Professor V. Petrílka on his sixty-fifth birthday.     

ПЕРИФЕРИЧЕСКИЕ NN-ВЗАИ МОДЕЙСТВИЯ ПРИ БОЛЬШ ИХ ЭНЕРГИЯХ

A method for accounting the kinematic dependence of full cross-sections of the N reactions on the virtualess by one-meson approximation is proposed. Results of the computation for 9 GeV NN reactions are given.     

Separation and identification of aliphatic amine derivatives with a new fluorescent reagent using high-performance liquid chromatography and thin-layer chromatography

Summary The use of 1,2-naphthoylenebenzimidazole-6-sulphochloride has been proposed as the reagent for derivatization of aliphatic amines prior to their separation, identification and quantitation both in HPLC and in TLC. The reaction of amines with this compound is quantitative and highly fluorescent derivatives are formed that provide favourable detection limits and sensitivity as compared to Dansyl derivatives of aliphatic amines. Actual detection limits achieved correspond to ca. 10^–10 mol of the amine in a spot after elution from the thin-layer plate and to ca. 5·10^–14 mol of the amine in a sample volume of 10 l injected into the liquid chromatograph. The use of this derivatization reagent offers good potential for the analysis of trace amounts of amines in environmental samples and in biological material.Presented at the 14th International Symposium on Chromatography London, September, 1982     

The Ramsey property for graphs with forbidden complete subgraphs

The following theorem is proved: Let G be a finite graph with cl(G) = m, where cl(G) is the maximum size of a clique in G. Then for any integer r ≥ 1, there is a finite graph H, also with cl(H) = m, such that if the edges of H are r-colored in any way, then H contains an induced subgraph G′ isomorphic to G with all its edges the same color.     

Plasma lenses

An analysis is presented of the possibilites of focusing the microwave energy by means of a magnetoactive plasma. The basic parameters of a plasma lens are calculated, and the way a magnetoactive plasma may be used in the making of lenses with a variable focal length is pointed out.     

A survey of symmetry point groups and characters of its irreducible representations

In this paper the character tables of irreducible representations of discrete symmetry point groups of general order are arranged.
