High-frequency wave packets in inhomogeneous plasma with striction nonlinearity

The study of the evolution of 1 —D intense high-frequency (HF) packets in a smoothly inhomogeneous plane-layer medium with local and nonlocal striction nonlinearities is reviewed. Study of167 Yb levels excited in the decay of167Lu

The¹⁶⁷Lu source was isolated from products of spallation reaction induced by 660 MeV protons on tantalum target. The direct and the prompt coincidence spectra of gamma rays from the¹⁶⁷Lu decay have been studied with different Ge(Li) detectors. Half-lives of several excited states in¹⁶⁷Yb have been measured using the delayed coincidence technique. The internal conversion spectra were investigated with Si(Li) detector and with permanent magnet spectrograph as well. The energies and intensities of more than 400 gamma-transitions were determined. The multipolarities of 225 gamma-transitions were established. The proposed decay scheme of the¹⁶⁷Lu is based on coincidence measurements, the analysis of energy sums and reaction data. The states in¹⁶⁷Yb are interpreted in terms of the unified model. The role of the Coriolis coupling is discussed.     

Chemically nonequilibrium laminar boundary layer in dissociated air

A difference scheme which permits computation without change in grid parameters over the entire range from equilibrium to frozen flow regimes is used to solve the equations of the chemically non-equilibrium boundary layer. Results are presented for the boundary layer in a mixture of N, O, NO, O₂, and N₂ with account for six reactions in the gaseous phase.In conclusion, I wish to thank G. I. Petrov, under whose guidance this study was carried out.     

The excited states of 85Sr

High resolution γ-ray studies have shown the decay patterns of isomers of ⁸⁵Y to be very complex. A level scheme of ⁸⁵Sr is proposed from the results of γ-γ coincidence measurements. Spin and parity assignments to the levels of ⁸⁵Sr were made on the basis of log ft values, nuclear reaction data and γ-ray branchings. The level scheme is discussed within the theoretical framework of $\text{n(}\text{g}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>9</mtext><mtext>2</mtext>}}\text{)}{}^{\mathrm{?3}}$ cluster properties.
