The differential cross-section of electron Raman scattering and the Raman gain arecalculated and analysed in the case of prismatic quantum dots with equilateral trianglebase shape. The study takes into account their dependencies on the size of the triangle,the influence of externally applied electric field as well as the presence of an ionizeddonor center located at the triangle’s orthocenter. The calculations are made within theeffective mass and parabolic band approximations, with a diagonalization scheme beingapplied to obtain the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the x-y Hamiltonian. The incidentand secondary (scattered) radiation have been considered linearly-polarized along they-direction, coinciding with the direction of theapplied electric field. For the case with an impurity center, Raman scattering with theintermediate state energy below the initial state one has been found to show maximumdifferential cross-section more than by an order of magnitude bigger than that resultingfrom the scheme with lower intermediate state energy. The Raman gain has maximum magnitudearound 35 nm dot size andelectric field of 40 kV/cm forthe case without impurity and at maximum considered values of the input parameters for thecase with impurity. Values of Raman gain of the order of up to 104cm-1 are predicted in bothcases.  相似文献

Light-activated antimicrobial coatings were obtained by the covalently immobilizing photo-sensitizers in a hybrid organic/inorganic matrix. These coatings were deposited via sol-gel chemistry using epoxy and methyl functional silanes. The light-activated chromophores used in this study were Methylene Blue, Toluidine Blue O, and Rose Bengal. The immobilized photo-sensitizers did not leach from the coatings. The mechanically durable hybrid coatings comprising 2.5% by weight of Rose Bengal had a good adhesion to the glass surface. These coatings were tested for the photo-deactivation of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus using illumination by a commercial fluorescent lamp. Log reduction of E. coli and S. aureus were >4 when illuminated by the fluorescent lamp in 1 and 3?h, respectively. Due to its high mechanical durability and chemical resistance, such light-activated hybrid coatings are promising candidates for indoor applications in healthcare facilities.  相似文献

Varying amounts of nitric acid catalyst, water and ethyl alcohol were used in the preparation of SiO2 sols by hydrolysis and condensation reactions of tetraethyl orthosilicate in a one step acid catalysis process. Hydrolysis of TEOS was followed by FT-IR analyses. Size of SiO2 particles was seen to vary in 8–41 nm range with respect to changing HNO3 and water amounts in the sols. Gelation occurred in some systems. Surfaces of films were examined by FESEM and AFM, after coating on glass substrates by dip coating. Thicknesses of the films were measured to be in the range of 80–120 nm. 5.6 ± 0.2% point increase in light transmittance was obtained when HNO3/TEOS (mol/mol) ratio of 4.74 × 10? 4 and H2O/TEOS (mol/mol) ratio of 9.08 were utilized. Sols were found to be stable for months and coatings prepared after 45 days still provided 5.2 ± 0.2% point increase in light transmittance.  相似文献

This paper describes the preparation and characterization of glass films consisting of SiO2, Li2O, Na2O, K2O or MgO in varying compositions on stainless steel and aluminum substrates by sol–gel method. Silver phosphate or silver incorporated zeolite was also introduced into the sols for obtaining antibacterial effect. The SiO2/Li2O/Na2O system having the composition of 85:5:10 wt% was found as the optimum for obtaining a stable sol and film formation. The films were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron dispersive analysis by X-ray (EDX), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). Homogenous films having 300 ± 20 nm thicknesses were formed by spin coating and then by curing at 500 °C for 1 h. Obtained films had high adherence to the metal substrates and they were also durable in acidic, basic or NaCl environments. They also presented a powerful antibacterial effect against E. coli.  相似文献

In this study, the total phenolic contents and total antioxidant capacities of some commercial bitter melon products (powder, packaged powder, capsule, paste in olive oil), and of unripe and ripe fruits were determined by spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods. The total antioxidant capacities of unripe and ripe bitter melon samples, determined by using the CUPRAC (cupric reducing antioxidant capacity assay) and ABTS (2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazolin-6-sulfonic acid))/HRP (horseradish peroxidase) methods, were 42.5 and 36.3 µmol TRE (Trolox equivalent) g–1, and 8.7 and 7.0 µmol TRE g–1, respectively. The TAC (total antioxidant capacity) order of the studied samples using the same 2 methods were determined as follows: capsule (CUPRAC value, 140.8; ABTS/HRP value, 143.6 µmol TRE g–1) > packaged powder (129.6; 126.1) > powder (52.3; 64.3) > unripe fruit (42.5; 36.3) > paste in olive oil (17.6; 14.4) > ripe fruit (8.7; 7.0). The order of phenolic content was found as follows: unripe fruit (193.2 µmol GAE (gallic acid equivalent) g-1) > capsule (162.0) > packaged powder (160.6) > powder (83.6) > paste in olive oil (38.3) > ripe fruit (14.6).  相似文献

A hydrogen ion-selective poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode was constructed using 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetracyanomethoxycalix[4]arene as a neutral carrier. The electrode showed an apparent Nernstian response in the 2-11.5 pH range with a slope of 54.0 +/- 0.2 mV/pH at 20 +/- degrees C. This electrode showed a rapid response of the emf to changes in the pH, high ion selectivity with respect to lithium, sodium and potassium, and characteristics similar to those reported for the conventional pH glass membrane electrode. It can be used as a potentiometric indicator electrode in hydrofluoric acid solutions. The effects of iodide, thiocyanate, perchlorate and bromide on the characteristics of the electrode were also considered.  相似文献

In this paper, it is proved that the surfaces of positive curvature with no umbilical points in 3-dimensional Euclidean space whose characteristic curves form a Tchebychef net are translation surfaces and that the characteristic curves are represented on the unit sphere by a rhombic net. The determination of these surfaces depends on two elliptic integrals of the first kind. Furthermore, the case where these elliptic integrals reduce to elementary integrals is studied and it is shown that the surfaces corresponding to this case belong to one of the following two classes: (a) Translation surfaces of positive curvature with plane characteristic curves as generators lying in two planes intersecting each other under a constant angle. The special case where these planes are perpendicular gives an analogue of the Scherk's minimal surfaces of translation. (b) Translation surfaces of revolution of positive curvature with characteristic curves as generators which are circular helices.  相似文献
