Using spinel‐type Li(Mn1.5Ni0.5)O4 with two different cations, Mn and Ni, in the oxygen octahedra as a model system, we show that a cation ordering transition takes place through the formation of Frenkel‐type point defects. A series of experimental results based on atomic‐scale observations and in situ powder diffractions along with ab initio calculations consistently support such defect‐mediated transition behavior. In addition to providing a precise suggestion of the intermediate transient states and the resulting kinetic pathway during the transition between two phases, our findings emphasize the significant role of point defects in ordering transformation of complex oxides. 相似文献

In the present study a variational principle is proposed for the revised Goodman–Cowin theory with internal length for cohesionless granular materials (Fang et al. in Continuum Mech Thermodyn in press). The balance equations of the internal variables employed in the theory in equilibrium states, the equilibrium expressions of the constitutive variables and the corresponding natural boundary conditions are derived by use of the proposed variational principle for both cases of compressible and incompressible grains. It is demonstrated that the derived results coincide with those obtained by use of the thermodynamic analysis. The current work serves as a supplementary variational verification of the constitutive theory proposed in Fang et al. (in Continuum Mech Thermodyn in press). 相似文献

An experimental study has been made in a nearly two-dimensional 90° curved duct to investigate the effects of interaction between streamline curvature and mean strain on the evolution of turbulence. The initial uniform shear at the entrance to the curved duct was varied by an upstream shear generator to produce five different shear conditions; a uniform flow (UF), a positive weak shear (PW), a positive strong shear (PS), a negative weak shear (NW) and a negative strong shear (NS). The variations of surface pressure and the mean velocity profiles along the downstream direction under different initial shears are carefully measured. The responses of turbulent Reynolds stresses and triple velocity products to the curvature and the mean strain are also investigated. The evolution of turbulence under the curvature with the different shear conditions is described in terms of the turbulent kinetic energy and the various length scales vs the angular distance θ or a curvature parameters S c which is defined by S c = (U/R)/(dU/dy- U/R). The results show that the turbulent kinetic energy and the integral length scale are augmented when S c < 0.054 whereas they are suppressed when S c > 0.054. It is also observed that the micro-length scales of Taylor and Kolmogoroff are relatively insensitive to the curvature. 相似文献

Poly[3,3-bis(chloromethyl)] oxetane in vacuo, after λ-irradiation at 77°K and room temperature, showed ESR spectra consisting of a triplet (hfs of 22.0G) and a doublet (hfs of 17.8G), respectively. The triplet ESR spectrum is attributed to the -CH2-C(CH2Cl)-CH2 -O- radical and the doublet ESR spectrum is attributed to the -CH2-C(CH2Cl)2-CH-O- radical. The root of Smilax china L. is used in traditional Korean medicine. We found that the Smilax china L. root extract has strong antimicrobial activity against two Cutibacterium acnes strains (KCTC 3314 and KCTC 3320). The aim of this study was to identify the beneficial properties of Smilax china L. extracts for their potential use as active ingredients in cosmetics for the treatment of human skin acne. The high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC/QTOF/MS) methods were used to obtain the profile of secondary metabolites from the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction of the crude extract. Agar diffusion and resazurin-based broth microdilution assays were used to evaluate antimicrobial activity and minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC), respectively. Among the 24 metabolites, quercetin, resveratrol, and oxyresveratrol were the most potent compounds against Cutibacterium acnes. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of quercetin, resveratrol, and oxyresveratrol were 31.25, 125, and 250 μg/mL, respectively. 相似文献

Oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy (OIPN) is a serious side effect that impairs the quality of life of patients treated with the chemotherapeutic agent, oxaliplatin. The underlying pathophysiology of OIPN remains unclear, and there are no effective therapeutics. This study aimed to investigate the causal relationship between spinal microglial activation and OIPN and explore the analgesic effects of syringaresinol, a phytochemical from the bark of Cinnamomum cassia, on OIPN symptoms. The causality between microglial activation and OIPN was investigated by assessing cold and mechanical allodynia in mice after intrathecal injection of the serum supernatant from a BV-2 microglial cell line treated with oxaliplatin. The microglial inflammatory response was measured based on inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (p-ERK), and phosphorylated nuclear factor-kappa B (p-NF-κB) expression in the spinal dorsal horn. The effects of syringaresinol were tested using behavioral and immunohistochemical assays. We found that oxaliplatin treatment activated the microglia to increase inflammatory responses, leading to the induction of pain. Syringaresinol treatment significantly ameliorated oxaliplatin-induced pain and suppressed microglial expression of inflammatory signaling molecules. Thus, we concluded that the analgesic effects of syringaresinol on OIPN were achieved via the modulation of spinal microglial inflammatory responses. 相似文献

Allergic inflammation is a T helper 2 (Th2) cell-driven pathophysiological phenomenon, but the mechanism by which the metabolic cascade affects Th2 cell differentiation remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the roles of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and intracellular energy sensors in Th2 cell differentiation and the pathogenesis of allergic inflammation. Accordingly, T-cell-specific AMPK or Sirtuin 1 (Sirt1)-knockout mice were subjected to allergic inflammation, and their Th2 cell responses were investigated. The results demonstrated that inducing allergic inflammation in AMPK- and Sirt1-knockout mice increased Th2 cell responses and exacerbated allergic phenotypes. Furthermore, treatment with 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide (AICAR), an activator of AMPK, ameliorated allergic inflammation in mice. Mechanistically, our findings revealed that AMPK repressed mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 2 (mTORC2), which downregulated the expression of suppressor of cytokine signaling 5 (SOCS5) in CD4+ T cells. In addition, the loss of AMPK signaling reduced SOCS5 expression and increased interleukin-4-STAT6–GATA3 axis-mediated Th2 cell differentiation. Finally, the T-cell-specific deletion of Rictor, a member of mTORC2, in Sirt1T-KO mice led to the reversal of allergic exacerbation to the level in control mice. Overall, our findings suggest that AMPK in CD4+ T cells inhibits the differentiation of Th2 cells by repressing mTORC2 and thus serves as a potential target for Th2 cell-associated diseases.Subject terms: Lymphocytes, Inflammation 相似文献
