The application of a high pulse repetition rate CO2 laser with high average power for isotope separation by molecular dissociation in a strong IR field

Considering a SF₆ molecule we demonstrate feasibility of using high pulse repetition rate CO₂ laser for isotope separation by selective molecular dissociation in a strong IR field. Dependences of dissociation efficiency as well as separation selectivity on pulse repetition rate up to 150 Hz are investigated. The inherent thermal effects are discussed.     

Growth of large KDP single crystals for UV spectrum range

The influence of various technological parameters of crystallization (acidity of growth solutions, crystallization temperature, growth rate, degree of solution purification) on the optical absorption of large KDP single crystals has been studied in the UV range of the spectrum. It is shown that the method of solvent recirculation with the use of the starting material with the microimpurity content not exceeding 5 × 10^?5 wt % and solution ultrafiltration under the optimum crystallization conditions (t_cr = 80°C, V_cr ～ (0.8–1.6) × 10^?6 cm/s, pH 4) enables one to grow KDP single crystals with cross sections up to 300 × 300 mm² and the transmission in the vicinity of the fundamental absorption edge λ = 200 nm) equal to 86%.

Information communication platform for the NBIC center at the Russian Research Center Kurchatov Institute

The problems of developing a unified information communication platform for the Nano-, Bio-, Info-, and Cognitive (NBIC) Technology Center at the Russian Research Center (RRC) Kurchatov Institute are considered. The distributed resources of the NBIC center are used based on grid technologies, which allow one to construct a distributed infrastructure on the basis of existing data transfer networks and computer equipment in accordance with the user’s requirements. This infrastructure makes it possible to uniformly offer combined computational resources for various scientific calculations and allows distant users to visually operate with very large amounts of data, high-resolution video streams, experimental equipment, and archival data sets.
