A193Ir Mössbauer study of Pt−Ir catalysts prepared by impregnantion of silica with H2MCl6

The state of iridium on Pt?Ir catalysts prepared by impregnation of amorphous silica with H₂IrCl₆ and H₂PtCl₆ was studied by¹⁹³Ir Mössbauer spectroscopy after different steps of preparation. The Ir is adsorbed in its trivalent state, presumably as [IrCl₆]^3?. Calcination in air at 450°C converts this to IrO₂. The metallic clusters formed by subsequent reduction in H₂ at 200°C show a strong tendency towards segregation of Ir and Pt and re-oxidize partially when exposed to air at ambient temperature. In both respects the behaviour is similar to that of samples prepared by co-exchange from [Ir(NH₃)₅Cl]Cl₂ and Pt(NH₃)₄Cl₂. H₂O.     

Experimental study of the inclusiveη-spectrum fromp \bar p annihilations at rest in liquid hydrogen

The inclusive η-momentum spectrum from \(\bar p\) annihilations at rest in liquid hydrogen was measured at LEAR. Branching ratios were obtained for $$\begin{gathered} p\bar p \to \eta \omega \left( {1.04_{ - 0.10}^{ + 0.09} } \right)\% ,\eta \rho ^0 \left( {0.53_{ - 0.08}^{ + 0.20} } \right)\% , \hfill \\ \pi a_2 \left( {8.49_{ - 1.10}^{ + 1.05} } \right)\% ,\eta \pi ^0 \left( {1.33 \pm 0.27} \right) \times 10^{ - 4} , \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ , and ηη(8.1±3.1)×10^?5. An upper limit for \(p\bar p \to \eta \eta '\) of 1.8×10^?4 at 95% CL was found. The ratio of the branching ratios is BR(η?)/BR(ηω)=0.51 _?0.06 ^+0.20 . For the ratio of branching ratios into two pseudoscalar mesons, we have BR(ηπ⁰)/BR(π⁰π⁰)=0.65±0.14, BR(ηη)/BR(π⁰π⁰), BR(η η ^′ )/BR(π⁰π⁰) at 95% CL, and BR(ηη)/BR(ηπ⁰).     

Electromagnetic transition probability from the ground to the first excited 2+ state in138ce

The ratio of the B(E2) values for the 0 ₁ ⁺ → 2 ₁ ⁺ transitions in¹³⁸Ce and¹⁴²Ce was measured by Coulomb excitation with α-particles. From the known value of the transition probability in¹⁴²Ce it results: B(E2,¹³⁸Ce, 0 ₁ ⁺ → 2 ₁ ⁺ =0.45 +/?0.03 e² b ²     

Die Kristallstruktur von CsTcO4 [1]

The Crystal Structure of CsTcO₄ CsTcO₄ crystallizes orthorhombic with a = 5.72₇, b = 5.92₁ and c = 14.34 Å. Z = 4, space group Pnma (Nr. 62, I.T.). The metal positions were refined by single crystal data, the oxygen positions first determined: the CsTcO₄ structure is a slight distortion of the scheelite arrangement (parameters: see text). The MADELUNG Part of Lattice Energy, MAPLE, ?Mean Effective Ionic Radii”?, MEIR, and Effective Coordination Numbers, ECoN, are calculated and discussed.
