A complete characterisation of fibres used in Spanish artwork is necessary to provide a complete knowledge of these natural
fibres and their stage of degradation. Textile samples employed as painting supports on canvas and one sample of unprocessed
plant material were chosen for this study. All the samples were investigated by synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction (SR-XRD).
Flax and cotton have the Cellulose I structure. The values of the crystalline index (CI) were calculated for both types of
fibres. The structure of Cellulose IV was associated with the unprocessed plant material. The information obtained by SR-XRD
was confirmed by laboratory techniques including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

Excitation emission fluorescence matrices (EEMs) of Verapamil drug were obtained by direct and by derivatization fluorescence
spectroscopy. The fluorescence excitation and emission wavelengths were displaced to longer wavelengths and the fluorescence
intensity was enhanced upon derivation with respect to the native fluorescence of the drug. The complete EEM of the native
fluorescence of the drug and of the derivatization product were rapidly acquired by using a charged-coupled device detector
(CCD), which is advantageous in terms of speed in the analysis, with respect to the use of a conventional photomultiplier
detector. The EEMs were analyzed by several second-order multivariate calibration methods exploiting the second order advantage.
The three-dimensional decomposition methods used, based in different assumptions about the trilinearity of the three way data
structure under analysis, were parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC), bilinear least squares (BLLS), parallel factor analysis
2 (PARAFAC2) and multivariate curve resolution—alternating least squares (MCR-ALS). The determination was performed by using
the standard addition approach. The figures of merit of the PARAFAC and BLLS methods were calculated, obtaining a lower limit
of detection with the derivatization procedure, when compared with the direct measurement of the fluorescence of the drug.
In Verapamil drug the best estimations were found with the BLLS and the MCR-ALS models. In the quantification of Verapamil
in a pharmaceutical formulation the best estimation, when compared with the result obtained by the US Pharmacopeia high performance
liquid chromatography approach, was obtained by direct fluorescence spectroscopy with MCR-ALS and by derivatization fluorescence

The dynamical susceptibility has been introduced to characterize the dynamical
heterogeneities in glass forming liquids. We have used it as a tool to
investigate the slow dynamics
of other disordered systems such as gels, granular media and spin glasses.
We review here the results obtained via numerical simulations of different
model systems. The comparative study of the behaviour of the dynamical
susceptibility sheds some light on the significant differences in the
complex slow dynamics of glasses, spin glasses, granular media,

A novel blue fluorescent first generation stilbenoid dendrimer built on the 1,3,5-benzene core and endowed with a periphery of hexyloxy branches has been synthesized and is proposed as an active layer for organic light-emitting diodes processed by spin coating. In this work, we have obtained homogeneous thin films with blue emission (2.8 eV) by spin coating instead of the usual evaporation method used for low-weight molecular materials. The absorption and emission spectra of the films are analyzed and compared to that of the molecule. The obtained results show the dependence of the absorption and emission properties on the morphology and the dendrimer aggregation in the film. The effect of inter-dendrimer interactions leads to a broadening of the absorption bands and to a reduction of the threshold as the aggregation increases. The most efficient solid-state emission is for the films obtained from chloroform as solvent in the precursor solution. 相似文献

The ability to segregate two spectrally and temporally overlapping signals based on differences in temporal envelope structure and binaural cues was investigated. Signals were a harmonic tone complex (HTC) with 20 Hz fundamental frequency and a bandpass noise (BPN). Both signals had interaural differences of the same absolute value, but with opposite signs to establish lateralization to different sides of the medial plane, such that their combination yielded two different spatial configurations. As an indication for segregation ability, threshold interaural time and level differences were measured for discrimination between these spatial configurations. Discrimination based on interaural level differences was good, although absolute thresholds depended on signal bandwidth and center frequency. Discrimination based on interaural time differences required the signals' temporal envelope structures to be sufficiently different. Long-term interaural cross-correlation patterns or long-term averaged patterns after equalization-cancellation of the combined signals did not provide information for the discrimination. The binaural system must, therefore, have been capable of processing changes in interaural time differences within the period of the harmonic tone complex, suggesting that monaural information from the temporal envelopes influences the use of binaural information in the perceptual organization of signal components. 相似文献

Piezo-driven inkjet systems are very sensitive to air entrapment. The entrapped air bubbles grow by rectified diffusion in the ink channel and finally result in nozzle failure. Experimental results on the dynamics of fully grown air bubbles are presented. It is found that the bubble counteracts the pressure buildup necessary for the droplet formation. The channel acoustics and the air bubble dynamics are modeled. For good agreement with the experimental data it is crucial to include the confined geometry into the model: The air bubble acts back on the acoustic field in the channel and thus on its own dynamics. This two-way coupling limits further bubble growth and thus determines the saturation size of the bubble. 相似文献

We describe a novel microscopy technique for quantitative phase-contrast imaging of a transparent specimen. The technique is based on depth-resolved phase information provided by common path spectral-domain optical coherence tomography and can measure minute phase variations caused by changes in refractive index and thickness inside the specimen. A theory of the joint measurement of quantum mechanical observables is generalized in order to make it applicable to the measurement of the local observables of field theory. Subsequently, the property of local commutativity, which is usually introduced as a postulate, is derived by means of the theory of measurement from a requirement of mutual nondisturbance, which, for local observables performed at a spacelike distance from each other, is interpreted as a requirement of macrocausality. Alternative attempts at establishing a deductive relationship between relativistic causality and local commutativity are reviewed, but found wanting, either because of the assumption of an unwarranted objectivity of the object system (algebraic approach) or because of the use of a projection postulate (operational approach). Finally, the quantum mechanical nonobjectivity is related to certain features of nonlocality which are present in the formalism of quantum mechanics. 相似文献

This is a report on the synthesis, characterization and spectroscopic study of 24 lanthanide-crown ether coordination compounds, where Eu(III), Tb(III) and Gd(III) were complexes to 12-crown-4 (12C4), 15-crown-5 (15C5), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and 2,2′-dipyridyl (dipy). The compounds were synthesized in an ethanol/acetone solution at room temperature and analyzed using CHN elemental analysis and infrared, absorption and emission spectroscopies. The polarizability that the ligand exerts on the emission process was verified and found remarkable. The Eu-15C5-phen complex showed the highest quantum efficiency (71.6%) because of its low non-radiative rate and highest polarizability with reference to the ligands system. 相似文献
