Algebro-Geometric Approach in the Theory of Integrable Hydrodynamic Type Systems

The algebro-geometric approach for integrability of semi-Hamiltonian hydrodynamic type systems is presented. The class of symmetric hydrodynamic type systems is defined and the calculation of the associated Riemann surfaces is greatly simplified for this class. Many interesting and physically motivated examples are investigated.     

The ASACUSA CUSP: an antihydrogen experiment

In order to test CPT symmetry between antihydrogen and its counterpart hydrogen, the ASACUSA collaboration plans to perform high precision microwave spectroscopy of ground-state hyperfine splitting of antihydrogen atom in-flight. We have developed an apparatus (“cusp trap”) which consists of a superconducting anti-Helmholtz coil and multiple ring electrodes. For the preparation of slow antiprotons and positrons, Penning-Malmberg type traps were utilized. The spectrometer line was positioned downstream of the cusp trap. At the end of the beamline, an antihydrogen beam detector was located, which comprises an inorganic Bismuth Germanium Oxide (BGO) single-crystal scintillator housed in a vacuum duct and surrounding plastic scintillators. A significant fraction of antihydrogen atoms flowing out the cusp trap were detected.     

Spectral Measures for <Emphasis Type="Italic">G</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript>

Spectral measures provide invariants for braided subfactors via fusion modules. In this paper we study joint spectral measures associated to the rank two Lie group G ₂, including the McKay graphs for the irreducible representations of G ₂ and its maximal torus, and fusion modules associated to all known G ₂ modular invariants.     

Efficient electrochromic device based on sol–gel prepared WO<Subscript>3</Subscript> films

Tungsten oxide (WO₃) films were prepared on indium–tin oxide (ITO) glass by sol–gel method. The influence of annealing temperature on the structural, morphological, optical, electrochemical, and electrochromic properties has been investigated. The film annealed at 250 °C with an amorphous structure exhibits a noticeable electrochromic performance, such as the highest optical modulation of 58.5 % at 550 nm, high electrochemical stability, and excellent reversibility (Q _b/Q _c?=?96.3 %). An electrochromic (EC) device based on WO₃/NiO complementary structure shows improved performance. It exhibits high optical transmittance modulation of 62 % at 550 nm, excellent cycling stability, and relatively fast electrochromic response time (10 s for coloration and 19 s for bleaching).     

Fragmentation of the two-phonon γ-vibration in166Er

Two-phonon γ-vibrational states in¹⁶⁶Er have been populated using Coulomb excitation. The K^π=4⁺ component of the vibration appears to be fragmented over several states, whereas only one K^π=0⁺ state is observed.     

Circular Orbits in Stationary Axisymmetric Spacetimes

Several types of characteristics of spatially circular timelike trajectories in stationary axisymmetric spacetimes are related in a simple and covariant manner. The relations allow us to establish straightforward links between different phenomena often studied on circular orbits: mechanics of a single test particle, precession of gyroscopes with respect to important vectors defined along the orbit, geometrical parameters (curvatures) of the trajectory provided by the Frenet-Serret formalism, and geometrical properties (vorticity and shear) of the whole circular congruence.
