Alloy nanoparticles represent one of the most important metal materials, finding increasing applications in diverse fields of catalysis, biomedicine, and nano-optics. However, the structural evolution of bimetallic nanoparticles in their full composition spectrum has been rarely explored at the molecular and atomic levels, imparting inherent difficulties to establish a reliable structure–property relationship in practical applications. Here, through an inter-particle reaction between [Au44(SR)26]2− and [Ag44(SR)30]4− nanoparticles or nanoclusters (NCs), which possess the same number of metal atoms, but different atomic packing structures, we reveal the composition-dependent structural evolution of alloy NCs in the alloying process at the molecular and atomic levels. In particular, an inter-cluster reaction can produce three sets of AuxAg44−x NCs in a wide composition range, and the structure of AuxAg44−x NCs evolves from Ag-rich [AuxAg44−x(SR)30]4− (x = 1–12), to evenly mixed [AuxAg44−x(SR)27]3− (x = 19–24), and finally to Au-rich [AuxAg44−x(SR)26]2− (x = 40–43) NCs, with the increase of the Au/Ag atomic ratio in the NC composition. In addition, leveraging on real-time electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), we reveal the different inter-cluster reaction mechanisms for the alloying process in the sub-3-nm regime, including partial decomposition–reconstruction and metal exchange reactions. The molecular-level inter-cluster reaction demonstrated in this study provides a fine chemistry to customize the composition and structure of bimetallic NCs in their full alloy composition spectrum, which will greatly increase the acceptance of bimetallic NCs in both basic and applied research.An inter-particle reaction between atomically precise [Au44(SR)26]2− (SR = thiolate) and [Ag44(SR)30]4− nanoparticles reveals the composition-dependent structural evolution of alloy AuxAg44−x nanoparticles at the atomic level. 相似文献

Silicone/fluorine‐functionalized polyacrylates were synthesized and subsequently used to prepare corrosion‐resistant transparent coatings via electrophoretic deposition. The coated tin plate with the functionalized polyacrylate had a gloss value higher than 95.0 GU and resisted rust after immersion in a 5 wt% NaCl solution for 10 days. In addition, these coatings remained adhered strongly to the tin plates even after they were bent. Effect of Interfacial Adsorption on the Stability of Thin Polymer Films in a Solvent-induced Process
The stability of ultrathin polymer films plays a crucial role in their technological applications. Here, we systematically investigated the influence of interfacial adsorption in physical aging and the stability of thin polymer films in the solvent-induced process. We further identify the stability mechanism from the theory of thin film stability. Our results show that the aging temperature and film thickness can strongly influence the stability of thin PS films in acetone vapor. Physical aging can greatly improve the stability of thin polymer films when the aging temperature T_(aging1)T_g. A thinner PS film more quickly reaches a stable state via physical aging. At short aging time, the formation of the adsorbed layer can reduce the polar interaction; however, it slightly influences the stability of thin polymer films in the solvent-induced process. At later aging stage,the conformational rearrangement of the polymer chains induced by the interfacial effect at the aging temperature T_(aging1) plays an important role in stabilizing the thin polymer films. However, at T_(aging2)T_g, the process of physical aging slightly influences the stability of the thin polymer films.The formation of the adsorbed layer at T_(aging2) can reduce the short-range polar interaction of the thin film system and cannot suppress the instability of thin polymer films in the solvent-induced process. These results provide further insight into the stable mechanism of thin polymer films in the solvent-induced process. 相似文献
