Multimethod characterization of the interaction of aluminum ion with alpha-ketoglutaric acid in acidic aqueous solutions.

It has recently been reported that aluminum plays a very important role in reducing the activity of Krebs-cycle enzymes and glutamate dehydrogenase in rat brain homogenate. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the aluminum binding ability with the pivotal substrate alpha-ketoglutarate in biological systems. The interactions of aluminum with alpha-ketoglutarate were studied with pH-potentiometry, cyclic voltammetry, UV-vis, 1H, 27Al-NMR and Raman spectra multi-analytical techniques in acidic aqueous solution to measure the stoichiometries and stability constants of the complexes and its keto-enol tautomerism. The alpha-ketoglutarate was found to bind Al in a bidentate manner at the carboxylate and carbonyl moieties. The mononuclear 1:1 (AlLH(-1), AIL+, AlHL2+) and 2:1 (AlL2-, AlL2H(-2)3-) species, and dinuclear 2:1 (Al2L4+) species were found in acidic aqueous solution. Meanwhile, Al can promote alpha-KG tautomerize to its enolic-structure compounds in solutions. These findings may help to further understand the influence of Al on GDH enzyme reactions in biological systems.

闪光X射线高速摄影荧光转换屏的设计和性质研究

本文描述了用于中间弹道高速摄影荧光转换屏的设计特点、性能测试和实验结果。文中讨论了Gd2O2S:Tb和(Zn,Cd)S对X射线的吸收系数、发光效率以及荧光光谱与变象管S-20阴极光谱灵敏度曲线相匹配的相关曲线;测试了转换屏的相对发光强度、分辨率及其余辉。实验证明本屏发光亮度比钨酸钙屏高60倍左右,屏分辩率达51p/mm,余辉时间为8μs,多幅摄影结果证明第一幅的图象对第二幅照片无“拖尾”现象,本屏已达到了中间弹道高速摄影转换屏的实用水平。

允许卖空的资本市场中存在非负均衡价格向量的充要条件

For the capital market satisfying standard assumptions that are widely adopted in the equilibrium analysis,a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence and uniqueness of a nonnegative equilibrium price vector that clears the mean-variance capital market with short sale allowed is derived. Moreover, the given explicit formula for the equilibrium price shows clearly the relationship between prices of assets and statistical properties of the rate of return on assets, the desired rates of return of individual investors as well as other economic quantities.The economic implication of the derived condition is briefly discussed. These results improve the available results about the equilibrium analysis of the mean-variance market.     

Transient gain-absorption of the probe field in asymmetric semiconductor quantum wells

Under the weak-probe approximation, we theoretically investigate the transient gain-absorption property of the probe field in a four-level asymmetric semiconductor quantum well system. We find that the strength of Fano interference and the energy splitting affect the transient gain-absorption property of the weak continuous-wave (CW) probe field or Gaussian-pulse probe field dramatically. The dependence of transient gain-absorption property of the probe field on the intensity and the frequency detuning of the strong coupling field is also given. Our study is much more practical than its atomic counterpart due to its flexible design and the controllable interference strength. Thus, it may provide some new possibilities for technological applications.     

On Coherent Risk Measures Induced by Convex Risk Measures

We study the close relationship between coherent risk measures and convex risk measures. Inspired by the obtained results, we propose a class of coherent risk measures induced by convex risk measures. The robust representation and minimization problem of the induced coherent risk measure are investigated. A new coherent risk measure, the Entropic Conditional Value-at-Risk (ECVaR), is proposed as a special case. We show how to apply the induced coherent risk measure to realistic portfolio selection problems. Finally, by comparing its out-of-sample performance with that of CVaR, entropic risk measure, as well as entropic value-at-risk, we carry out a series of empirical tests to demonstrate the practicality and superiority of the ECVaR measure in optimal portfolio selection.     

Practical arbitrage‐free scenario tree reduction methods and their applications in financial optimization

We construct an arbitrage‐free scenario tree reduction model, from which some arbitrage‐free scenario tree reduction algorithms are designed. They ensure that the reduced scenario trees are arbitrage free. Numerical results show the practicality and efficiency of the proposed algorithms. Results for multistage portfolio selection problems demonstrate the necessity and importance for guaranteeing that the reduced scenario trees are arbitrage free, as well as the practicality of the proposed arbitrage‐free scenario tree reduction algorithms for financial optimization.     

Stable and spacing-adjustable multiwavelength Raman fiber laser based on mixed-cascaded phosphosilicate fiber Raman linear cavity

A novel multiwavelength Raman fiber laser based on the mixed-cascaded Stokes effects of phosphosilicate fiber is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. By using stimulated Raman scattering of both P(2)O(5) and SiO(2) along 1 km phosphosilicate fiber pumped with a 1064 nm double-clad fiber laser, the mixed-cascaded Raman linear cavity is formed by a pair of fiber Bragg gratings at 1239 nm, a polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) Sagnac loop filter, and a conventional optical loop mirror. Up to 15-wavelength stable oscillations around 1320 nm are obtained with a wavelength spacing of 0.44 nm and power nonuniformity of less than 4 dB. By changing the length of the PMF in the Sagnac loop filter from 10 to 5.5 m, the wavelength spacing is adjustable from 0.44 to 0.8 nm. The extinction ratio of the laser is more than 30 dB. Excellent stability is also observed with a peak power fluctuation of less than 0.8 dB in 1 h.
