We measured the fluorescence intensity and anisotropy decays of 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH)-labeled membranes resulting from simultaneous two-photon excitation of fluorescence. Comparison of these two-photon data with the more usual one-photon measurements revealed that DPH displayed identical intensity decays, anisotropy decays, and order parameters for one- and two-photon excitation. While the anisotropy data are numerically distinct, they can be compared by use of the factor 10/7, which accounts for the two-photon versus one-photon photoselection. The increased time 0 anisotropy of DPH can result in increased resolution of complex anisotropy decays. Global analysis of the one- and two-photon data reveals consistency with a single apparent angle between the absorption and the emission oscillators. The global anisotropy analysis also suggests that, except for the photoselection factor, the anisotropy decays are the same for one-and two-photon excitation. This ideal behavior of DPH as a two-photon absorber, and its high two-photon cross section, makes DPH a potential probe for confocal two-photon microscopy and other systems where it is advantageous to use long-wavelength (680- to 760-nm) excitation. 相似文献

The observed phenomena of changes of chemical compositions in previous reports [1, 2] allowed us to develop a phenomenological nuclear fusion-fission model with taking into consideration the elastic and inelastic scattering of photoprotons and photoneutrons, heating of surrounding deuterium nuclei, following d-d fusion reactions and fission of middle-mass nuclei by “hot” protons, deuterons and various-energy neutrons. Such chain processes could produce the necessary number of neutrons, “hot” deuterons for explanation of observed experimental results [1, 2]. The developed approach can be a basis for creation of deuterated nuclear fission reactors (DNFR) with high-density deuterium gas and the so-called deuterated metals. Phase transitions of tetra(isopropylammonium)decachlorotricadmate(II) [(CH3)2CHNH3]4Cd3Cl10 crystal have been studied by infrared, far infrared and Raman measurements in wide temperature range, between 11 K and 388 K. The temperature changes of wavenumber, center of gravity, width and intensity of the bands were analyzed to clarify cationic and anionic contributions to the phase transitions mechanism. The results of investigation showed earlier by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal expansion and dielectric measurements clearly confirmed the sequence of phase transitions at T1=353 K, T2=294 K and T3=260 K. This work focuses on the fabrication and response of dipole antenna-coupled metal–oxide–metal diode detectors to long-wave infrared radiation. The detectors are fabricated using a single electron beam lithography step and a shadow evaporation technique. The detector’s characteristics are presented, which include response as a function of incident infrared power and polarization angle. In addition, the effect of dipole antenna length on detection characteristics for 10.6 μm radiation has been measured to determine resonant lengths. The response of the detector shows a first resonance at a dipole length of 3.1 μm, a second resonance at 9.3 μm, and third at 15.5 μm. The zeros intermediate to the resonances are also evident. 相似文献

We present a complete systematics (excitation functions and system-size dependences) of global stopping and side flow for heavy ion reactions in the energy range between 0.09A and 1.93A GeV. For the heaviest system, Au+Au, we observe a plateau of maximal stopping extending from about 0.2A to 0.8A GeV with a fast drop on both sides. The degree of stopping, which is shown to remain significantly below the expectations of a full stopping scenario, is found to be highly correlated to the amount of side flow. 相似文献

Radiative recombination transitions into the ground state of cooled bare and hydrogenlike uranium ions were measured at the storage ring ESR. By comparing the corresponding x-ray centroid energies, this technique allows for a direct measurement of the electron-electron contribution to the ionization potential in the heaviest He-like ions. For the two-electron contribution to the ionization potential of He-like uranium we obtain a value of 2248+/-9 eV. This represents the most accurate determination of two-electron effects in the domain of high-Z He-like ions, and the accuracy reaches already the size of the specific two-electron radiative QED corrections. 相似文献

A model for the longitudinal structure function FL at low x and low Q2 is presented, which includes the kinematical constraint FL ~ Q4 as Q2 → 0. It is based on the photon-gluon fusion mechanism suitably extrapolated to the region of low Q2. The contribution of quarks having limited transverse momentum is treated phenomenologically assuming that it is described by the soft pomeron exchange mechanism. The ratio R = FL/(F2 ? FL), with the F2 appropriately extrapolated to the region of low Q2, is also discussed. 相似文献
