SYNTHESIS AND CATALYTIC PROPERTY OF POLYSTYRENE SUPPORTED GLUTAMIC ACID SCHIFF BASE COMPLEX OF Mn（ Ⅱ ） IN AEROBIC OXIDATION OF CYCLOHEXENE

The polystyrene supported glutamic acid Schiff base complex of Mn （ Ⅱ ） （PS-Sal-Glue-Mn） was prepared with chloromethylated styrene polymer beads, 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, L-glutamic acid and manganese （ Ⅱ ） acetate tetrahyrate. The polymeric ligand and the complex were characterized by FT-IR, small area X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and 1CP-AES. In the presence of the manganese complex, cyclohexene （1） was effectively oxidized by molecular oxygen without reductant. The major products of the reaction were 2-cyclohexen-l-ol （2）, 2-cyclohexen-l-one （3） and 2-cyclohexen-1- hydroperoxide （4）, which was different with typical oxidation of cyclohexene. The influence of reaction temperature and additive for oxidation had been studied. The selectivity of 2-cyclohexen-1-hydroperoxide varied with reaction time and different additives. The mechanism of cyclohexene oxidation had also been discussed.     

Two-dimensional protein database of human pancreas

We report here the two-dimensional protein database of human pancreas. The proteins were analyzed by two-dimensional electrophoresis followed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS). Totally, 302 proteins were identified, of which about 27% were enzymes with a broad range of catalytic activities. Several of these are specifically expressed in pancreas, such as pancreatic amylase, pancreatic stone protein, pancreatitis-associated protein, pancreatic lipase, pancreatic elastase, etc. Structural and cytoskeletal proteins are also strongly represented on the gels. Thus, the pancreatic proteome reflects the organ's function. This work paves the way for further studies on pancreatic protein expression in health and disease, such as diabetes and pancreatic cancer.     

Ligand Exchange Between Penta-Coordinated Phosphoryl Serine and Histidine Compounds

With the assistance of HPLC-ESI-MS/MS, the self-assembly products of serine and histidine penta-coordinated phosphorus compound were separated and identified. The expectative product was seryl-histidine dipeptide, but it was found that there was almost equimolar amount of histidyl-histidine dipeptide as well as seryl-histidine dipeptide. The mechanism was speculated that there was iigand exchange between penta-coordinated phosphoryl serine and histidine in the reaction process. As a result,two types of dipeptide were produced.

Synthesis of silk-like FeS2/NiS2 hybrid nanocrystals with improved reversible oxygen catalytic performance in a Zn-air battery

The development of highly active and stable reversible oxygen electrocatalysts is crucial for improving the efficiency of metal-air battery devices. Herein, an efficient liquid exfoliation strategy was designed for producing silk-like FeS₂/NiS₂ hybrid nanocrystals with enhanced reversible oxygen catalytic performance that displayed excellent properties for Zn-air batteries. Because of the unique silk-like morphology and interface nanocrystal structure, they can catalyze the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) efficiently with a low overpotential of 233 mV at j = 10 mA cm^?2. This is an improvement from the recently reported catalysts in 1.0 M KOH. Meanwhile, the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity of the silk-like FeS₂/NiS₂ hybrid nanocrystals showed an onset potential of 911 mV and a half-wave potential of 640 mV. In addition, the reversible oxygen electrode activity of the silk-like FeS₂/NiS₂ hybrid nanocrystals was calculated to be 0.823 V, based on the potential of the OER and ORR. Further, the homemade rechargeable Zn-air batteries using FeS₂/NiS₂ hybrid nanocrystals as the air-cathode displayed a high open-circuit voltage of 1.25 V for more than 17 h and an excellent rechargeable performance for 25 h. The solid Zn-air batteries exhibited an excellent rechargeable performance for 15 h. This study provided a new method for designing interface nanocrystals with a unique morphology for efficient multifunctional electrocatalysts in electrochemical reactions and renewable energy devices.     

C12-s-C12·2Br与低碳醇混合水溶液胶团化行为的温度效应和焓/熵补偿

季铵盐Gemini表面活性剂C12-s-C12·2Br(s=2,3,4,6)与丙醇、丁醇、戊醇、己醇混合水溶液的In(cmc)随温度升高而逐渐增大.计算所得热力学数据表明,C12-s-C12·2Br与醇混合胶团化过程服从熵驱动机理,也出现了焓/熵补偿现象.随着温度上升,熵驱动力增大,在指定温度时,醇分子烷烃链上碳原子数n增大使△Gm0值减小,胶团结构更加稳定;而增加s使值增大,胶团稳定性下降.     

ELECTROCHROMETIC STUDIES ON POLAR MULTILAYERS OF LIQUID CRYSTALLINE POLYMERS

Electrochrometic measurements were carried on the Z-type Langmuir-Blodgett films oftwo liquid crystalline polymers: mono-{6-[4-(phenylazo) naphthyloxy] hexyl} (1a) andmono-{6-[4-(anthraquinone-1-azo) naphthyloxy] hexyl} (2a) ester of polymaleic acid. Itwas found that for both polymers, poling fields parallel and antiparalle1 to dipole momentsof the polymer side chains induce red and blue shift in absorption bands, respectively. Forpolymer la blue shift is accompanied by absorbance increase, while red shift by absorbancedecrease;but for polymer 2a only decrease in absorbance is observed. A simple model wasproposed to analyze the results.
