A thermal method using differential scanning calorimeter has been applied to aqueous solutions of a series of poly(tetraalkylammonium ethenesulfonates) (R4NPES). It was found that only the salts withR=n-C4H9 andR=i-C5H11 could form stable hydrates having large hydration numbers. The melting point and hydration numbers of these two hydrates were 12.0°C and 30±1 for the (n-C4H9)4NPES hydrate and 16.0°C and 53±2 for the (i-C5H11)4NPES hydrate, respectively. It was concluded that these hydrates were clathrate-like essentially similar to such hydrates as (n-C4H9)4NF·30H2O and (i-C5H11)4NF·40H2O.  相似文献

Investigation on variation of the electronic structure accompanying the electrochemical lithium insertion into the perovskite type oxide, (Li,La)TiO3, has been carried out by X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). During the electrochemical lithium insertion, titanium ion reduced its oxidation state from Ti4+ to Ti3+, while La3+ does not contribute to the reduction reaction resulting from Ti K-edge and La L3-edge XAS, respectively. Furthermore, O K-edge XAS showed marked spectral changes with electrochemical lithium insertion, indicating the electronic structure around oxide ion affected by lithium insertion reaction. From the XAS measurement, we have concluded the variation observed in O K-edge XAS was related to the strong interaction with inserted Li ion. To confirm this, first-principles band calculations were performed for the perovskite structure before and after electrochemical lithium insertion. The calculated results showed that the electron originated from inserted Li transferred to neighboring oxide ion locally as well as to Ti ion. This may be due to local neutralization effect of Li to reduce the electrostatic interaction in the crystal.  相似文献

Metallic phase of NbS3 was synthesized by heating the crystal of semiconducting NbS3. Metallic NbS3 undergoes superconducting transition around 2 K. The analysis of the angular dependence of the upper critical magnetic field suggests that the effect of filmy or fibrous morphology plays an important role in the superconducting properties.  相似文献

Cellulosic biomass is a promising alternative energy resource from the viewpoint of sustainability. The use of waste materials as cellulosic biomass could additionally contribute to a recycling society. It is thus essential to develop safer processes in order to expand utilization of cellulosic biomass as a useful resource in the future. For example, in some cases, construction wastes contain wood preservatives, including metal oxides that can act as catalysts for the oxidation of organic materials. Copper(II) oxide (CuO) is a major component in wood preservatives and is known to catalyze the oxidation of cellulose. There is, therefore, possibility for spontaneous ignition within large piles of wood chips from construction wastes. In this study, we focused on the thermal behavior of a cellulose/CuO mixture, measured using a Calvet-type heat flux calorimeter. In addition, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and gas chromatography were applied to analyze the oxidative decomposition gases of the cellulose/CuO mixture, and a reaction mechanism was proposed. It was revealed that CuO promotes the oxidative decomposition of cellulose and increases the quantity of the gases that evolved from cellulose with a catalytic cycle. The influence of CuO on oxidation of cellulose is greater at lower temperatures and spontaneous ignition, fires, and explosions are likely to increase when wood chips containing CuO are stored for long periods of time.  相似文献

A charge-transfer (CT) complex of NOBF4 and hexamethoxybenzene (HMB), which gives out HMB?+ as a “fluorescent radical cation probe,” upon one-electron oxidation, has been designed to explore the excited state dynamics of contact radical ion pairs by laser-induced fluorescence and femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopic techniques. The acetonitrile solution of the CT complex showed weak fluorescence with a similar spectrum to that observed for free excited HMB radical cation (HMB?+*), suggesting the formation of HMB?+* upon the one-photonic excitation of the CT complex. The laser-power dependence of the fluorescence intensity supported the one-photonic excitation event. We have also observed a short-lived transient species but no long-lived species by femtosecond laser flash photolysis of the CT complex. The lifetime (6.5 ps) was in good accordance with its fluorescence quantum yield (2.5 × 10?5) and was able to assign the transient species to the fluorescent state, an excited radical ion pair [HMB ?+*/NO?]. All the events were completed within the inner sphere and the short lifetime of the transient species could be attributed to rapid back-electron transfer. It is concluded that the excited radical cation character in the excited state of the CT complex originates from the radical ion character in the CT complex in the ground state and that a relatively long lifetime of HMB?+* facilitates its observation even in the contact ion pair.  相似文献

Treatment of 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,5-diphenyl-6,7-dithiabicyclo[3.1.1]heptane 6-endo-oxide ( 2 ) with Montmorillonitc K 10 in dichloromethane gave 2,2,-4,4-tetramethyl-1,5-diphenyl-7,8-dithia-6-oxabicyclo-[3.2.1]octane ( 6 ) (11%) with recovery of 2 (87%). Under similar reaction conditions, the 6-exo-oxide 7 and the sulfenate 6 gave a mixture of 6 (21%), 2 (67%), and 7 (9%) and a mixture of 2 (89%) and 6 (9%), respectively. These results indicate the relative thermodynamic stabilities of the three compounds to be 2 > 6 > 7 . PM3 calculations on these compounds showed the heats of formation (kcal/mol) to be in the following order: 6 (44.12783), 2 (57.46721), and 7 (59.37918). The driving force of this unusual 1,2-rearrangement of 2 and 7 to 6 would be the release of the ring strain of the bicyclo[3.1.1]heptane system of 2 and 7 by ring expansion.  相似文献
