Internal amide-triggered cycloaromatization of maduropeptin-like nine-membered enediyne

In the Masamune-Bergman cyclization of a nine-membered non-conjugated enediyne with an internal, maduropeptin-like nucleophile, the exocyclic alkene migrated to form the nine-membered conjugated enediyne, triggered by the intramolecular addition of the amide group; final aromatized products showed up to 85% yield.     

An efficient synthesis of 4‐alkoxy‐5,6‐dihydro‐furo(and ‐thieno)[2,3‐d]pyrimidines using zinc chloride/triethylamine reagent system

The one‐pot synthesis of 4‐alkoxy‐5,6‐dihydro‐furo(and ‐thieno)[2,3‐d]pyrimidines is described. The reactions of 2‐benzamido‐4,5‐dihydro‐3‐furan(and ‐3‐thiophene)carbonitriles 1a‐d and 2a‐c with ethanol and/or methanol in the presence of zinc chloride and triethylamine gave the corresponding 4‐alkoxy‐5,6‐dihydro‐furo(and ‐thieno)[2,3‐d]pyrimidines 3a‐d , 4a‐d , 5a‐c and 6a‐c .     

Morita Endomorphism Algebras of Generators

We provide a characterization for the endomorphism algebra of a generator to be a Morita algebra. As an application, n-Auslander algebras which are Morita algebras simultaneously are characterized.

Tetraplatinum precursors for supramolecular assemblies: syntheses, crystal structures, and stereoselective self-assemblies of [Pt4(micro-OCOCH3)6(kappa4-N4-DArBp)] (DArBp = 1,3-bis(arylbenzamidinate)propane)

Treatment of the cisoid-capped complex [Pt(4)(micro-OCOCH(3))(6)(kappa(4)-N(4)-DAr'Bp)] (), which was obtained from the reaction of [Pt(4)(micro-OCOCH(3))(8)] (1) with Na(2)D(t)BuPhBp (D(t)BuPhBp = 1,3-bis(para-tert-butylphenylbenzamidinate)propane), with an equimolar amount of 1,1'-ferrocenedicarboxylic acid undergoes a stereoselective self-assembly to afford an indented-quadrangle tetramer [Pt(4)(micro-OCOCH(3))(4)(kappa(4)-N(4)-D(t)BuPhBp){Fe(C(5)H(4)COO)(2)}](4) as a single diastereomer.     

Total Synthesis,Stereochemical Reassignment,and Biological Evaluation of (−)‐Lyngbyaloside B

(?)‐Lyngbyaloside B is a 14‐membered macrolide glycoside isolated from the marine cyanobacterium Lyngbya sp. as a cytotoxic substance by Moore and co‐workers. The first total synthesis of (?)‐lyngbyaloside B and the reassignment of its stereostructure is described. The synthesis features an Abiko–Masamune aldol reaction, a vinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reaction, and a macrocyclization involving an acyl ketene intermediate for the construction of the macrocyclic backbone, which contains an acylated tertiary alcohol. The antiproliferative activity of selected compounds against a small panel of human cancer cell lines is also reported.
