Studies on the mechanism of 1,2-dihydropyrazin-2-one ring formation from dipeptidyl chloromethyl ketone and its chemical properties: immediate deamination during catalytic hydrogenation

1,2-Dihydropyrazin-2-one derivatives, which have two aminoalkyl groups at the positions 3 and 6, were found to be efficient tools for the construction of potent, selective and long-acting opioid mimetics. During the course of preparation, we found that the catalytic hydrogenation of 3,6-bis(benzyloxycarbonylaminomethyl)-5-methyl-1,2-dihydropyrazin-2-one to remove the benzyloxycarbonyl groups resulted in a side reaction. By MS and NMR studies and by preparation of additional 1,2-dihydropyrazin-2-one derivatives, the structure of the by-product was identified as 3-aminomethyl-5,6-dimethyl-1,2-dihydropyrazin-2-one. Preparation of additional compounds substituted with deuterium provided us with sufficient information to confirm the structure of the product and to support a cyclization mechanism in its formation.     

A GaCl3-catalyzed [4+1] cycloaddition of alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds and isocyanides leading to unsaturated gamma-lactone derivatives

A GaCl3-catalyzed reaction of alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones with isocyanides leading to the formation of unsaturated lactone derivatives is described. This is the first example of the catalytic [4+1] cycloaddition of alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones and isocyanides. GaCl3 is an excellent catalyst due to its lower oxophilicity, which is desirable for all of the key steps, such as E/Z isomerization, cyclization, and deattachment from the products.     

Gas permeability and permselectivity of fluorinated polybenzoxazoles

Gas permeability and permselectivity are investigated for polybenzoxazoles from bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane (BAHHP) and aromatic diacid chlorides. Effects of thermal cyclization on the permeation properties are also investigated. The polybenzoxazole from BAHHP and 4,4′-(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropylidene)dibenzoyl chloride (HFDB) displays high performance for CO₂/CH₄ separation ( $ {\rm P}_{{\rm CO}_2 } $ = 6.1 × 10^?9 cm³ (STP) cm^?1 s^?1 cm-Hg^?1, and $ {{{\rm P}_{{\rm CO}_2 } } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{{\rm P}_{{\rm CO}_2 } } {{\rm P}_{{\rm CH}_4 } }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {{\rm P}_{{\rm CH}_4 } }} $ = 38 at 35°C). The polybenzoxazole from BAHHP and 2,6-naphthalene dicarbonyl chloride displays high performance for H₂/CO or H₂/CH₄ separation ( $ {\rm P}_{{\rm H}_2 } $ = 2.4 × 10^?9 cm³ (STP) cm^?1 s^?1 cm-Hg^?1, $ {{{\rm P}_{{\rm H}_2 } } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{{\rm P}_{{\rm H}_2 } } {{\rm P}_{{\rm CO}} }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {{\rm P}_{{\rm CO}} }} $ = 71, and $ {{{\rm P}_{{\rm H}_2 } } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{{\rm P}_{{\rm H}_2 } } {{\rm P}_{{\rm CH}_{\rm 4} } }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {{\rm P}_{{\rm CH}_{\rm 4} } }} $ = 250). Permeation properties for the polybenzoxazole from BAHHP and HFDB are close to those for a polyimide of similar chemical structure. The permeation properties are discussed in connection with packing density and local segmental mobility. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Mapping analyses of Fe-diffused mc-Si using M?ssbauer microscope and photoluminescence

Twenty CK chondrites collected in the Antarctica Continent were characterized by inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), prompt gamma ray analysis (PGA), instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and ⁵⁷Fe-M?ssbauer spectroscopy. As a result of elemental analysis, it was revealed that 18.2~26.4 mass% of iron was included in the each chondrite. M?ssbauer spectrum of LEW86258, classified as a typical CK chondrite, was found to be composed of two paramagnetic doublets and two magnetic sextets. M?ssbauer spectra were assigned to the absorption due to forsterite (Mg_1.36Fe_0.64SiO₄) and magnetite (Fe₃O₄), as also confirmed by XRD. XRD study of LAP03834, reclassified from CK to R chondrite, revealed the presence of crystalline phase due to forsterite. These results indicate that LAP03834 and related chondrites, i.e., MET01149, LAP03923 and MAC02453, should be reclassified as R or LL chondrite.     

SUSY flavor structure of generic 5D supergravity models

We perform a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the SUSY flavor structure of generic 5D supergravity models on S ¹/Z ₂ with multiple Z ₂-odd vector multiplets that generate multiple moduli. The SUSY flavor problem can be avoided due to contact terms in the 4D effective K?hler potential peculiar to the multi-moduli case. A?detailed phenomenological analysis is provided based on an illustrative model.     

Abnormal Li diffusion in β-LiGa by the formation of defect complex

The diffusion coefficients of Li in the NaTl-type Li intermetallic compound of β-LiGa have been measured by using a short-lived radioactive diffusion tracer. As the tracer, the α-emitting radioisotope of ⁸Li delivered as the energetic and pulsed beam from Tokai Radioactive Ion Accelerator Complex (TRIAC) was implanted into the β-LiGa compounds with the composition in the range of about 43 to 54 at.% Li. By analyzing the time-dependent yields of the α-particles measured according to the repetition cycle of the beam, the tracer diffusion coefficients were extracted over the wide range of Li composition. Abnormal composition-dependence of Li diffusion coefficients in β-LiGa was observed; the stoichiometric β-LiGa showed the highest diffusivity of Li. By referring to the composition-dependent diffusivity of Li in the iso-structural β-LiAl and β-LiIn, we could identify the abnormal diffusion of Li in very Li-poor composition of β-LiGa. The anomaly has been discussed qualitatively in terms of the formation of defect complex and the interaction between the constitutional defects.     

Synthesis of Poly(amidoamine) Dendrimer with a Diphenyl Diselenide Core

Abstract

We succeeded in the synthesis of a novel poly(amidoamine) dendrimer having diphenyl diselenide at the core. Modification of the dendrimer diselenide by the reaction with glucono-δ-lactone in methanol gave a water-soluble dendrimer diselenide having chiral terminal groups. The structures of dendrimers were satisfactorily confirmed by MAIDI-TOF MS spectrometry, elemental analysis, and NMR spectroscopy. Interestingly, induced circular dichroism (ICD) of the interaction between the diphenyl diselenide core and D-gluconamide periphery of the dendrimer was observed at 300 nm.

One‐Pot Stereoselective Synthesis of 2‐Acylaziridines and 2‐Acylpyrrolidines from N‐(Propargylic)hydroxylamines

The stereoselective direct transformation of N‐(propargylic)hydroxylamines into cis‐2‐acylaziridines was achieved by the combined use of AgBF₄ and CuCl. Copper salts were found to promote the transformation of the intermediary 4‐isoxazolines into 2‐acylaziridines and both 3‐aryl‐ and 3‐alkyl‐substituted 2‐acylaziridines could be prepared by using this method. Furthermore, subsequent 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides that were generated in situ from the intermediary 2‐acylaziridines with maleimides was achieved in a stereoselective one‐pot procedure to afford the corresponding 2‐acylpyrrolidines, which consisted of an octahydropyrrolo[3,4‐c]pyrrole skeleton.
