RuII‐ and RuIII‐substituted α‐Keggin‐type phosphotungstates with a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) ligand, [PW11O39RuIIDMSO]5– ( 1 ) and [PW11O39RuIIIDMSO]4– ( 2 ), were synthesized. Compound 1 was prepared by reaction of [PW11O39]7– with [RuII(DMSO)4]Cl2 in water at 125 °C under hydrothermal conditions and was isolated as a cesium salt. Compound 2 was prepared by reaction of 1 with bromine in water at 60 °C and was isolated as a cesium salt. The compounds were characterized by cyclic voltammetry, elemental analysis, UV/Vis, IR,31P NMR, 183W NMR, 1H NMR, and XANES (Ru K‐edge and L3‐edge)spectroscopic methods. Single crystal structural analysis of 1 revealed that RuII is incorporated in the α‐Keggin framework and coordinated by DMSO through a Ru–S bond. Cyclic voltammetry of 1 indicated that the incorporated RuII‐DMSO is reversibly oxidizable to the RuIII‐DMSO derivative 2 . Compound 1 showed catalytic activity for water oxidation in the presence of cerium ammonium nitrate as an oxidant.  相似文献

In this present study, we report on new methodology for determining the Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) of a neutral surfactant Triton X-100 (TX-100) both in aqueous and non-aqueous media based on a non-invasive approach. The presence of the phenyl moiety of TX-100 was made use of as an intrinsic fluorophore and steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopy has been used to characterize the micellar systems. There are reports that external fluorophores may bring about some structural changes in the systems and the perturbations caused by these fluorophores in micellar systems may affect the shape and size of the micelles. We have also used three probes namely ANS, Rh6G and C-480 to determine the CMC of TX-100 both in aqueous and non-aqueous media and the values obtained agree very well with those estimated by the non-invasive techniques. Interestingly, for our system, we have conclusively proved that the external probes have almost no effect on the process of micellization. Although, both the invasive and non-invasive technologies report almost the same values of CMC, yet the latter methodology is free from any external perturbations and this makes the micellar/reverse micellar system, which may interact with other biological systems less prone to any physical distortions.  相似文献

Preparation and structural characterization of a novel polyoxometalate (POM), [(P(2)W(15)Ti(3)O(60.5))(4)(NH(4))](35-) 1, i.e., an encapsulated NH(4)(+) cation species in the central cavity of a tetramer (called the Dawson tetramer) constituted by trititanium(IV)-substituted α-Dawson POM substructure, are described. POM 1 was synthesized by several different methods and unequivocally characterized by complete elemental analysis, thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA), FTIR spectroscopy, solution ((15)N{(1)H}, (31)P, (183)W) NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. First, POM 1 was synthesized by a reaction of NH(4)Cl in aqueous solution with a precursor, which was derived by thermal treatment of a monomeric triperoxotitanium(IV)-substituted Dawson POM, [α-1,2,3-P(2)W(15)(TiO(2))(3)O(56)(OH)(3)](9-) 2, for 3 h in an electric furnace at 200 °C. The encapsulated NH(4)(+) cation in 1 was confirmed by (15)N{(1)H} NMR measurement and X-ray crystallography. As another synthesis of 1, a direct exchange of the Cl(-) anion encapsulated in [{α-1,2,3-P(2)W(15)Ti(3)O(57.5)(OH)(3)}(4)Cl](25-) 3 with the NH(4)(+) cation was attained by neutralizing an aqueous solution containing 3 with the addition of aqueous NH(3) (the initial pH of ca. 2-2.5 was changed to 6.4), followed by adding NH(4)Cl. It has been clarified that the conditions as to whether the anion or the cation is encapsulated in the central cavity of the Dawson tetramer were significantly related to the protonation/deprotonation of the bridging oxygen atoms on the intramolecular surface, Ti-O-Ti/Ti-OH-Ti sites constituting the Dawson subunits.  相似文献

By a simple DTA system, the glass transition temperatures of the quaternary ammonium type ionic liquid, {N,N-diethyl-N-methyl-N-(2-methoxyethyl) ammonium iodide, [DEME][I] + H2O} mixtures after quick pre-cooling were measured as a function of water concentration (x mol% H2O). Results were compared with the previous results of {[DEME][BF4] + H2O} mixtures in which double glass transitions were observed in the water concentration region of (16.5 to 30.0) mol% H2O. Remarkably, we observed the double glass transition phenomenon in {[DEME][I] + H2O} mixtures too, but the two-Tgs regions lie towards the water-rich side of (77.5 to 85.0) mol% H2O. These clearly reflect the difference in the anionic effect between BF4- and I? on the water structure. The end of the glass-formation region of {[DEME][I] + H2O} mixtures is around x = 95.0 mol% H2O, and this is comparable to that of {[DEME][BF4] + H2O} mixtures (x = 96.0 mol% H2O).  相似文献

Here, we have measured the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate–H2O mixed solutions as a function of H2O concentration (x mol% H2O). The glass-forming composition region was also determined. Contrary to the results of the quaternary ammonium type of ionic liquid, N,N-diethyl-N-methyl-N-(2-methoxyethyl) ammonium tetrafluoroborate–H2O mixed solutions, we did not observed the multiple glass transition behaviour. We also measured the glassy Raman spectra of the solutions at T = 77 K. We find that the “nearly free” hydrogen bonded Raman band of water molecules in the aqueous [bmim][BF4] solution exists up to around x = 60 mol% H2O, even at T = 77 K.  相似文献

Large-effective-area ten-core fiber with cladding diameter of about 200 μm   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A multicore fiber with two-pitch layout is proposed to overcome the trade-off between core number and a cladding diameter of a standard hexagonal layout with a single-core pitch. A fabricated ten-core fiber simultaneously realizes effective area of about 120 μm(2) at 1550 nm, small crosstalk, and cladding diameter of 204 μm. The crosstalk between the center core and outer cores is about 30 dB smaller than that between outer cores. The small crosstalk of the center core would help to keep the transmission quality of the center core at the same level as that of the outer cores.  相似文献

Combining electrical stimulation with fMRI (esfMRI) has proven to be an important tool to study the global effects of electrical stimulation on neural networks in the brain. Here we extend our previous studies to stimulating the upper superior temporal sulcus (STS) in the anesthetized monkey. Our results show that stimulating area V5/MT and surrounding areas leads to positive BOLD responses in the majority of cortical areas known to receive direct/monosynaptic connections from the stimulation site. We confirm our previous results from stimulating primary visual cortex that the propagation of electrically induced activity is limited in its transsynaptic propagation to the first synapse also for extrastriate areas.  相似文献

We have recently used combined electrostimulation, neurophysiology, microinjection and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to study the cortical activity patterns elicited during stimulation of cortical afferents in monkeys. We found that stimulation of a site in lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) increases the fMRI signal in the regions of primary visual cortex receiving input from that site, but suppresses it in the retinotopically matched regions of extrastriate cortex. Intracortical injection experiments showed that such suppression is due to synaptic inhibition. During these experiments, we have consistently observed activation of superior colliculus (SC) following LGN stimulation. Since LGN does not directly project to SC, the current study investigated the origin of SC activation. By examining experimental manipulations inactivating the primary visual cortex, we present here evidence that the robust SC activation, which follows the stimulation of LGN, is due to the activation of corticocollicular pathway.  相似文献

Three crystallization methods for growing large high-quality protein crystals, i.e. crystallization in the presence of a semi-solid agarose gel, top-seeded solution growth (TSSG) and a large-scale hanging-drop method, have previously been presented. In this study the effectiveness of crystallization in the presence of a semi-solid agarose gel has been further evaluated by crystallizing additional proteins in the presence of 2.0% (w/v) agarose gel, resulting in complete gelification with high mechanical strength. In TSSG the seed crystals are hung by a seed holder protruding from the top of the growth vessel to prevent polycrystallization. In the large-scale hanging-drop method, a cut pipette tip was used to maintain large-scale droplets consisting of protein-precipitant solution. Here a novel crystallization method that combines TSSG and the large-scale hanging-drop method is reported. A large and single crystal of lysozyme was obtained by this method.  相似文献
