The optical spectra of a series of core-modified tetrabenzoporphyrins were analyzed to determine the effects of core modification, ligand folding, and partial benzo substitution at the ligand periphery on the electronic structure by using magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) and NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry, and TD-DFT calculations. Planar 21-carba-, 21-thia-, 21,23-dithia-, and 21-oxa-23-thiatetrabenzo[b,g,l,q]porphyrins reported previously were studied together with the previously unreported 21-oxa- and 21-carba-23-thiatetrabenzo[b,g,l,q]porphyrins. The optical properties of these compounds are compared to those of tetrabenzo[b,g,l,q]-, 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl-, 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyltetrabenzo[b,g,l,q]-21-thia-, 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyltetrabenzodithia-, 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyldibenzo[g,q]-21,23-dithia-, 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyldibenzo[b,l]-21,23-dithia-, 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyltribenzo[g,q,l]-21-thia-, and 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylbenzo[b]-21-thiaporphyrins. Michl's perimeter model and Gouterman's four-orbital model are used to conceptualize the results and to account for red shifts commonly observed in the spectral bands of nonplanar porphyrinoids.  相似文献

Alternative oxidase (AOX) is a nonproton motive quinol–oxygen oxidoreductase which is a component of the mitochondrial respiratory chain in higher plants. In this study, we have characterized the catalytic activity and regulatory behaviors of Arum concinnatum AOX isoforms, namely AcoAOX1a and AcoAOX1b, and their artificial mutants in HeLa cells. We demonstrated that substitution of the motif-like sequence ENV on the C-terminal half of AcoAOX1a for QDT diminishes its activity and proposed that the innate inactivity of AcoAOX1b in HeLa cells is, at least in part, attributable to its QDT motif. Furthermore, we show that introduction of F130L in the hydrophilic N-terminal extension of AcoAOX1a resulted in greater activity in the presence of pyruvate. This result indicates that functional significance of the N-terminal extension is not particular to the conventional regulatory cysteine. On the basis of these findings, we discuss new insights into the structural integrity of AOX in HeLa cells and the applicability of mammalian cells for functional analysis of this enzyme.  相似文献

The deterioration of zinc, zinc—calcium and manganese phosphate coatings and oxalate coatings on steel on heating was investigated by conversion electron Mössbauer spectrometry. and the chemical change of the coatings was analysed on the basis of the thermal characteristics of Zn3(PO4)2·4H2O, Zn2Fe(PO4)4·4H2O, CaZn2(PO4)2·2H2O, Fe3(PO4)2·8H2O. (Mn, Fe)5H2(PO4)4·4H2O and FeC2O4·2H2O. The steel substrate beneath the coatings influenced the thermal decomposition and evaporation of coating materials under the various heating atmospheres. The heat resistance of these coatings and the state of the substrate were also investigated.  相似文献

The radical polymerization of diallyl ether (DAE) with sulfur dioxide produced soluble copolymers whose composition was between 1:1 and 2:1 in SO2. The overall rate was maximum at a 2:1 feed composition in SO2. A cyclocopolymerization scheme, which was based on cross propagations and the intramolecular cyclization of DAE radical, was applied. The energy of activation was larger for the uncyclized DAE radical in undergoing the cross propagation with SO2 than in undergoing the intramolecular cyclization with the pendent allylic group by 40 kJ/mol. Formation of rings made of DAE and SO2 and 3,4-disubstituted-tetrahydrofuran rings by the cyclized DAE units on the main chain was proposed on the basis of the 1H-NMR spectra.  相似文献

Photopolymerization of cadmium 10,12-pentacosadiynoate (CdDA) in Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films, with the molecular packing well arranged by moderate preannealing, was investigated with near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy. Greenish films of polydiacetylene with an absorption wavelength of 705 nm were obtained through the photopolymerization of preannealed monomer LB films, and this resulted in an extended π-conjugate system based on the well-ordered monomer in a two-dimensional arrangement. The electronic structures of the polydiacetylenes were found to be correlated to the variation of the molecular arrangements in the films from the changes in the NEXAFS spectra through photopolymerization in the LB films. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In order to elucidate the distributions of the elements among the particulate and dissolved fractions in pond water, major-to-ultratrace elements in different sizes of particles as well as in the filtrate passed through the 0.05 microm filter were determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The different sizes of particle samples (ca. 100-300 microg each) were collected on the membrane filters with pore sizes of 10, 3.0, 1.2, 0.4, 0.2 and 0.05 microm, respectively, by sequential fractionation. As a result, about 40 elements in different sizes of particles could be determined by ICP-AES and ICP-MS, after acid digestion using HNO3/HF/HClO4. Then, the fractional distribution factors of major-to-ultratrace elements among the particulate and dissolved fractions were estimated from the analytical results. The total contents of Al, Fe, Ti, REEs (rare earth elements), Bi, Pb and Ag in the particulate fractions (larger than 0.05 microm) were more than 80-90%, while those of Ca, Sr, Cs, W, Ba, Mn and Co in the dissolved fraction, which corresponded to the filtrate passed through the 0.05 microm membrane filter, were more than 80%. It was further found that the fractional distributions of Cu and Zn in the dissolved fraction were ca. 50%. In addition, the enrichment factors (EFs) of the elements in the particulate fractions with particle sizes of 3.0-10 microm and 0.05-0.2 microm were estimated to elucidate their geochemical characteristics in natural water.  相似文献

The dependency of LPE growth rate and dislocation density on supersaturation in the growth of GaN single crystals in the Na flux was investigated. When the growth rate was low during the growth of GaN at a small value of supersaturation, the dislocation density was much lower compared with that of a substrate grown by the Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition method (MOCVD). In contrast, when the growth rate of GaN was high at a large value of supersaturation, the crystal was hopper including a large number of dislocations. The relationship between the growth conditions and the crystal color in GaN single crystals grown in Na flux was also investigated. When at 800 °C the nitrogen concentration in Na–Ga melt was low, the grown crystals were always tinted black. When the nitrogen concentration at 850 °C was high, transparent crystals could be grown.  相似文献
