Results from the study of a highly overdoped (OD) Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) with a T(c) = 51 K using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy are presented. We observe a sharp peak in the spectra near ( pi,0) that persists well above T(c), a nodal self-energy which approaches that seen for the Mo(110) surface state, and a more k-independent line shape at the Fermi surface than the lower-doped cuprates. This allows for a realistic comparison of the lifetime values to the experimental resistivity measurements. These observations point to the validity of the quasiparticle picture for the OD even in the normal state.  相似文献

D-Penicillamine (2-amino-3-mercapto-3-methylbutanoic acid), a well-known heavy metal chelator, is the drug of choice in the treatment of Wilson's disease and is also effective for the treatment of several disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, primary biliary cirrhosis, scleroderma, fibrotic lung diseases and progressive systemic sclerosis. The method proposed incorporates a technique, previously developed in our laboratory, that utilizes the derivatizing agent N-(1-pyrenyl)maleimide (NPM) and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The coefficients of variation for within-run precision and between-run precision for 500 nM standard D-penicillamine (D-pen) were 2.27% and 2.23%, respectively. Female Sprague-Dawley rats were given 1 g/kg D-pen i.p. and the amounts of D-pen in liver, kidney, brain and plasma were subsequently analyzed. This assay is rapid, sensitive and reproducible for determining D-pen in biological samples.  相似文献

A group of flavanones and their chalcones, isolated from Boesenbergia rotunda L., were previously reported to show varying degrees of noncompetitive inhibitory activities toward Dengue virus type 2 (Den2) protease. Results obtained from automated docking studies are in agreement with experimental data in which the ligands were shown to bind to sites other than the active site of the protease. The calculated K(i) values are very small, indicating that the ligands bind quite well to the allosteric binding site. Greater inhibition by pinostrobin, compared to the other compounds, can be explained by H-bonding interaction with the backbone carbonyl of Lys74, which is bonded to Asp75 (one of the catalytic triad residues). In addition, structure-activity relationship analysis yields structural information that may be useful for designing more effective therapeutic drugs against dengue virus infections.  相似文献

The paper deals with asymptotic behavior of viscoplastic solutions in the vicinity of maximum friction surfaces under plane strain conditions. The definition of maximum friction surfaces is that the friction stress is equal to the shear yield stress at sliding. The constitutive equations of the viscoplastic model adopted include a saturation stress. It is shown that it is possible to choose parameters of the viscoplastic model such that the regime of sliding is possible at maximum friction surfaces. In this case solutions are singular in the vicinity of such surfaces. Because of this feature of solutions, the viscoplastic model chosen possesses a smooth transition of qualitative behavior between rigid perfectly plastic and viscoplastic solutions, and this may prove to be advantageous for some applications.  相似文献

This work reports the synthesis and characterization of a hybrid molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) membrane for removal of methylene blue (MB) in an aqueous environment. MB-MIP powders were hybridized into a polymer membrane (cellulose acetate (CA) and polysulfone (PSf)) after it was ground and sieved (using 90 μm sieve). MB-MIP membranes were prepared using a phase inversion process. The MB-MIP membranes were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Parameters investigated for the removal of MB by using membrane MB-MIP include pH, effect of time, concentration of MB, and selectivity studies. Maximum sorption of MB by PSf-MB-MIP membranes and CA-MB-MIP membranes occurred at pH 10 and pH 12, respectively. The kinetic study showed that the sorption of MB by MB-MIP membranes (PSf-MB-MIP and CA-MB-MIP) followed a pseudo-second-order-model and the MB sorption isotherm can be described by a Freundlich isotherm model.  相似文献

Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and neutron activation analysis (NAA) were employed in the determination of heavy metal concentrations in water, plant and sediment samples to assess the extent of heavy metal pollution in a river system which is located within an industrial zone. Elemental concentrations of As, Pb, Hg, Cr, Cu, Cd, Ni and Zn were measured in the samples. Statistical analysis was performed on the data obtained to look for trends in the pollution pattern of these elements on the river system. The trend in concentrations of heavy metals pollution in water samples is in the order of Zn > Cu > Ni > Cr > As > Pb > Hg > Cd, whereas in plants the order is Zn > Cr > Cu > Pb > Ni > As > Hg > Cd and in sediments Zn > Cu > Pb > Ni > As > Hg.  相似文献

A simple and flexible method was used to develop new alkaline polymer catalyst through radiation induced grafting of glycidylmethacrylate (GMA) onto polyethylene/polypropylene (PE/PP) nonwoven sheet followed by amination reaction and alkalisation. The chemical structure and morphology of catalyst was evaluated by Fourier transform-infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA). The catalyst was examined for the transesterification of triacetin/methanol mixtures in a batch mode and the obtained methyl ester was detected by GC-MS. In order to optimize the reaction parameters towards getting the higher yield, an artificial neural network (ANN) was used to develop a non-linear model correlating the four independent reaction parameters including catalyst dosage, triacetin/methanol molar ratio, reaction time and temperature. The maximum conversion obtained via the simulated annealing (SA) algorithm was 86.2% at the optimal conditions of 5.01 wt% catalyst dosage, triacetin/methanol 1:12 molar ratio, 8 h reaction time and 62.8°C temperature. Upon using these optimal conditions in the experimental reaction, the conversion of as high as 85% was achieved. These results suggest that the simply modified low cost PE/PP fibrous sheet has a potential to catalyze biodiesel production. Moreover, the combined ANN-SA modelling method is highly effective in predicting the conversion of transesterification reaction and optimizing its parameters.  相似文献

In toxicological analysis, the analytical validation method is important to assess the exact risk of contaminants of emerging concern in the environment. Syringe filters are mainly used to remove impurities from sample solutions. However, the loss of analyte to the syringe filter could be considerable, causing an underestimate of the analyte concentrations. The current study develops and validates simultaneous liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis using a direct filtration method to detect four groups of contaminants of emerging concern. The adsorption of the analyte onto three different matrices and six types of syringe filters is reported. The lowest adsorption of analytes was observed in methanol (16.72%), followed by deionized water (48.19%) and filtered surface lake water (48.94%). Irrespective of the type of the matrices, the lowest average adsorption by the syringe filter was observed in the 0.45 μm polypropylene membrane (15.15%), followed by the 0.20 μm polypropylene membrane (16.10%), the 0.20 μm regenerated cellulose (16.15%), the 0.20 μm polytetrafluoroethylene membrane (47.38%), the 0.45 μm nylon membrane (64.87%) and the 0.20 μm nylon membrane (71.30%). In conclusion, the recommended syringe filter membranes for contaminants of emerging concern analysis are polypropylene membranes and regenerated cellulose, regardless of the matrix used.  相似文献

Particle deposition on the surface of a drying chamber is the main drawback in the spray drying process, reducing product recovery and affecting the quality of the product. In view of this, the potential application of chemical surface modification to produce a hydrophobic surface that reduces the powder adhesion (biofouling) on the wall of the drying chamber is investigated in this study. A hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) solution was used in the vertical dipping method at room temperature to determine the optimum coating parameters on borosilicate glass and stainless steel substrates, which were used to mimic the wall surface of the drying chamber, to achieve highly hydrophobic surfaces. A single-factor experiment was used to define the range of the PDMS concentration and treatment duration using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The Central Composite Rotatable Design (CCRD) was used to study the effects of the concentration of the PDMS solution (X1, %) and the treatment duration (X2, h) on the contact angle of the substrates (°), which reflected the hydrophobicity of the surface. A three-dimensional response surface was constructed to examine the influence of the PDMS concentration and treatment duration on contact angle readings, which serve as an indicator of the surface’s hydrophobic characteristics. Based on the optimisation study, the PDMS coating for the borosilicate glass achieved an optimum contact angle of 99.33° through the combination of a PDMS concentration of X1 = 1% (w/v) and treatment time of X2 = 4.94 h, while the PDMS coating for the stainless steel substrate achieved an optimum contact angle of 98.31° with a PDMS concentration of X1 = 1% (w/v) and treatment time of X2 = 1 h. Additionally, the infrared spectra identified several new peaks that appeared on the PDMS-treated surfaces, which represented the presence of Si-O-Si, Si-CH3, CH2, and CH3 functional groups for the substrates coated with PDMS. Furthermore, the surface morphology analysis using the Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) showed the presence of significant roughness and a uniform nanostructure on the surface of the PDMS-treated substrates, which indicates the reduction in wettability and the potential effect of unwanted biofouling on the spray drying chamber. The application of PDMS and PTFE on the optimally coated substrates successfully reduced the amount of full cream milk particles that adhered to the surface. The low surface energy of the treated surface (19–27 mJ/m2) and the slightly higher surface tension of the full cream milk (54–59 mJ/m2) resulted in a high contact angle (102–103°) and reduced the adhesion work on the treated substrates (41–46 mJ/m2) as compared to the native substrates.  相似文献

An investigation was conducted to study the effect of solvent composition and temperature on the efficiency of pretreatment prior to enzymatic hydrolysis. The aim was to improve the sugar recovery of oil palm empty fruit bunch fiber (EFBF) through enzymatic hydrolysis. Two types of pretreatments, namely, acidified-glycerol (AC-g) pretreatment and alkaline-glycerol (AL-g) pretreatment were conducted. The study proved that AL-g pretreatment promoted higher delignification and enzymatic hydrolyzed sugar yield compared to AC-g pretreatment. Total sugar recovery of 81.44 and 96.55 % was achieved from AL-g pretreatment at 80 and 120 °C respectively, following the enzymatic hydrolysis. However, downstream industrial processes, involving enzyme treatment along the processing line have the preference of acidic condition. Thus, AC-g pretreatment was favorable. Approximately 51.74 % total sugar had been recovered successfully from enzymatic hydrolysis of EFBF after 3 h of pretreatment by using solvent comprising of 50 % acetic acid and 80 % aqueous glycerol at a ratio of 97:3 at 120 °C.  相似文献
