Matrix isolation infrared spectroscopy has been applied to study an ozone-water complex of atmospheric interest. The complex was identified in the spectral region of three normal modes of ozone and water. Ab initio calculation at MP4(SDQ), QCISD, and CCSD(T) levels indicates the existence of only one stable conformer, which accords with the present experimental result. This conformer belongs to the Cs symmetry group where two molecular planes of ozone and water are perpendicular to the Cs symmetry plane. The binding energy was calculated to be 1.89 kcal/mol at the CCSD(T)/6-311++G(3df,3pd)//CCSD(T)/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory. The formation constant and atmospheric abundance of the ozone-water complex are estimated using the thermodynamic and spectroscopic data obtained.  相似文献

Chemically induced dynamic electron polarization (CIDEP) of galvinoxyl was measured in various excited molecule-galvinoxyl systems prepared by laser photolysis. Most of the systems examined showed net emission CIDEP, which is well explained by the quartet precursor radical-triplet pair mechanism with exchange interaction,J, of negative sign (quartet is higher than doublet). Several systems with molecules such as naphthalene, quinoxaline, biphenyl and triphenylene, however, showed net absorption CIDEP. Time profiles of CIDEP and kinetic analysis of quenching suggest that net absorption CIDEP is generated during the triplet quenching process by the galvinoxyl radical. We conclude that the net absorption CIDEP is produced during the triplet quenching if theJ value of radical-triplet encounter pair is positive. This is the first report of the radical-triplet encounter pairs with positiveJ value. The mechanism for this unusual positive sign ofJ value is discussed on the basis of the spin-selective configuration interaction between the doublet spin correlated states of radical-triplet and charge transfer encounter pairs.  相似文献

The presence of large amounts of nondiamond carbon in detonation-synthesized nanodiamond (ND) severely limits applications of this exciting nanomaterial. We report on a simple and environmentally friendly route involving oxidation in air to selectively remove sp(2)-bonded carbon from ND. Thermogravimetric analysis and in situ Raman spectroscopy shows that sp(2) and sp(3) carbon species oxidize with different rates at 375-450 degrees C and reveals a narrow temperature range of 400-430 degrees C in which the oxidation of sp(2)-bonded carbon occurs with no or minimal loss of diamond. X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectroscopy detects an increase of up to 2 orders of magnitude in the sp(3)/sp(2) ratio after oxidation. The content of up to 96% of sp(3)-bonded carbon in the oxidized samples is comparable to that found in microcrystalline diamond and is unprecedented for ND powders. Transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy studies show high purity 5-nm ND particles covered by oxygen-containing surface functional groups. The surface functionalization can be controlled by subsequent treatments (e.g., hydrogenization). In contrast to current purification techniques, the air oxidation process does not require the use of toxic or aggressive chemicals, catalysts, or inhibitors and opens avenues for numerous new applications of nanodiamond.  相似文献

Sarcospan is a 25 kDa transmembrane component of dystrophin-associated glycoprotein. We generated a rabbit polyclonal antibody against synthetic peptide of the N-terminal domain of human sarcospan. Using this antibody we investigated the localization of sarcospan and its spacial relation to the components of sarcoglycan subcomplex in normal human skeletal myofibers by immunofluorescent microscopy and immunogold electron microscopy. In immunofluorescence the reaction was observed continuously at the myofiber surface. Ultrastructurally the gold signals of rabbit anti sarcospan antibody were present along the muscle plasma membrane, mainly at its inside surface. The triple immunogold labeled muscle samples showed that the signals of rabbit or sheep polyclonal anti alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-sarcoglycan antibodies and/or mouse monoclonal anti beta-, gamma- and delta-sarcoglycan antibodies were located along the muscle plasma membrane, and the cluster formation of different two or three sarcoglycan molecules was observed. The triple immunogold labeling also revealed that the signal of sarcospan molecules are present frequently in doublets and/or triplets with the components of sarcoglycan subcomplex, resulting in the cluster formation of signals of sarcoglycan and sarcospan molecules. The result of this study showed that sarcospan was expressed at the myofiber surface and that sarcospan was present in close association with alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-sarcoglycans and formed a functional unit with sarcoglycan subcomplex.  相似文献

A nitroxyl-radical-catalyzed oxidation of alcohols using diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (DIAD) as the terminal oxidant is reported. A variety of primary and secondary alcohols including aliphatic, benzylic, and allylic alcohols are efficiently oxidized to their corresponding aldehydes and ketones without overoxidation to carboxylic acid. 1,2-Diols are oxidized to hydroxyl ketones or diketones depending on the amount of DIAD used.  相似文献

To obtain a melt‐processable thermosetting polyimide having a high glass‐transition temperature (Tg) and good solvent resistance, the effect of introducing a crosslinkable agent into the polymer chain ends of the melt‐processable polyimide on its physical properties was studied. The polyimide (calculated number‐average molecular weight (Mn) = 11,600 g/mol) capped with the crosslinkable agent exhibited poor melt flowability because its crosslinkable agent reacted at the processing temperature of 360 °C. To reduce the rate of crosslink reaction, two methods were investigated. One was lowering the processing temperature, and the other was decreasing the amount of crosslinkable agent. The low‐molecular‐weight oligomer (calculated Mn = 6300 g/mol) capped with the crosslinkable agent exhibited good melt flowability at the lower processing temperature of 340 °C where the crosslinkable agent did not react. However, the obtained molded part of this oligomer was too brittle to maintain its shape. However, the polyimide (calculated Mn = 11,600 g/mol) partially capped with the crosslinkable agent demonstrated good melt flowability at the processing temperature of 360 °C. Furthermore, the molded part of this resin was strong and tough. In addition, the cured part exhibited high Tg and good solvent resistance. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
