In this paper, we formulate two classes of problems, the colored range query problems and the colored point enclosure query problems to model multi-dimensional range and point enclosure queries in the presence of categorical information. Many of these problems are difficult to solve using traditional data structural techniques. Based on a new framework of combining sketching techniques and traditional data structures, we obtain two sets of results in solving the problems approximately and efficiently. In addition, the framework can be employed to attack other related problems by finding the appropriate summary structures.  相似文献

A multicriteria Boolean programming problem with linear cost functions in which initial coefficients of the cost functions are subject to perturbations is considered. For any optimal alternative, with respect to parameterized principle of optimality “from Condorcet to Pareto”, appropriate measures of the quality are introduced. These measures correspond to the so-called stability and accuracy functions defined earlier for optimal solutions of a generic multicriteria combinatorial optimization problem with Pareto and lexicographic optimality principles. Various properties of such functions are studied and maximum norms of perturbations for which an optimal alternative preserves its optimality are calculated. To illustrate the way how the stability and accuracy functions can be used as efficient tools for post-optimal analysis, an application from the voting theory is considered.  相似文献

We reduce the solution of contact problems in the interaction of rigid bodies (dies) with thin-walled elements (one-dimensional problems) to Volterra integral equations. We study the effect of the model describing the stress-strain state of plates on the type of integral equations and the structure of their solutions. It is shown that taking account of reducing turns the problem into a Volterra integral equation of second kind, which has a unique solution that is continuous and agrees quite well with the results obtained from the three-dimensional theory. In the case of a theory of Timoshenko type the problem is reduced to a Volterra three-dimensional theory. In the case of a theory of Timoshenko type the problem is reduced to a Volterra integral equation of first kind that has a unique continuous solution; but for dies without corners the Herz condition does not hold (p(a) ≠ 0), and the contact pressure assumes its maximal value at the end of the zone of contact. For thin-walled elements, whose state can be described by the classical Kirchhoff-Love theory, the integral equation of the problem (a Volterra equation of first kind) has a solution in the class of distributions. The contact pressure is reduced to concentrated reactions at the extreme points of the contact zone. We give a comparative analysis of the solutions in all the cases just listed (forces, normal displacements, contact pressures). Three figures, 1 table. Bibliography: 5 titles. The toxicity of ferrocenylethyl benzotriazole ( 1 ) and other ferrocene compounds including ferrocenylmethyl benzimidazoles ( 4,5,6,11 ), ferricenium salts ( 3,9,10 ) and ferrocenylmethyl adenine ( 7 ), was studied. All ferrocene complexes under investigation showed low or medium toxicities. On the basis of an earlier model of chemical carcinogenesis, the antitumor activity of ferrocenylalkyl azoles 1, 8 and ferricenium salts 9, 10 was studied in vivo in the so‐called sub‐capsular test on human tumors. This effectiveness was compared with that of cisplatin. A series of ferrocenylalkyl azoles were synthesized by interacting azoles either with α‐hydroxyalkyl ferrocenes FcC(OH)R1R2 in organic solvent in the presence of aqueous HBF4 in quantitative yields or with trimethyl(aminomethyl)ferrocene iodide in an aqueous‐basic medium in good yields. The X‐ray determinations of molecular and crystal structures of α‐(1‐benzotriazolyl)ethylferrocene ( 1 ) and α‐(1‐naphthatriazolyl)ethylferrocene ( 12 ) were performed. The main issue we address in the present paper are the new models for completely nonunitary contractions with rank one defect operators acting on some Hilbert space of dimension N?∞. These models complement nicely the well-known models of Livšic and Sz.-Nagy-Foias. We show that each such operator acting on some finite-dimensional (respectively, separable infinite-dimensional Hilbert space) is unitarily equivalent to some finite (respectively semi-infinite) truncated CMV matrix obtained from the “full” CMV matrix by deleting the first row and the first column, and acting in CN (respectively ?2(N)). This result can be viewed as a nonunitary version of the famous characterization of unitary operators with a simple spectrum due to Cantero, Moral and Velázquez, as well as an analog for contraction operators of the result from [Yu. Arlinski?, E. Tsekanovski?, Non-self-adjoint Jacobi matrices with a rank-one imaginary part, J. Funct. Anal. 241 (2006) 383-438] concerning dissipative non-self-adjoint operators with a rank one imaginary part. It is shown that another functional model for contractions with rank one defect operators takes the form of the compression f(ζ)→PK(ζf(ζ)) on the Hilbert space L2(T,dμ) with a probability measure μ onto the subspace K=L2(T,dμ)?C. The relationship between characteristic functions of sub-matrices of the truncated CMV matrix with rank one defect operators and the corresponding Schur iterates is established. We develop direct and inverse spectral analysis for finite and semi-infinite truncated CMV matrices. In particular, we study the problem of reconstruction of such matrices from their spectrum or the mixed spectral data involving Schur parameters. It is pointed out that if the mixed spectral data contains zero eigenvalue, then no solution, unique solution or infinitely many solutions may occur in the inverse problem for truncated CMV matrices. The uniqueness theorem for recovered truncated CMV matrix from the given mixed spectral data is established. In this part the paper is closely related to the results of Hochstadt and Gesztesy-Simon obtained for finite self-adjoint Jacobi matrices.  相似文献

The first infinite families of symmetric designs were obtained from finite projective geometries, Hadamard matrices, and difference sets. In this paper we describe two general methods of constructing symmetric designs that give rise to the parameters of all other known infinite families of symmetric designs. The method of global decomposition produces an incidence matrix of a symmetric design as a block matrix with each block being a zero matrix or an incidence matrix of a smaller symmetric design. The method of local decomposition represents incidence matrices of a residual and a derived design of a symmetric design as block matrices with each block being a zero matrix or an incidence matrix of a smaller residual or derived design, respectively.  相似文献
