The term "quantum carpet" can be observed in many closed quantum systems, where the evolution of a wave function exhibits a carpet-like pattern. Quantum carpet mechanisms are also akin to the classical interference patterns of light. Although the origins of quantum carpets have previously been studied by various researchers, many interesting details are still worth exploring. In this study, we present a unified framework for simultaneously analyzing three different features of quantum carpets: full revival,fractional revival, and diagonal canal. For the fractional revival feature, a complete formula is presented to explain its formation through Gaussian sum theory, in which all essential features, including phases and amplitudes, are captured analytically. We also reveal important relationships between the interference terms of diagonal canals and their geometric interpretations such that a better understanding of the development of diagonal canals can be supported. 相似文献

We reported the characteristics of p‐type tin‐oxide (SnO) thin film transistors (TFTs) upon illumination with visible light. Our p‐type TFT device using the SnO film as the active channel layer exhibits high sensitivity toward the blue‐light with a high light/dark read current ratio (Ilight/Idark) of 8.2 × 103 at a very low driven voltage of <3 V. Since sensing of blue‐light radiation is very critical to our eyes, the proposed p‐type SnO TFTs with high sensitivity toward the blue‐light show great potential for future blue‐light detection applications.

The conversion of methane into alcohols under moderate reaction conditions is a promising technology for converting stranded methane reserves into liquids that can be transported in pipelines and upgraded to value‐added chemicals. We demonstrate that a catalyst consisting of small nickel oxide clusters supported on ceria–zirconia (NiO/CZ) can convert methane to methanol and ethanol in a single, steady‐state process at 723 K using O2 as an abundantly available oxidant. The presence of steam is required to obtain alcohols rather than CO2 as the product of catalytic combustion. The unusual activity of this catalyst is attributed to the synergy between the small Lewis acidic NiO clusters and the redox‐active CZ support, which also stabilizes the small NiO clusters. 相似文献

A tantalum pentoxide‐based (Ta2O5‐based) micro‐ring all‐optical modulator was fabricated. The refractive index inside the micro‐ring cavity was modified using the Kerr effect by injecting a pumped pulse. The transmittance of the ring resonator was controlled to achieve all‐optical modulation at the wavelength of the injected probe. When 12 GHz pulses with a peak power of 1.2 W were coupled in the ring cavity, the transmission spectrum of the Ta2O5 resonator was red‐shifted by 0.04 nm because of the Kerr effect. The relationship between the modulation depth and gap of the Ta2O5 directional coupler is discussed. An optimized gap of 1100 nm was obtained, and a maximum buildup factor of 11.7 with 84% modulation depth was achieved. The nonlinear refractive index of Ta2O5 at 1.55 μm was estimated as 3.4 × 10?14 cm2/W based on the Kerr effect, which is almost an order of magnitude higher than that of Si3N4. All results indicate that Ta2O5 has potential for use in nonlinear waveguide applications with modulation speeds as high as tens of GHz.

New conjugated copolymers, P1‐P3 , based on dithiafulvalene‐fused entity and different conjugated segments have been synthesized. Incorporation of electron‐deficient conjugated segments into the conjugated copolymers results in red shifting the absorption band and lowering the hole mobility. Bulk heterojunction solar cells using on these polymers as the donor and [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61 ‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) as the acceptor were fabricated by solution process. The cells based on the blend of P1‐P3 /PC61BM (1:1, w/w) have power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) ranging from 0.53 to 0.93%. Among these, the cell of P1 /PC61BM exhibited the highest open‐circuit voltage at 0.85 V, and the cell of P3/PC61BM exhibited the best PCE at 0.93% with the short‐circuit current (JSC) of 4.88 mA/cm2. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. To study the transport properties of individual helical polyacetylene (PA) fibers, we developed a method to extract a single fiber from tightly entangled ropes of helical PA bulk film. After a few minutes of sonication of a piece of helical PA bulk film in an organic solution containing surfactant, a droplet of solution is deposited on the pre-pattened electrode under argon atmosphere. AFM images show that extracted helical PA fibers are typically 10 mum in length and 100-200 nm in diameter. We found that the helicity of bulk materials is conserved. We present the temperature dependencies of current-voltage characteristics of individual helical PA fibers doped with iodine. 相似文献

Design and performance evaluation of an ultrasonic motor was discussed in [Wen et al., Thin-disc piezoelectric ultrasonic motor. Part I: design and performance evaluation, Ultrasonics]. Higher precision position control of piezoceramic ultrasonic motor depends on mechanical design and servo control of a very precise and adequate metrology. This paper proposes the design of a driving circuit and controller to deal with non-linearities behavior in the model of piezoceramic-driving ultrasonic motor. The performance of the driver and the effectiveness of the proposed controller are demonstrated by command inputs of sinusoidal and step signals. For comparison purpose, the ultrasonic motor is controlled using two methods: i.e., proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and sliding-mode control (SMC). It was proven that SMC would compensate automatically for unmodeled behaviors such as piezoceramic non-linearities and mechanical stick-slip phenomena. Furthermore, SMC scheme has been successfully applied to position tracking to demonstrate the excellent robust performance in noise rejection. 相似文献
