The polyelectrolyte titration, which was originally called colloid titration, is based on the stoichiometric reaction between positively charged colloidal particles and negatively charged ones. In the conventional method, the metachromatic color change of the indicator, toluidine blue, from blue to red-purple has been applied for the determination of the end point in the titration. 2.5 × 10?3N potassium polyvinylsulfonate (KPVS) is usually used as the standard titrant. In this work, fluorescent indicators such as 6-(p-toluidino)-2-naphthalene sulfonate (TNS), acridine orange, etc., have been introduced. The fluorescence intensity was measured using the spectrophotometer equipped with magnetic stirrer and connected with a vinyl tube attached to the hand piston burette. For example, TNS is practically nonfluorescent, but it exhibits strong fluorescence when it is bound to a cationic polyelectrolyte (CP). The fluorescence of the TNS–CP complex is diminished by titration with KPVS standard solution since TNS is liberated from the complex by substitution with KPVS. After the equivalent point, the fluorescence intensity becomes constant and the end point can thus be detected by that point. It has been elucidated that the very dilute standard solution like 1 × 10?4N can be used because the sensitivity of fluorescence detection is extremely high. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Cp(2)Sm(thf)(2) was found to be an efficient catalyst for the acylation of alcohols and amines with esters under mild conditions. In the present acylation, vinyl and isopropenyl acetates served as good acylating agents. Thus, a variety of alcohols and amines underwent acylation with vinyl and isopropenyl acetates in the presence of Cp(2)Sm(thf)(2) to give the corresponding esters and amides in good to excellent yields. This catalytic acylation of alcohols and amines offers an additional useful method by the use of various esters, instead of acid anhydrides and acid chlorides, as acylating agents under very mild conditions.  相似文献

A series of symmetrical chiral phase‐transfer catalysts with 4,4′,6,6′‐tetrasubstituted binaphthyl units have been designed, and these aryl‐ and trialkylsilyl‐substituted phase‐transfer catalysts, which included a highly fluorinated catalyst, were prepared. The chiral efficiency of these chiral phase‐transfer catalysts was investigated in the asymmetric alkylation of tert‐butylglycinate–benzophenone Schiff base under mild phase‐transfer conditions, and the eminent substituent effect of the 4,4′,6,6′‐positions of the binaphthyl units on enantioselection was observed. In particular, the OctMe2Si‐substituted catalyst was found to be highly efficient for the phase‐transfer alkylation of tert‐butylglycinate–benzophenone Schiff base with various alkyl halides, including sec‐alkyl halides. The highly fluorinated catalyst was also utilized as a recyclable chiral phase‐transfer catalyst by simple extraction with fluorous solvents.  相似文献

Relative sensitivities of endospores of Bacillus pumilus E601, B. subtilis IAM1069, B. megaterium S31 and B. brevis S5 to gamma rays, converted X rays (bremsstrahlung) and electron beams were examined in order to estimate the conditions in which converted X rays kill Bacillus spores. The radiation sensitivities to gamma rays and electron beams of each strain dried on glass fiber filter without additives were found to be almost equivalent, and D values were obtained as follows: 1.5–1.6 kGy for B. pumilus, 1.4–1.5 kGy for B. subtilis, 1.9–2.0 kGy for B. megaterium and 1.6–2.0 kGy for B. brevis. The radiation sensitivities of endospores of each strain to electron beams were slightly lower than those to gamma rays in the dry condition with additives of 2% peptone + 1 % glycerin on glass fiber filters. The increase of radiation resistance in the presence of additives was also observed with X rays, and it was on an intermediate level between those with gamma rays and electron beams. In the dry condition using cellulose filter paper, only the radiation resistances of B. megaterium and B. brevis in the presence of additives B. megaterium and B. brevis in the presence of additives were increased.  相似文献

The complexation behavior of 6-amino-6-deoxy-γ-cyclodextrin (CD), 6A,6X-diamino-6A,6X-deoxy-γ-CDs and 3A-amino-3A-deoxy-altro-γ-CD with 2-anthracenecarboxylic acid (AC) was studied by NMR, UV–vis and circular dichroism spectroscopy. These modified γ-CD derivatives were found to form stable 1:2 host-guest ternary complexes with AC in aqueous solution. Compared with native γ-CD, the primary-face-aminated γ-CDs exhibited remarkably enhanced overall association constants as a result of the additional electrostatic interactions between the oppositely charged host and guest. In contrast, the ternary complex formation of the secondary-face-aminated γ-CD with AC was hindered.  相似文献
