Cationic iron complexes are effective catalysts for intramolecular hydroalkoxylation for unactivated olefins under mild conditions to form the corresponding cyclic ethers in excellent yield.     

On stationary Navier-Stokes flows in 2D semi-infinite channel involving the general outflow condition

Summary We consider the stationary Navier-Stokes equations in a certain type of semi-infinite channel under the general outflow condition. Assuming that the domain and the data are symmetric with respect to a straight line, the axis of symmetry, and that the axis intersects every component of the boundary, we show the existence of solutions and certain regularity properties of the solutions.

Sunto In questo lavoro consideriamo le equazioni di Navier-Stokes stazionarie in un certo tipo di canali semi-infiniti sotto la condizione generale di outflow. Assumendo che sia il dominio sia i dati siano simmetrici rispetto ad una retta, l’asse di simmetria, e che questa retta intersechi ogni componente del bordo, mostriamo esistenza di soluzioni ed alcune proprietà di regolarità delle stesse.

     

Cartan connection associated with a subriemannian structure

For each subriemannian manifold of constant subriemannian symbol we construct a Cartan connection canonically associated with this structure.     

Isotopically selective CVD of silicon by IRMPD of Si2F6

The IRMPD of Si₂F₆ by a CO₂ TEA laser was applied to isotopically selective CVD of silicon. A white film, probably consisting of polymers of SiF₂, was deposited on a metal foil during the irradiation of natural Si₂F₆ with the laser radiation at 951.19 cm^–1 and about 1.5 J cm^–2. Upon heating, the film became dark brown, evolving SiF₄. The³⁰Si content was found to be as high as about 20%.     

Raman studies on local structural disorder in silicon-based amorphous semiconductor films

Raman scattering and ESR measurements were carried out for amorphous Si and amorphous Si-based alloy systems such as Si-N and Si-C. A pronounced broadening of the Si-Si To-like band of Raman spectrum is observed with an increase in the N or C content for amorphous Si-N and Si-C alloy systems. The broadening of the TO-like band for amorphous Si system as well as amorphous Si-N and Si-C systems has a good correlation with an increase in the density of dangling bonds derived from ESR measurements. The fact suggests that dangling bonds are produced in order to relax the local strain due to structural constraint and lower the total energy.     

Concentration dependence of electroosmosis and streaming potential across charged membranes

Electroosmosis and streaming potential measurements were carried out across charged membranes made of collodion and sulfonated polystyrene. Experiments were confined to the range where linear flux/force relationships hold. Saxén's relationship holds between electroosmosis and streaming potential; for porous charged membranes these exhibit an approximate inverse proportionality to ionic mobility at the limit of low electrolyte concentration. Both tend towards zero at the limit of high electrolyte concentration.
