pharaonis phoborhodopsin (ppR, also called pharaonis sensory rhodopsin II [psRII]) is a member of the archaeal rhodopsin family and acts as a repellent phototaxis receptor of Natronobacterium pharaonis. Upon illumination, ppR is excited and undergoes a linear cyclic photoreaction, namely, a photocycle that constitutes photointermediates such as M- and O-intermediates (ppRM and ppRO, respectively). Under a constant background illumination (>600 nm) that irradiates ppRO, the decay rate of the flash-induced ppRO increased with an increase in the background light intensity, indicating the photoreactivity of ppRO. Azide did not influence the light-accelerated ppRO decay, but the time required for the cycle to be completed became shortened in an azide concentration-dependent manner because of acceleration of ppRM decay. Hence, the turnover rate of photocycling increased appreciably in the presence of both the background illumination and the azide. The observation reported previously (Schmies, G. et al. 2000, Biophys. J. 78:967-976) is discussed in connection with the present observations. 相似文献

A Mössbauer study was performed to find the fraction of non-bridging oxygens in potassium borate glasses containing a small amount of iron. The borate glasses with alkali contents of 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 mol% were irradiated with 60Co-γ rays at room temperature in a nitrogen atmosphere. The Mössbauer absorption area for the irradiation-induced Fe2+ increased with the total γ-ray dose in the range of 1 × 106 ?2 × 108 R, and became constant after irradiation ranging from 2 × 108 R ? 1 × 109 R. The absorption area for the Fe2+ at the saturated region was correlated with the difference in the glass structure, i.e., the fraction of the non-bridging oxygens was estimated from the increased absorption area for the Fe2+ as a function of the alkali content of the glasses. The fraction of the non-bridging oxygen increased with the alkali content of the glasses in the alkali region above 20 mol%, and about 14% of the fraction was obtained for an alkali content of 40 mol%. 相似文献

We present a 115In NMR study of the quasi-two-dimensional heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 believed to host a Fulde-Ferrel-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state. In the vicinity of the upper critical field and with a magnetic field applied parallel to the ab plane, the NMR spectrum exhibits a dramatic change below T*(H) which well coincides with the position of reported anomalies in specific heat and ultrasound velocity. We argue that our results provide the first microscopic evidence for the occurrence of a spatially modulated superconducting order parameter expected in a FFLO state. The NMR spectrum also implies an anomalous electronic structure of vortex cores. 相似文献

Wetting of 975 grain boundaries (GB's) by liquid Cu in an iron-based alloy has been studied as a function of the five macroscopic degrees of freedom (DoF's) of grain boundary character. In addition, models of GB energy in terms of all five DoF's, and of anisotropic solid-liquid interfacial energy have been developed. The experimentally observed wetting behavior is interpreted in terms of the model, and it is shown that reasonable overall agreement is obtained between experimental results and model predictions. 相似文献

The fluorescence property of xTbF3-BaF2-AlF3-GeO2+ySmF3 (x=0.01-40 mol%, y=0-5 wt%) glasses were investigated. The enhancement of Sm3+ fluorescence was recognized in the presence of Tb3+. Increasing Tb3+ content, the emission color changed from green to orange. When the intensity of fluorescence at 540 nm originated from Tb3+ is compared with that at 600 nm originated from Sm3+, the information about the concentration quenching of Tb3+ and Sm3+ was obtained. From these results, rare earth ions were dispersed identically in the glasses. After heating to 673 K or cooling to 77 K, the emission color of 20TbF3-20BaF2-10AlF3-50GeO2/mol%+0.05 wt% SmF3 glass was reversibly changed from orange to green. In addition, while the emission from 10TbF3-20BaF2-10AlF3-60GeO2+0.01 wt% SmF3 glass was green, its crystallized sample, prepared by annealing at 1073 K, exhibited an orange emission due to Sm3+ at room temperature. 相似文献

Four new sulfonated serinol derivatives, siladenoserinols M–P (1–4), were isolated from a tunicate of the family Didemnidae collected in Indonesia. Their chemical structures were elucidated by the interpretation of NMR and mass spectroscopic data. Two of them (2 and 4) were revealed to be disulfonate serinol derivatives, and the others were monosulfonates. Siladenoserinols A (5) and B (6), which we previously isolated from the same tunicate, inhibited the p53–Hdm2 interaction with an IC50 value of 2.0?μM. However, 1–4 did not inhibit the activity. The result suggested that the acetyl group in the bicyclic ketal unit and/or the glycerophospholipid moiety in 5 and 6 were responsible for the inhibition of the p53–Hdm2 interaction. 相似文献
