Bright-dark incoherently coupled soliton pairs composed of spatially incoherent solitons

It is shown that bright-dark incoherently coupled soliton pairs can exist in photorefractive (PR) crystals under steady-state conditions, each soliton constituent of which is spatially incoherent. The characteristics of bright-dark incoherently coupled soliton pairs are studied by the coherent density approach and the intensity expressions of soliton pairs are obtained. The propagation properties of coherent components of each constituent in a soliton pair are also discussed in detail.     

Arrayed waveguide grating multiplexer with high thermal stability on silicon

In this paper, certain important parameters are optimized for a polymer/Si arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexer by using grating theory. A 32-channel multiplexer is designed and fabricated using newly synthesized fluorinated poly (ether ether ketone) with a high thermal stability. The measured wavelength channel spacing is 0.796 nm, and center wavelength and 3-dB bandwidth are 1548 nm and 0.3 nm, respectively.     

Propagation characteristics of TM Gaussian beam

The propagation characteristics of TM polarized Gaussian beam, which is the rigorous solution of an eigenfunction problem for a confocal resonator, have been investigated using the nonparaxial vectorial moment theory of light beam propagation. The analytical expressions of the beam propagation factors are given by means of Fourier transform. Both the transversal second-order moment beam widths follow a simple hyperbolic variational law. For nonparaxial case, however, beam has different propagating features in the two transversal directions. As to paraxial case, its propagation approximately reduces to that of scalar Gaussian beam TEM₀₀ mode.     

Experimental constraints on the phase diagram of elemental zirconium

The phase diagram of zirconium metal has been studied using synchrotron X-ray diffraction and time-of-flight neutron scattering at temperatures and pressures up to 1273 K and 17 GPa. The equilibrium phase boundary of the α-ω transition has a dT/dP slope of 473 K/GPa, and the extrapolated transition pressure at ambient temperature is located at 3.4 GPa. For the ω-β transition, the phase boundary has a negative dT/dP slope of 15.5 K/GPa between 6.4 and 15.3 GPa, which is substantially smaller than a previously reported value of −39±5 K/GPa in the pressure range of 32-35 GPa. This difference indicates a significant curvature of the phase boundary between 15.3 and 35 GPa. The α-ω-β triple point was estimated to be at 4.9 GPa and 953 K, which is comparable to previous results obtained from a differential thermal analysis. Except for the three known crystalline forms, the β phase of zirconium metal was found to possess an extraordinary glass forming ability at pressures between 6.4 and 8.6 GPa. This transformation leads to a limited stability field for the β phase in the pressure range of 6-16 GPa and to complications of high-temperature portion of phase diagram for zirconium metal.     

Influence of substrate temperature and post-treatment on the properties of ZnO:Al thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition

Highly transparent conductive Al₂O₃ doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films have been deposited on the glass substrate by pulsed laser deposition technique. The effects of substrate temperature and post-deposition annealing treatment on structural, electrical and optical properties of AZO thin films were investigated. The experimental results show that the electrical resistivity of films deposited at 240 °C is 6.1 × 10⁻⁴ Ω cm, which can be further reduced to as low as 4.7 × 10⁻⁴ Ω cm by post-deposition annealing at 400 °C for 2 h in argon. The average transmission of AZO films in the visible range is 90%. The optical direct band gap of films was dependent on the substrate temperature and the annealing treatment in argon. The optical direct band gap value of AZO films increased with increasing annealing temperature.     

Dynamics of solitary wave scattering in the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam model

In this Letter, we study the scattering dynamics of a pair of solitary waves in the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam model with interaction potential V(x)=alphax(2)/2+x(4)/4 and establish a quantitative connection between the scattering property and the energy transport behavior. The energy and momentum conservation laws are obtained and the scattering rates of solitary waves are calculated. Our studies suggest that the anharmonic limit model with alpha=0 can be taken as a paradigm model for studying lattice solitary waves.     

Multiple bosonic mode coupling in the electron self-energy of (La2-xSrx)CuO4

High resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy data along the (0,0)-(pi,pi) nodal direction with significantly improved statistics reveal fine structure in the electron self-energy of the underdoped (La2-xSrx)CuO4 samples in the normal state. Fine structure at energies of (40-46) meV and (58-63) meV, and possible fine structure at energies of (23-29) meV and (75-85) meV, have been identified. These observations indicate that, in (La2-xSrx)CuO4, more than one bosonic modes are involved in the coupling with electrons.     

30M-35kV/2000A高温超导电缆制冷系统

本文介绍了我国新研制成的首条并网运行的热绝缘型30M-35KV/2000A高温超导电缆制冷系统。该制冷系统主要有液氮泵箱、过冷箱、高真空输液管道、液氮贮槽、辅助减压抽空系统、泵箱及气动阀门供气系统、监控系统所组成。冷却方式是过冷液氮循环,制冷方式是G-M制冷机和减压抽空(备用)。给出了制冷系统的运行结果。     

Simultaneous Determination of the Content of Iron and Zinc by the Spectral Correction Technique with the Use of Dibromo-o-Nitrophenylfluorone

Reactions between Fe(II) and dibromo-o-nitrophenylfluorone (DBNPF) and also between Zn(II) and DBNPF are sensitive at pH 9 in the presence of Triton X-100. The simultaneous determination of the Fe and Zn content by the spectral correction technique is shown. For analysis of water, plant, and hair samples, the reaction is selective in the presence of triethanolamine and thiourea. The recovery of Fe and Zn is between 88 and 108% and between 90.5 and 107%, and their relative standard deviation is less than 10 and 5.9%, respectively. The method makes it possible to carry out analysis of the solutions of two complexes and easily determine their characteristic constants such as the composition ratio, molar extinction ratio (), and stepwise stability constant (K).     

Hawking Radiation of Dirac Particles in a Nonuniformly Rectilinearly Accelerating Black Hole

The Hawking radiation of Dirac particles on the event horizon of a nonuniformly rectilinearly accelerating black hole is studied in this paper. First, we construct the symmetrized null tetrad from which the spin coefficients and Dirac equation are derived. Next, by proposing generalized tortoise coordinate transformation, the decoupling problem of the Dirac equation with nonzero rest mass is solved. Finally, by analytic continuation, the Hawking thermal spectrum formula of Dirac particle for nonuniformly rectilinearly accelerating black hole is obtained.
