By introducing a four-layer step-index waveguide modeling, the characteristics of long-period fiber grating (LPFG) with an nm-thick film overlay, which has higher refractive index than that of fiber cladding are investigated in detail. The influence of both the overlay thickness and refractive index on the tuning ability of LPFG is analyzed. The numerical results demonstrate that spectral response of LPFG is divided into three distinct regions as the overlay deposition increases and the shift of resonant wavelength is drastic in some special thickness range. In conjunction with higher-order cladding mode coupling and fiber cladding etching, the sensitivity of LPFG to the overlay refractive index is enhanced significantly and over 120 nm resonant wavelength tunable range is achieved. 相似文献

In this work, the activation of heat-sensitive trans-gene by high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in a tumor model was investigated. 4T1 cancer cells (2 x 10(6)) were inoculated subcutaneously in the hind limbs of Balb/C mice. The tumors were subsequently transducted on day 10 by intratumoral injection of a heat-sensitive adenovirus vector (Adeno-hsp70B-Luc at 2 x 10(8) pfu/tumor). On day 11, the tumors were heated to a peak temperature of 55, 65, 75, or 85 degrees C within 10-30 s at multiple sites around the center of the tumor by a 1.1- or 3.3-MHz HIFU transducer. Inducible luciferase gene expression was increased from 15-fold to 120-fold of the control group following 1.1-MHz HIFU exposure. Maximum gene activation (120-fold) was produced at a peak temperature of 65-75 degrees C one day following HIFU exposure and decayed to baseline within 7 days. HIFU-induced gene activation (75 degrees C-10 s) could be further improved by using a 3.3-MHz transducer and a dense scan strategy to 170-fold. Thermal stress, rather than nonthermal mechanical stress, was identified as the primary physical mechanism for HIFU-induced gene activation in vivo. A lot of work has focused on compensating nonlinear distortions of the microspeaker under large excitation, yet it is unclear at which level the effect of nonlinear distortion is imperceptible or not annoying. In this study virtual listening tests were performed to evaluate the deterioration of sound quality in music signals with different levels of nonlinear distortion by a microspeaker. Binaural recordings of the music played by the microspeaker were made at different voltage levels, adjusted to the same RMS power, and afterwards reproduced by a low distortion reference headphone. The “double-blind triple-stimulus with hidden reference” method was used in the listening tests. Listeners were required to not only discern the distortion, but also rank the severity of the distortion. The effects of several factors including subject, program material and distortion level on the perceived distortion are discussed. 相似文献

Using molecular dynamics simulations, we investigate the oscillatory behaviors of carbon nanotube oscillators containing sp3-hybridized defects formed by hydrogen chemisorption. It is found that the presence of these defects significantly affects the kinetic and potential energies of the nanotube systems, which in turn affects their oscillation periods and frequencies. We have also studied the oscillatory characteristics of the oscillators containing sp3-hybridized Stone-Wales defects. Our results show that it is possible to control the motion of the inner nanotube by introducing sp3-hybridized defects on the outer nanotube, which provides a potential way to tune the oscillatory behavior of nanotube oscillators. 相似文献

Recommender systems represent an important tool for news distribution on the Internet. In this work we modify a recently proposed social recommendation model in order to deal with no explicit ratings of users on news. The model consists of a network of users which continually adapts in order to achieve an efficient news traffic. To optimize the network’s topology we propose different stochastic algorithms that are scalable with respect to the network’s size. Agent-based simulations reveal the features and the performance of these algorithms. To overcome the resultant drawbacks of each method we introduce two improved algorithms and show that they can optimize the network’s topology almost as fast and effectively as other not-scalable methods that make use of much more information. 相似文献

采用高温热解法,以乙二胺为前驱液,在沉积有铁催化剂的p型硅(111)基底上制备出了定向生长的CNx纳米管.利用扫描电子显微镜、高分辨率透射电子显微镜和拉曼光谱对CNx纳米管进行了形貌观察和表征.CNx纳米管的高度在20?μm左右,直径在50—100nm之间,具有明显的“竹节状”结构,结晶有序度较差.对CNx纳米管薄膜进行低场致发射性能测试:外加电场为1.4V/μm,观察到20?μA /cm2发射电流,外电场升至2.54V/μm时发射电流达到1.280mA/cm2,在较高外电场下,没有发现电流“饱和”.这比
