Topological K-groups of two-dimensional local fields

A complete two-dimensional local field K of mixed characteristic with finite second residue field is considered. The existence of a completely ramified extension L of K such that L is a standard field is assumed. It is proved that the rank of the quotient U(1)K ₂ ^top K/T_K, where T_K is the closure of the torsion subgroup, is equal to the degree of the constant subfield of K over ℚ_p. I. B. Zhukov constructed a set of generators of this quotient in the case where K is a standard field. In this paper, two natural generalizations of this set are considered, and it is proved that one of them generates the entire group and the other generates its subgroup of finite index. A generalized square of the zeta function. The spectral decomposition. II

An estimate of the remainder in the spectral decomposition of the generalized ζ function is given, which is more precise than the known ones. A differential-geometric criterion of the kinematic integrability of nonlinear differential equations

A theorem on the existence of a G-representation and a differential-geometric criterion of the kinematic integrability for nonlinear differential equations from the Λ²-G-classes is proved. Runge–Kutta interpolants for high precision computations

Runge–Kutta (RK) pairs furnish approximations of the solution of an initial value problem at discrete points in the interval of integration. Many techniques for enriching these methods with continuous approximations have been proposed. Here we construct C ¹ continuous, eighth and ninth order interpolation methods for a recently appeared RK pair of orders 9(8). These interpolants share a very small leading truncation error making them suitable for use at quadruple precision, i.e. 32–33 decimal digits of accuracy. Extended numerical results justify our effort.     

Circular dichroism spectra in mordant azo dyes

The photogyrotropic properties of several mordant yellow azo dyes in gelatin and polymer matrices that are in the normal state or exposed to circularly polarized light are investigated. A model explanation for the experimental data is given.     

Production and properties of metal-carbon composite coatings with a nanocrystalline structure

It is suggested to produce metal-carbon composite coatings by magnetron sputtering of mosaic cathodes, which are Group IV, V, and VI metals. The mosaic structure of the cathode elements are computer-optimized for each of the metals. Reflection electron diffraction studies show that the coatings have the amorphous or nanocrystalline structures, which are thermally stable. The coatings offer specific physical properties, in particular, low friction factor and high hardness.     

Growth and study of single crystals of (Na,K)NbO<Subscript>3</Subscript> solid solutions

(Na, K)NbO₃ crystals with a perovskite structure and a KNbO₃ content up to 40 mol % were grown from flux with the use of the solvent NaBO₂. The dielectric measurements of the crystals grown revealed phase transitions that had never been observed before in ceramic samples.
