Antiferromagnetism of nuclear matter in the model with effective Gogny interaction

The possibility of ferromagnetic (FM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase transitions in symmetric nuclear matter is analyzed within the framework of a Fermi liquid theory with effective Gogny interaction. It is shown that, at some critical density, nuclear matter with the D1S effective force undergoes a phase transition to the AFM spin state (opposite directions of neutron and proton spins). The self-consistent equations of spin-polarized nuclear matter with the D1S force have no solutions corresponding to FM spin ordering (the same direction of neutron and proton spins) and, hence, the FM transition does not appear. The AFM spin polarization parameter is found for zero and finite temperature. It is shown that the AFM spin polarization parameter of partially polarized nuclear matter at low enough temperatures increases with temperature. The entropy of the AFM spin state for some temperature range is larger than the entropy of the normal state. Nevertheless, the free energy of the AFM spin state is always less than the free energy of the normal state, and the AFM spin-polarized state is preferable for all temperatures below the critical temperature. Laser spectroscopy of high spin isomers – a review

This review summarizes the experimental data on charge radii differences among ground state and high spin isomeric states determined by high-resolution laser spectroscopic methods. A comparison is presented between radii changes obtained from the isomeric shifts in the atomic spectra and from the quadrupole moments of both ground and isomeric states under the assumption that the radii changes are determined by the difference of the quadrupole deformations. Special attention is paid to isomers arising from the break-up of nucleon pairs and isomers of odd–odd nuclei. The characteristic features of the radii changes for isomeric states of different origin are discussed.

Polytypism of silicon carbide and Schottky barriers

The results obtained in our previous work [4] are revised taking into account the dependence of the electron affinity on the polytype of silicon carbide SiC. The dependence of the energy level of vacancies in a polytype of silicon carbide on the band gap is determined from the data on the Schottky barrier height and is explained in the framework of a simple two-band model.

Various methods for assessing the performance of levelers in batch dyeing of synthetic fibrous materials were analyzed. Criteria most suitable for technological and scientific applications were chosen.

Modes of modification of the surfaces of semiconductor structures to be used in formation of a system of interconnections with polyimide as interlayer insulator to obtain a high adhesion between the layers via their chemical reactions.     

Horizontal Connection and Horizontal Mean Curvature in Carnot Groups

In this paper we give a geometric interpretation of the notion of the horizontal mean curvature which is introduced by Danielli Garofalo-Nhieu and Pauls who recently introduced sub- Riemannian minimal surfaces in Carnot groups. This will be done by introducing a natural nonholonomic connection which is the restriction （projection） of the natural Riemannian connection on the horizontal bundle. For this nonholonomic connection and （intrinsic） regular hypersurfaces we introduce the notions of the horizontal second fundamental form and the horizontal shape operator. It turns out that the horizontal mean curvature is the trace of the horizontal shape operator.     

多气隙电阻板室抗辐照性能研究

给出了为RHIC-STAR飞行时间探测器设计的多气隙电阻板室(MRPC)的辐照实验结果. 实验采用100mCi⁶⁰Co γ源, 采用不同的剂量率对MRPC进行辐照. 一个室在大剂量率2.87×10^－2Gy/h下辐照了24h后, 其性能如噪声计数率, 暗电流等均大大退化. 另一个室在相对低剂量率5.31×10^－4Gy/h下辐照了530h, 其性能没有见到任何变坏. 实验的目的是为了了解这种探测器在几年的运行中经过大剂量的辐照后的性能变化情况.
