A Ti-based oxysulfide, Sm(2)Ti(2)S(2)O(5), was studied as a visible light-driven photocatalyst. Under visible light (440 nm < or = lambda < or = 650 nm) irradiation, Sm(2)Ti(2)S(2)O(5) with a band gap of approximately 2 eV evolved H(2) or O(2) from aqueous solutions containing a sacrificial electron donor (Na(2)S-Na(2)SO(3) or methanol) or acceptor (Ag(+)) without any noticeable degradation. This oxysulfide is, therefore, a stable photocatalyst with strong reduction and oxidation abilities under visible-light irradiation. The electronic band structure of Sm(2)Ti(2)S(2)O(5) was calculated using the plane-wave-based density functional theory (DFT) program. It was elucidated that the S3p orbitals constitute the upper part of the valence band and these orbitals make an essential contribution to the small band gap energy. The conduction and valence bands' positions of Sm(2)Ti(2)S(2)O(5) were also determined by electrochemical measurements. It indicated that conduction and valence bands were found to have satisfactory potentials for the reduction of H(+) to H(2) and the oxidation of H(2)O to O(2) at pH = 8. This is consistent with the results of the photocatalytic reactions.  相似文献

A bioassay-directed fractionation of the cytotoxic constituents of the Japanese sea hare Dolabella auricularia resulted in the isolation of two 35-membered depsipeptides dolastatin G (1) and nordolastatin G (2), which showed cytotoxicity against HeLa S(3) cells with IC(50) values of 1.0 and 5.3 &mgr;g/mL, respectively. The gross structures of these substances were established by spectroscopic analysis including 2D NMR techniques. The absolute stereostructure of 1 was determined by chiral HPLC analysis of amino acid components obtained from acid hydrolysis of 1 and by the enantioselective syntheses of two degradation products arising from polyketide portions. Nordolastatin G (2) is a congener that has the same absolute stereochemistry as that of 1.  相似文献

The spectral changes as well as the reaction kinetics of the transient species of 4,4'-bipyridyl (4,4'-bpy) have been experimentally investigated by pulse radiolysis techniques up to 400 degrees C. The results show that the transient species such as OH adduct 4,4'-bpyOH*, monoprotonated electron adduct 4,4'-bpyH*, and doubly protonated electron adduct 4,4'-bpyH2+* have 15-20 nm blue shifts from room temperature to 400 degrees C. For a deaerated neutral solution of 4,4'-bpy in the presence of tert-butyl alcohol, ethanol, or NaCOOH, the doubly protonated electron adduct is the main transient species at room temperature. But at temperatures > 350 degrees C, a monoprotonated form, the N-hydro radical 4,4'-bpyH*, becomes predominant. Interestingly, at room temperature, CO2-* could not efficiently react with 4,4'-bpy, but the reaction was accelerated with increasing temperature; at 350 degrees C, this reaction completed within 2 mus. Using an alkaline solution (pH = 11.5) of 4,4'-bpy in the presence of tert-butyl alcohol, we studied the N-hydro radical 4,4'-bpyH* from room temperature to 400 degrees C at 25 MPa. An estimation of the temperature-dependent G(e(aq)-) at 25 MPa agrees with our previous result with methyl viologen as a scavenger.  相似文献

We developed a rapid and reliable identification method for Shiga toxins in Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) using immunoprecipitation and high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS). Polyclonal antisera specific for Shiga toxin 1 (Stx1) and Shiga toxin 2 (Stx2) were raised in rabbits so as to be used for the immunoprecipitation. The immunoprecipitaion was carried out by mixing sample solutions with 50 microl each of the antisera to Stx1 and Stx2 followed by allowing the mixed solutions to stand for 30 min. The quantity required to obtain the immunoprecipitate was more than 0.5 microg of Shiga toxins. HPLC-ESI-MS analysis of the resulting immunoprecipitates provided accurate molecular weight information on Shiga toxins, leading to direct evidence for the presence of these toxins. It requires at most two days to perform our procedure from toxin extraction to measurement of HPLC-ESI-MS whereas the previous method using isolation procedures required about two weeks to complete. The usefulness of the present method has been demonstrated by identifying Stx1, Stx2 and a variant of Stx2 (Stx2e) in the immunoprecipitates prepared from STEC strains.  相似文献
