A fluorescence probe, fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), was introduced to proteins, and the morphology of protein-adsorbed stearic acid monolayer was observed by fluorescence microscopy and Brewster angle microscopy (BAM) in order to analyze images. At a low protein concentration, the surface pressure increased as shown by a sigmoidal curve. A number of stripe patterns in the BAM images increased and the shapes became clear with increasing concentration of proteins. Simultaneously, the size of circular islands also became small, and finally disappeared. These results suggest that the very large stripe patterns in the BAM image show the assembly of both proteins and stearic acid molecules, and small circular islands show only the stearic acid molecules. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Oriented poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) films with β‐form crystals have been commonly prepared by cold drawing of a melt‐quenched film consisting of α‐form crystals. In this study, we have successfully produced highly oriented PVDF thin films (20 µm thick) with β‐crystals and a high crystallinity (55–76%), by solid‐state coextrusion of a gel film to eight times the original length at an established optimum extrusion temperature of 160°C, some 10°C below the melting temperature. The resultant drawn films had a highly oriented (orientation function fc = 0.993) fibrous structure, showing high mechanical properties of an extensional elastic modulus of 8.3 GPa and tensile strength of 0.84 GPa, along the draw direction. Such highly oriented and crystalline films exhibited excellent ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties. The square hysteresis loop was significantly sharper than that of a conventional sample. The sharp switching transient yielded the remnant polarization Pr of 90 mC/m2, and the electromechanical coupling factor kt was 0.24 at room temperature. These values are about 1.5 times greater than those of a conventional β‐PVDF film. Thus, solid‐state coextrusion near the melting point was found to be a useful technique for the preparation of highly oriented and highly crystalline β‐PVDF films with superior mechanical and electrical properties. The rotational spectra of three isotopomers of the Ar–dimethyl sulfide (DMS) complex – normal, 34S, and 13C species – were measured in the frequency region from 3.7 up to 24.1 GHz by Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. The normal species yielded 43 a-type and 79 c-type transitions. No Ar tunneling splitting was observed, while many transitions were split by the internal rotation of the two methyl tops of the DMS unit. In cases where the K-type splitting was close to that due to methyl internal-rotation, several forbidden transitions were observed that followed b-type selection rules. All of the observed transition frequencies were analyzed simultaneously using a phenomenological Hamiltonian also used in previously published work describing the Ar–dimethyl ether (DME) and Ne–DME complexes. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants and the potential barrier height to methyl-top internal rotation, V3, were determined. The rotational constants were consistent with an Ar–DMS center of mass (cm) distance of 3.796 (3) Å and a S–cm–Ar angle of 104.8 (2)°. The V3 potential barrier obtained, 736.17 (32) cm−1, was 97.8% of the DMS monomer barrier. By assuming a Lennard–Jones-type potential, the dissociation energy was estimated to be 2.4 kJ mol−1, which was close to the value for Ar–DME, 2.5 kJ mol−1.  相似文献

Mix and calcinate : The tin–tungsten mixed oxide (Sn–W oxide) prepared by calcination of the Sn–W hydroxide at 800 °C acts as an effective and reusable solid catalyst for C? C bond‐forming reactions, such as the cyclization of citronellal, the Diels–Alder reaction, and the cyanosilylation of carbonyl compounds with trimethylsilyl cyanide (see scheme). The observed catalysis was truly heterogeneous, and the recovered catalyst could be reused without loss of its high catalytic performance.

A novel series of benzoic acid derivatives as VLA-4 antagonists were synthesized. Optimization, focusing on activity and lipophilicity needed for cell permeability, resulted in the identification of 15b and 15e with good activity (IC50 = 1.6 nM each) and moderate lipophilicity (Log D = 2.0, 1.8). Furthermore, 15e demonstrated efficacy in murine asthma model by an oral dose of 30 mg/kg.  相似文献

A systematic quantum Monte Carlo study of 2p atoms (C, N, O) and 3p atoms (Si, P, S) is performed to investigate the influence of correlation on the interpretation of Hund's multiplicity rule, which is an extension of our previous study of the carbon atom [J. Chem. Phys. 121, 7144 (2004)] to heavier atoms. The accuracy in the present study is significantly improved as compared with the previous study. A detailed analysis of the correlation contribution to individual energy components of the total energy is given beyond the self-consistent Hartree-Fock calculation. The stability of the highest spin-multiplicity state of all the atoms is ascribed to the greater electron-nucleus attraction energy that is gained at the cost of increasing the electron-electron repulsion energy as well as the kinetic energy. The present study demonstrates that correlation does not change the above conclusion due to the Hartree-Fock theory to support Boyd's less screening mechanism.  相似文献

Surface modified molecularly imprinted polymers (SM-MIPs) for 17beta-estradiol (E2), utilizing 6-ketoecradiol as a pseudo template were prepared. MIPs for E2 were synthesized using 4-vinyl pyridine and ethylene dimethacrylate as a functional monomer and cross-linking agent, respectively. MIPs selectively retained E2 and provided excellent chromatographic resolution from interfering compounds inherent in river water sample matrices. Therefore, freshly prepared MIPs were applied to quantitative mass spectrometric (negative electrospray ionization mode) detection of low levels of E2 in river water sample. In order to pre-concentrate the target compound for HPLC analysis, column switching was coupled with a pretreatment column packed with the MIPs. The repeatability of actual determinations of river water sample, in which background E2 was not detected, spiked with 50 ng/L of E2 was 2.2% RSD with a detection limit and qualification limit of 1.8 and 5.4 ng/L, respectively. Surface modification of MIP particlefs packed in the pretreatment column provided selective affinity and on-line concentration of low levels of E2 while simultaneously eliminating sample matrix interference, resulting in a significant increase in sensitivity and reproducibility for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis of E2 in river water sample.  相似文献

The stable water-soluble tantalum complex with lactic acid (ammonium tetralactatodiperoxo-mu-oxo-ditantalate(V)), (NH4)4[Ta2(C3H4O3)4(O2)2O].3H2O, was prepared in the crystalline form. According to the single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, this compound forms a monoclinic cell with a = 13.85(2) A, b = 9.06(1) A, c = 12.32(2) A, and beta = 116.30 degrees , space group C2 (No. 2), and has Z = 2 molecules per unit cell. The solid-state 13C NMR data and low flack parameter are consistent with the determined structure. Appearance of the same vibration modes in Raman and IR spectra supports the choice of the space group without inversion symmetry. The solution of the tantalum complex was successfully applied for the synthesis of two photocatalytic materials, NaTaO3 and Sr2Ta2O7.  相似文献

An efficient method for the homocoupling of aryl halides by electron-transfer oxidation of Lipshutz cuprates (Ar2Cu(CN)Li2) with organic electron acceptors is disclosed. Thus, various types of Lipshutz cuprates are prepared by successive treatment of aryl or heteroaryl bromides with tert-butyllithium and CuCN. The electron-transfer oxidation of Lipshutz cuprates with p-benzoquinones proceeds smoothly to afford the corresponding homocoupling products in moderate to good yields. Furthermore, it can be applied to the construction of either thiophene- or benzene-fused 10-membered ring cyclophanes. For the synthesis of 10-membered cyclophanes, the linear C-Cu-C structure of Lipshutz cuprates should be maintained in the dimetallacyclic intermediates, producing the large ring cyclophanes efficiently. The X-ray analysis of the cyclophanes reveals that the difference in the bridging atoms results in the different conformations of the macrocyclic rings. Thus, the silicon-bridged cyclophane 5a adopts a D2-symmetric structure with a twisted rhombic arrangement of four thiophene rings, whereas the methylene- and oxygen-bridged cyclophanes 5b and 5c possess C2h- and C2-symmetric structures with chair- and boatlike conformations, respectively. The 1H NMR spectrum of C2-symmetric 5c is temperature-dependent, and the activation energy (DeltaG) for the conformational change is 10.1 kcal/mol.  相似文献
