Spatial distribution functions (SDFs), gOO(x,y,z) and gOH(x,y,z), obtained from Monte Carlo simulations at 298 K were applied to characterize the anisotropic structure of infinitely dilute aqueous solutions of alcohols and ethers having straight chain and branched alkyl groups. In spite of the different size and shape of the hydrophobic groups, the spatial orientation of the hydrogen-bonded water molecules was found to be of linear type with a triple layer structure in the hydrogen acceptor (HA) region and a double layer structure in the hydrogen donor (HD) region. The volumes and the coordination number (CN) in the HA region were essentially identical for all alcohol and ether solutions, but the volumes for the isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and isopropyl methyl ether (IPE) solutions were greater than those for the other solutions. In the hydrophobic hydration (HH) region, these values increased with increasing size and shape of hydrophobic groups, except in the case of IPA and IPE solutions. These results indicated that the hydration structures around the isopropyl group in alcohol and ether solutions differed from those in other solutions. From the results of the difference SDF (DSDF), AgOO(x,y,z), between SDFs gOO(x,y,z) for the two states, it was apparent that the distribution of hydration water molecules in the HA region for ether solution was characterized by the increase of the distribution in the direction of lone pair electrons on the oxygen atom of the solute molecule with increasing hydrophobicity.  相似文献

The sorption of ion pairs on membrane filters (MFs) has been studied by taking the membrane filter as one of the homogeneous phases. The sorbability of some ionic species and the sorption abilities of different types of MF were evaluated in terms of the sorption constant defined by Ksor,CA = [(C+,A-)f]/[C+][A-], where C+, A- and (C+,A-) refer to the cation, anion and the ion pair, respectively, and f refers to the filter phase. The values of Ksor,CA were determined for many combinations of ionic complexes of cobalt(III) with pyridylazophenols, either as cations or anions, and oppositely charged organic ions having different alkyl chain lengths, with MFs made of different materials: nitrocellulose (NC; Toyo Advantec), acetylcellulose (AC; Fuji Film), regenerated cellulose (RC; Toyo Advantec) and polyethersulphone (PS; Toyo Advantec). For a given cobalt complex ion, the value of log Ksor,CA increased linearly with the increasing number of carbons in the counter ion. Membrane filters made of different materials showed different sorption abilities, the order being NC greater than PS greater than RC greater than AC. It was shown that the surface area of the MF is of greater significance than the volume of the matrix of the MF in determining the sorption constant.  相似文献

Measurements of excess molar enthalpies at 25°C in a flow microcalorimeter, are reported for the two ternary mixtures ethyl tert-butylether + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane + n-decane and ethyl tert-butylether + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane + n-dodecane. Smooth representations of the results are described and used to construct constant-enthalpy contours on Roozeboom diagrams. It is shown that useful estimates of the ternary enthalpies can be obtained from the Liebermann–Fried model using only the physical properties of the components and their binary mixtures.  相似文献

The reaction of dihydroxo(1R,2R-cyclohexanediamine)platinum(II) with (-)-quinic acid gave a water soluble complex, (-)-quinato(1R,2R-cyclohexanediamine)platinum(II). The crystal structure of the complex was determined by X-ray analysis. The data indicate a chelation of the alpha-hydroxycarboxylic acid part of quinic acid to platinum(II). The complex shows moderate antitumor activity against murine leukemia L1210 at high doses (T/C x 100 = 179% at a dose of 200 mg/kg).  相似文献

A computational study was performed on the Mg(2+)-free conformations of the small guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (GNBPs): Ras, Rho, Rab, Arf, and Ran, which were complexed with GDP. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was executed for each complex for the duration of 3.0 ns to investigate the effects of Mg(2+) ions on the GNBPs' structure. The results indicated that all Mg(2+)-free GNBPs formed a groove between the switch region and the nucleotide-binding site. In some GNBP families, the release of Mg(2+) was reported to play an important role in binding the guanine nucleotide-exchanging factor (GEF) promoting the GDP/GTP exchange reaction. Interestingly, the grooves, which appeared in the MD simulations, were similar to the grooves experimentally observed in the GNBP-GEF complex. We also calculated the Mg(2+)-bound GNBPs to compare with the Mg(2+)-free forms. No groove was observed in the Mg(2+)-bound GNBPs. These results demonstrated a regulatory role of Mg(2+) ion to prepare a template for the GEF binding. Moreover, the results suggested that the release of Mg(2+) ion lead to the GEF-GNBP binding.  相似文献

Many natural terpenoid alkaloid conjugates show biological activity because their structures contain both sp3‐rich terpenoid scaffolds and nitrogen‐containing alkaloid scaffolds. However, their biosynthesis utilizes a limited set of compounds as sources of the terpenoid moiety. The production of terpenoid alkaloids containing various types of terpenoid moiety may provide useful, chemically diverse compound libraries for drug discovery. Herein, we report the construction of a library of terpenoid alkaloid‐like compounds based on Lewis‐acid‐catalyzed transannulation of humulene diepoxide and subsequent sequential olefin metathesis. Cheminformatic analysis quantitatively showed that the synthesized terpenoid alkaloid‐like compound library has a high level of three‐dimensional‐shape diversity. Extensive pharmacological screening of the library has led to the identification of promising compounds for the development of antihypolipidemic drugs. Therefore, the synthesis of terpenoid alkaloid‐like compound libraries based on humulene is well suited to drug discovery. Synthesis of terpenoid alkaloid‐like compounds based on several natural terpenoids is an effective strategy for producing chemically diverse libraries.  相似文献

Emulsion polymerizations of styrene were carried out using two kinds of polyoxyethylene lauryl ether nonionic emulsifiers having different hydrophilic-lipophilic balances (HLB): Emulgen 109P (HLB 13.6); and Emulgen 150 (HLB 18.3). In both cases, incorporation of emulsifier inside polystyrene (PS) particles was clearly observed, as previously reported for the emulsion polymerization of styrene and methacrylic acid using polyoxyethylene nonyl phenyl ether (Emulgen 911, HLB 13.7) nonionic emulsifier. The generality of the incorporation phenomenon of nonionic emulsifier inside polymer particles in emulsion polymerization was clarified. In the case of Emulgen 109P, which is more hydrophobic than Emulgen 150, about 30% of the total amount was incorporated inside the PS particles, higher than for Emulgen 150 (15%). The difference seemed to be ascribed to the difference in the affinities between the nonionic emulsifiers and styrene, which cause the incorporation of emulsifier. On the basis of this idea, suppression of the incorporation was achieved by decreasing the polymerization temperature and the monomer-feed rate. This strongly supports the proposed incorporation mechanism.  相似文献
