Chiral polythiophenes (PTs), in sharp contrast to other optically active polymers, exhibit optical activity in the pi-pi* transition region which is derived from the chirality of the main chain when they self-assemble to form a supramolecular pi-stacked aggregate with intermolecular interactions in a poor solvent or in a film. We now report that the regioregular, optically active PT poly[(R)-3-[4-(4-ethyl-2-oxazolin-2-yl)phenyl]thiophene] (poly-1) exhibits unique split-type induced circular dichroism (ICD) in the pi-pi* transition region of the main chain upon complexation with various metal salts such as trifluoromethanesulfonates of copper(I), copper(II), silver(I), and zinc(II), and iron(II) perchlorate in chloroform, which is a good solvent for poly-1. The appearance of ICD and slight changes in the UV/Vis spectra (no color change), except for the zinc salts, indicated that the chirality may not be induced by chiral pi-stacked aggregates of poly-1, but by the chirality of the main chain, for example, a predominantly one-handed helical structure induced by intermolecular coordination of the oxazoline groups to metal ions. The sign of the Cotton effect depends on the metal salt; most metal salts induced ICDs with similar Cotton-effect patterns, while zinc salts caused an inversion of the signs of the Cotton effect of poly-1 accompanied by a gradual red shift in the absorption of up to 125 nm. The changes in the conformation and the size of the poly-1 aggregates induced by different metal salts were also investigated by (1)H NMR titrations, static light scattering (SLS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and membrane filtration. On the basis of these results, we propose a possible model for the chiral supramolecular aggregates of poly-1 with metal salts.  相似文献

Phase relations in the system BaOGeO2 were investigated in the pressure range 20–70 kbar in the temperature range 750–1200°C. Several new phases were identified in this system: an atmospheric phase of BaGe2O5 (monoclinic BaGe2O5 I), two high-pressure phases of BaGe2O5 (monoclinic BaGe2O5 II and tetragonal BaGe2O5 III), and a high-pressure phase of Ba2Ge5O12. The phase boundary curve between BaGe2O5 II and BaGe2O5 III was preliminarily determined as P(kbar) = 7.7 + 0.047T (°C). The high-pressure phases of BaGeO3, which were previously reported by Y. Shimizu, Y. Syono, and S. Akimoto (High Temp.-High Pressures2, 113 (1970)) in the pressure range 15–95 kbar, were interpreted to be not single-phase materials but complicated mixtures of more than two phases in the system BaOGeO2. X-Ray powder diffraction data for the new compounds synthesized in this study are given.  相似文献

We successfully converted myoglobin, an oxygen-storage hemoprotein, into an oxygen-activating hemoprotein like cytochrome P450s by replacing the native hemin with the artificially created flavohemin. The reconstituted myoglobin, rMb(1), was chacterized by ESI-TOF-mass, UV-vis, and fluorescence spectra. The 1H NMR spectrum of cyanomet rMb(1) indicates that two hemin conformers are present in a ratio of 1:1. Upon the addition of NADH to the buffer solution of rMb(1) in the presence of SOD and catalase, the oxymyoglobin was rapidly formed. As compared with the formation of the oxygenated native myoglobin in the presence of 10-N-(acetylaminoethyl)isoalloxazine, the rate constant of the oxyheme formation in rMb(1) is 6 times larger. This is because the flavin covalently linked to the terminal heme propionate functions as an effective mediator of an electron transfer from NADH to the hemin in rMb(1). Furthermore, rMb(1) shows the deformylation activity, when 2-phenylpropionaldehyde (2-PPA) was employed as a substrate. This result indicates that the oxyheme is reductively activated to Fe(III)-peroxoanion (Fe(III)-O22-). The result in this report is the first example of the activation of dioxygen by myoglobin. This study shows the utility of the replacement of the native hemin with a chemically modified one for the functionalization of myoglobin.  相似文献

Three rotaxanes, with axles with two zinc porphyrins (ZnPs) at both ends penetrating into a necklace pending a C60 moiety, were synthesized with varying interlocked structures and axle lengths. The intra-rotaxane photoinduced electron transfer processes between the spatially positioned C60 and ZnP in rotaxanes were investigated. Charge-separated (CS) states (ZnP*+, C60*-)rotaxane are formed via the excited singlet state of ZnP (1ZnP*) to the C60 moiety in solvents such as benzonitrile, THF, and toluene. The rate constants and quantum yields of charge separation via 1ZnP decrease with axle length, but they are insensitive to solvent polarity. When the axle becomes long, charge separation takes place via the excited triplet state of ZnP (3ZnP*). The lifetime of the CS state increases with axle length from 180 to 650 ns at room temperature. The small activation energies of charge recombination were evaluated by temperature dependence of electron-transfer rate constants, probably reflecting through-space electron transfer in the rotaxane structures.  相似文献

We propose a highly sensitive method for the measurement of catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) activity with norepinephrine (NE), an endogenous native substrate. The product, normetanephrine, was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence reaction detection or, if required, less sensitive fluorescence detection. For the measurement of membrane-bound (MB)-COMT activity in the rat erythrocyte, the HPLC-peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence reaction detection was employed. Soluble (S)- and MB-COMT activities in the rat erythrocyte were 22.9 +/- 2.5 and 4.62 +/- 1.23 pmol min-1 (mg protein)-1, respectively (n = 5). The Km values obtained for S- and MB-COMT were 366 +/- 31 mumol l-1 and 12.0 +/- 1.1 mumol l-1, respectively (n = 5), suggesting that the use of NE as a substrate would give more precise information on the role of both isoenzymes. However, with dihydroxybenzoic acid as an artificial substrate, the Km values for S- and MB-COMT were similar, with values of 69.2 +/- 11.4 mumol l-1 and 72.2 +/- 9.2 mumol l-1, respectively. The proposed method is thought to be useful for the measurement of both S-COMT and MB-COMT activities, and would give us critical information on the role of metabolism of catecholamines in rat tissues.  相似文献

The porphyrin-sexithiophene-fullerene triad 2, where the two central thiophene units of the sexithiophene spacer are bridged with a crown-ether-like polyether chain, undergoes efficient intramolecular electron transfer from the photoexcited porphyrin moiety to the fullerene through the sexithiophene. However, complexation with a sodium cation in the crown ether ring causes complete suppression of electron transfer as a result of a drastic conformational change of the sexithiophene backbone. Furthermore, decomplexation resumes the photoinduced electron transfer. This on/off switching phenomenon indicates that the polyether-bridged sexithiophene can function as a complexation-gated molecular wire.  相似文献

We have investigated the structural development during order-order transitions to the double-gyroid (DG) phase of nonionic surfactant/water systems based on two-dimensional small-angle x-ray scattering patterns from highly oriented ordered mesophases. The lamellar (L) to DG transition proceeds through two intermediate structures, a fluctuating perforated layer structure having ABAB stacking and a hexagonal perforated lamellar structure with ABCABC stacking (HPLABC). For a hexagonally packed cylinder (H) to DG transition, we also observed the HPLABC structure as the intermediate phase, thus the HPLABC is an entrance structure for the DG phase. The hexagonal perforated lamellar (HPL) structure consists of hexagonally packed holes surrounded by the planar tripods, and the transition from HPL structure to the DG phase proceeds by rotation of the dihedral angle of connected tripods. A geometrical consideration shows that large deformations of HPL planes are necessary to form the DG structure from the HPLABC structure, whereas the transition from a HPL structure with ABAB stacking (HPLAB) to the DG structure is straightforward. In spite of the topological constraints, the HPLABC structure is observed in the kinetic pathway to the DG structure.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization, and thermal decomposition of the [Ni(SCN)2(H+SCN)2(4-mepy)2] compound with an octahedral structure in polymeric chain were reported, in which SCN groups form bridges among Ni(II) ions. The compound decomposes in water resulting in a pH<4 solution. The FT-IR spectrum presented doublet bands at 2117; 2128 cm−1, 788; 773 cm−1 assigned to ν(C---N) and ν(C---S) stretching modes, respectively, and δ(SCN) deformation modes at 468; 476 cm−1. The Raman spectrum of the compound presented the ν(C---N) stretching as a strong doublet at 2122; 2128 cm−1, ν(C---S) at 783; 770 cm−1, and δ(SCN) at 468; 477 cm−1. No significant changes were observed in the 4-mepy ligand bands compared with the vibrational frequencies of the pure compound or the compound in aqueous solution 0.2 mol l−1. The crystal UV–vis reflectance spectrum presented two bands centered in 626 and 424 nm tentatively assigned to the d→d type transitions, 3A2g3T1g and 3A2g3T1g, for a symmetry close to Oh. The TG curve showed a mass loss between 120 and 200 °C assigned to the loss of the two 4-mepy molecules; from 200 to 265 °C, the loss of the two H+SCN groups; and from 265 to 450 °C, the loss of the two SCN groups that formed the bridges among the nickel atoms. Based on these mass loss data, a mechanism of thermal decomposition for the compound was proposed.  相似文献
