Aiming at the prediction of pleiotropic effects of drugs, we have investigated the multilabel classification of drugs that have one or more of 100 different kinds of activity labels. Structural feature representation of each drug molecule was based on the topological fragment spectra method, which was proposed in our previous work. Support vector machine (SVM) was used for the classification and the prediction of their activity classes. Multilabel classification was carried out by a set of the SVM classifiers. The collective SVM classifiers were trained with a training set of 59,180 compounds and validated by another set (validation set) of 29,590 compounds. For a test set that consists of 9,864 compounds, the classifiers correctly classified 80.8% of the drugs into their own active classes. The SVM classifiers also successfully performed predictions of the activity spectra for multilabel compounds.  相似文献

In the in vitro evaluation of Sun Protection Factor (SPF), the photostability of the ultraviolet (UV) filters can have a major impact, especially for high-SPF formulations, but is generally not taken into consideration. In this study, we present a UV transmission spectrum measurement system utilizing a high-sensitivity UV photomultiplier tube with concomitant evaluation of photostability. We have developed an algorithm to estimate SPF in vitro by converting the amount of UV light transmission through the sunscreen layer into cumulative relative erythema effectiveness to obtain one minimal erythema dose. Thus, the algorithm uses the same endpoint as in vivo SPF methods, but with a photomultiplier tube as the detector instead of skin. The values obtained showed an excellent correlation with in vivo SPF values, even for high-SPF sunscreens exceeding SPF 50. This method should be suitable as an in vitro SPF testing method for regulatory purposes.  相似文献

Electroresponsive structurally colored materials composed of ordered arrays of polyaniline@poly(methyl methacrylate) (PANI@PMMA) core–shell nanoparticles have been successfully prepared. The core–shell nanoparticles were synthesized by deposition of PANI shells on the surfaces of the PMMA cores by the oxidative polymerization of anilinium chloride. Ordered arrays were then fabricated by using the fluidic cell method. Because the ordered arrays and the PANI shells generate structural and electrochromic colors, respectively, these core–shell colloidal crystals exhibited colors resulting from the combined effects of these materials. The crystal colors depended greatly on the size of PANI@PMMA particles and could also be varied by the application of a voltage. The electrochromic colors of these arrays were found to be quite different from those exhibited by pure PANI films prepared by electrochemical oxidation.  相似文献

Dilute aqueous dispersions of charged colloidal silica (particle volume fraction = approximately 0.03-0.04, particle diameter = 110 nm) exhibit unidirectional crystal growth due to the diffusion of a weak base, pyridine (Py). Similar diffusion-crystallization is enabled by a salt of a weak acid and a strong base, sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3). The resulting crystals consist of columnar (or cubic) crystal grains with a maximum height of a few centimeters and a maximum width of 1 cm. The crystal growth process is attributed to a combination of (i) the diffusion of Py or NaHCO3 accompanied by a charging reaction of the silica particles and (ii) the charge-induced crystallization of the silica colloids. Theoretical growth curves based on the reaction-diffusion model for the case of Py were in good agreement with the observed curves. We also report the immobilization of the resulting large crystals by using a polymer hydrogel matrix.  相似文献

A thermal stable aromatic polyimide (PI) with side‐chain second‐order nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores has been developed. The PI was prepared by the ring‐opening polyaddition of 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride with a new diamine having two N‐ethyl‐N‐[4‐[(6‐chlorobenzothiazol‐2‐yl)diazenyl]phenyl]‐2‐aminoethanol units as the NLO chromophore, followed by poling during or after the thermal imidization process. The resulting PI had number and weight‐average molecular weights (Mn, Mw) of 25,000 and 80,000, respectively, and a relatively high glass transition temperature of 180°C. The second harmonic coefficient (d33) of PI at the wavelength of 1.064 μm was 138 pm/V (329.6 × 10−9 esu) and remained unchanged at elevated temperatures. The corona poling process of the NLO‐substituted poly(amic acid) to the PI was also studied in detail by measuring the second harmonic generation (SHG) from the polymer films. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
