Free-radical polymerization inside mesoporous silica has been investigated in order to open a route to functional polymer-silica composite materials with well-defined mesoporosity. Various vinyl monomers, such as styrene, chloromethyl styrene, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, and methacrylic acid, were polymerized after impregnation into mesoporous silicas with various structures, which were synthesized using polyalkylene oxide-type block copolymers. The location of the polymers was systematically controlled with detailed structures of the silica framework and the polymerization conditions. Particularly noteworthy is the polymer-silica composite structure obtained by in situ polymerization after the selective adsorption of monomers as a uniform film on silica walls. The analysis of XRD data and the N(2) adsorption isotherms indicates the formation of uniform polymer nanocoating. The resultant polymer-silica composite materials can easily be post-functionalized to incorporate diverse functional groups in high density, due to the open porous structure allowing facile access for the chemical reagent. The fundamental characteristics of the composite materials are substantiated by testing the biomolecule's adsorption capacity and catalytic reactivity. Depending on the structure and composition of polymers, the resultant polymer-silica composite materials exhibit notably distinct adsorption properties toward biomolecules, such as proteins. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the nanocoatings of polymers deposited on the mesopore walls have remarkably enhanced catalytic activity and selectivity, as compared to that of bulk polymer resins. We believe that, due to facile functionalization and attractive textural properties, the mesoporous polymer-silica composite materials are very useful for applications, such as adsorption, separation, host-guest complexes, and catalysis.  相似文献

Several water-soluble cationic surfactants, 4-alkylazobenzene-4'-(oxy-2-hydroxypropyl)trimethylammonium methylsulfate (AZMS) (AZMS-0, AZMS-1, AZMS-2, AZMS-4, and AZMS-8), containing alkylglycidylether and azoarene have been synthesized with high yields of 63-78% and their surface-active properties have been investigated upon irradiation with UV/vis light. All of the trans-AZMS surfactants are isomerized to cis-trans mixtures containing 92.5% cis isomer by UV light irradiation at 350 nm. The cis isomers in the mixtures are reverted to trans isomers by visible light irradiation (lambda>445 nm). Such photoisomerization induces changes in the surface activity of each surfactant. The critical micelle concentration (cmc) of the trans form of AZMS-8 surfactant is about 1.28x10(-4) mol/l. At the photostationary state, 92.5% of the trans form is changed to the cis form which exhibits a slightly higher cmc (3.41x10(-4) mol/l). The new cmc of AZMS surfactants upon photoisomerization is similar to that of the ideal mixed micellar system. In particular, the ratio of cmc(cis) to cmc(trans) of AZMS derivatives is about 1.87-2.85 which increases proportionally with the chain length of alkyl group. The minimum average area per molecule (A(min)(a/w)) for the trans and cis isomers of AZMS-8 is 0.60 and 0.74 nm(2), respectively. The difference in the A(min)(a/w) may originate from the structural differences in the two isomers. These values are quite different as compared to those of the conventional azobenzene surfactants. [reaction: see text] A new recyclable supported catalyst system for orthoalkylation was devised using a self-assembly consisting of the barbiturate and 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine H-bonding motifs. At high temperature, the system is completely homogeneous so as to give an efficient catalytic activity, while it is heterogenized at room temperature to form an insoluble solid phase for the easy recovery of the catalyst after the reaction.  相似文献

A novel method for the synthesis of cyclic peptide analogues has been developed. The general approach relies on the use of SET-promoted photocyclization reactions of peptides that contain N-terminal phthalimides as light absorbing electron acceptor moieties and C-terminal alpha-amidosilane or alpha-amidocarboxylate centers. Prototypical substrates are prepared by coupling preformed peptides with the acid chloride of N-phthalimidoglycine. Irradiation of these substrates results in the generation of cyclic peptide analogues in modest to good yields. The chemical efficiencies of these processes are not significantly affected by (1) the lengths of the peptide chains separating the phthalimide and alpha-amidosilane or alpha-amidocarboxylate centers and (2) the nature of the penultimate cation radical alpha-heterolytic fragmentation process (i.e., desilylation vs decarboxylation). An evaluation of the effects of N-alkyl substitution on the amide residues in the peptide chain showed that N-alkyl substitution does not have a major impact on the efficiencies of the photocyclization reactions but that it profoundly increases the stability of the cyclic peptide.  相似文献

We consider the tree search problem for the recurrence relation that appears in the evaluation of molecular integrals over Cartesian Gaussian basis functions. A systematic way of performing tree search is shown. By applying the result of tree searching to the LRL2 method of Lindh, Ryu, and Liu (LRL) (J. Chem. Phys., 95 , 5889 1991), which is an auxiliary function-based method, we obtain significant reductions of the floating point operations (FLOPS) counts in the K4 region. The resulting FLOPS counts in the K4 region are comparable up to [dd|dd] angular momentum cases to the LRL1 method of LRL, currently the method requiring least FLOPS for [dd|dd] and higher angular momentum basis functions. For [ff|ff], [gg|gg], [hh|hh], and [ii|ii] cases, the required FLOPS are 24, 40, 51, and 59%, respectively, less than the LRL1 method in the K4 region. These are the best FLOPS counts available in the literature for high angular momentum cases. Also, there will be no overhead in either the K2 or K0 region in implementing the present scheme. This should lead to more efficient codes of integral evaluations for higher angular momentum cases than any other existing codes. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A simple method of synthesizing a large quantity of TiO(2) nanorods was developed. A nonhydrolytic sol-gel reaction between titanium(IV) isopropoxide and oleic acid at 270 degrees C generated 3.4 nm (diameter) x 38 nm (length) sized TiO(2) nanocrystals. The transmission electron microscopic image showed that the particles have a uniform diameter distribution. X-ray diffraction and selected-area electron diffraction patterns combined with high-resolution transmission electron microscopic image showed that the TiO(2) nanorods are highly crystalline anatase crystal structure grown along the [001] direction. The diameters of the TiO(2) nanorods were controlled by adding 1-hexadecylamine to the reaction mixture as a cosurfactant. TiO(2) nanorods with average sizes of 2.7 nm x 28 nm, 2.2 nm x 32 nm, and 2.0 nm x 39 nm were obtained using 1, 5, and 10 mmol of 1-hexadecylamine, respectively. The optical absorption spectrum of the TiO(2) nanorods exhibited that the band gap of the nanorods was 3.33 eV at room temperature, which is 130 meV larger than that of bulk anatase (3.2 eV), demonstrating the quantum confinement effect. Oleic acid coordinated on the nanorod surface was removed by the reduction of the carboxyl group of oleic acid, and the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of the resulting naked TiO(2) nanorods was 198 m(2)/g. The naked TiO(2) nanorods exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than the P-25 photocatalyst for the photocatalytic inactivation of E. coli.  相似文献

We have used the high nucleophilicity of bromide ion in the form of the ionic liquid, 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([bmim][Br]), for the nucleophilic displacement of an alkyl group to regenerate a phenol from the corresponding aryl alkyl ether. Using 2-methoxynaphthalene (1) as a model compound, we found that the combination of ionic liquid [bmim][Br] and p-toluenesulfonic acid with warming effected demethylation in 14 h, affording the desired product 2-naphthol (2) in good yield (97%). Various other protic acids (MsOH, hydrochloric acid (35%), dilute sulfuric acid (50%)) could be used as a proton source in this demethylation reaction. Under the same conditions, cleavage of alkyl alkyl ether 2-(3-methoxypropyl)naphthalene yielded mixture of corresponding 2-(3-bromopropyl)naphthalene and 2-(3-hydroxypropyl)naphthalene. Dealkylation of various aryl alkyl ethers could also be achieved using significantly reduced (i.e., stoichiometric) amounts of concentrated hydrobromic acid (47%) in the ionic liquid. Both procedures afforded the desired products in moderate to good yield; however, cleavage of aryl alkyl cyclic ether, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran, resulted in low yield of the desired product o-2-bromoethylphenol. The convenience of this method for ether cleavage and its effectiveness using only a moderate excess of hydrobromic acid make it attractive as a green chemical method.  相似文献

The copper(II) ion in the synanti carboxyl­ate‐bridged one‐dimensional zigzag chain title complex, {[Cu(C16H18N3O2)]ClO4}n, exhibits a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal environment. Two N atoms and one carboxyl­ate O atom of the ligand form the basal plane, while the axial positions are filled by an N atom of the ligand and one O atom belonging to the carboxyl­ate group of an adjacent mol­ecule. Docking and scoring are critical issues in virtual drug screening methods. Fast and reliable methods are required for the prediction of binding affinity especially when applied to a large library of compounds. The implementation of receptor flexibility and refinement of scoring functions for this purpose are extremely challenging in terms of computational speed. Here we propose a knowledge-based multiple-conformation docking method that efficiently accommodates receptor flexibility thus permitting reliable virtual screening of large compound libraries. Starting with a small number of active compounds, a preliminary docking operation is conducted on a large ensemble of receptor conformations to select the minimal subset of receptor conformations that provides a strong correlation between the experimental binding affinity (e.g., Ki, IC50) and the docking score. Only this subset is used for subsequent multiple-conformation docking of the entire data set of library (test) compounds. In conjunction with the multiple-conformation docking procedure, a two-step scoring scheme is employed by which the optimal scoring geometries obtained from the multiple-conformation docking are re-scored by a molecular mechanics energy function including desolvation terms. To demonstrate the feasibility of this approach, we applied this integrated approach to the estrogen receptor alpha (ERalpha) system for which published binding affinity data were available for a series of structurally diverse chemicals. The statistical correlation between docking scores and experimental values was significantly improved from those of single-conformation dockings. This approach led to substantial enrichment of the virtual screening conducted on mixtures of active and inactive ERalpha compounds.  相似文献

We have developed a strategy of signal generation for immunosensors that transduces biospecific affinity recognition reactions into electrochemical signals. The cyclic voltammetric method, tracking the precipitation of insoluble products onto the sensing surface and the subsequent decrement in the electrode area, was chosen for signal registration. Precipitation of insolubilities was induced by the catalytic reaction of enzymes, which were labeled to the biospecifically attached protein or antibody molecules. As a model system for affinity recognition, we have investigated the functionalization of biotin groups to the sensing monolayer and their biospecific interactions with anti-biotin antibody molecules. The immunosensing interface was developed onto the dendrimer-activated self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), as the base template for the functionalization of the antigen moiety and signal generation. The advantages of using dendrimer-activated SAMs in comparison to the plain modified thiolate SAMs for the sensing surface were shown in terms of sensing performances, and the analytical characteristics of the resulting immunosensor were examined. Additionally, the sensing system was applied for biotin/(strept)avidin couples, extending the applicability of the developed strategy.  相似文献
