Soluble,saturated‐red‐light‐emitting poly(p‐phenylenevinylene) containing triphenylamine units and cyano groups

A conjugated poly(p‐CN‐phenylenevinylene) (PCNPV) containing both electron‐donating triphenylamine units and electron‐withdrawing cyano groups was prepared via Knoevenagel condensation in a good yield. Gel permeation chromatography suggested that the soluble polymer had a very high weight‐average molecular weight of 309,000. A bright and saturated red emission was observed under UV excitation in solution and film. Cyclic voltammetry showed that the polymer presented quasi‐reversible oxidation with a relatively low potential because of the triphenylamine unit. A single‐layer indium tin oxide/PCNPV/Mg–Ag device emitted a bright red light (633 nm). © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 42: 3947–3953, 2004     

Effect of α‐cyclodextrin on the crystallization of poly (3‐hydroxybutyrate)

The effect of α‐cyclodextrin (α‐CD) on the crystallization behavior of poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) was investigated with polarized optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. We found that the addition of α‐CD can greatly accelerate the crystallization of PHB and that α‐CD has a potential not only to enhance the nucleation but also to accelerate the crystallization of PHB. Compared to a conventional nucleation agent, such as talc, α‐CD is a natural product and has many advantages because it is environmentally friendly and safe to humans. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Sol–Gel-Derived Corrosion-Protection Coatings

There is a current need for alternative coatings that can provide corrosion resistance to metals or alloy surfaces due to the environmental hazards posed by conventional coatings. Herein, we report on novel organically-modified sol–gel coatings for the protection of metal and alloy surfaces. The basic concept of chemical conversion of metal surfaces is based on deposition of a hydrophobic, nonporous sol–gel barrier layer for surface protection and corrosion prevention. The properties of these organosilica coatings can be tuned by varying the composition of precursors. The evaluation of hydrophobicity, adhesive strength, and anticorrosion properties of organically-modified sol–gel derived coatings suggests their potential utility as technologically-compatible alternatives to conventional coatings.     

X波段六腔渡越管振荡器的高频特性研究

 从麦克斯韦方程出发，采用时域有限差分法（FDTD）和离散傅里叶变换（DFFT）相结合的方法，通过数值计算得出了六腔开放式谐振腔中前四个谐振频率和场分布，计算出的谐振频率与实验测量结果基本相同。比较了开放腔和封闭腔谐振频率，验证了TEM波吸收边界条件，并在实际编程计算中得以应用。计算结果为六腔渡越管振荡器的机理研究提供了依据。     

The Isoelectric Point and the Points of Zero Charge of Fe-Al-Mg Hydrotalcite-like Compounds

The relation of the isoelectric point (IEP) and the point of zero net charge (PZNC) of the hydrotalcite-like compounds was discussed. It was found that the IEP does not equal to the PZNC and the IEP is higher than the PZNC. The structural positive charges existing in the HTlc,which cause the difference between the IEP and the PZNC. The effects of the structural positive charges of the HTlc on its IEP and PZNC are the same as the specific adsorption of metal cations.

An overall study of convergence conditions for algorithms in nonlinear programming

Since the point-to-set maps were introduced by Zangwill^[1] in the study of conceptual algorithms, various sufficient conditions for the algorithms to be of global convergence have been established. In this paper, the relations among all these conditions are illustrated by a unified approach; still more, unlike the sufficient conditions previously given in the literature, a new necessary condition is put forward at the end of the paper, so that it implies more applications.     

THE EXISTENCE THEOREM OF THE CONE-WEAK SUBDIFFERENTIAL OF SET-VALUED MAPPING

In this paper, the existence theorem of the cone-weak subdiflerential of set-valued mapping in locally convex topological vector space is proved.     

Determination of tyrosine traces by adsorption voltammetry of its copper (II) complex

The electrochemical behavior of the copper-tyrosine complex has been studied by linear-sweep adsorption voltammetry. In 0.02 mol/L Na₂HPO₄ buffer solution (pH=9.6), the complex can be adsorped on a hanging mercury drop electrode and reduced at a peak potential of about –0.42 V (vs. SCE). The secondary derivative peak height is linear proportional to the concentration of tyrosine in the range 1.0×10^–7–5.0×10^–5 mol/L. Quality assurance for the analytical data of micro elements in food

The micro element content of food is an important quality index due to the action of these elements on human health. In this article, we discuss how to ensure the reliability of analytical data on micro elements in order to truly represent the condition of food. Sampling, treatment of the analytical sample, selection of the analytical method, standard solution, and certified reference material, blank test, calibration of the instrument and equipment, application of the quality control chart, assessment of the final analytical result, and quality assurance system are briefly described.
