Highly (100)-oriented, (110)-oriented and polycrystalline LaNiO3 (LNO) films were successfully prepared on Si(100) using an oriented MgO film as a buffer. It was somewhat surprising to find
that that the orientation relation between the LNO film and the corresponding MgO buffer was: LNO(100)\MgO(110), LNO(110)\MgO(111)
and LNO(polycrystalline)\MgO(100). The crystalline quality of the LNO films was shown to be sensitive to the preparation conditions
of the MgO buffer. The film surface was very smooth, without micrometer-sized droplets being observed. All LNO films were
of metallic conductivity, with a room-temperature resistivities of approximately 250, 280 and 420 μΩ cm for the (110)-oriented,
(100)-oriented and polycrystalline LNO, respectively.

In this paper, we report on all the electro-optic coefficients of the low-symmetry crystal YbCa4O(BO3)3 measured by the interferometric method. The new sample orientations, which have not been reported so far, have been used for measuring the skew electro-optic coefficients γ51, γ53, γ42 and γ62 independently. The results obtained are γ11=0.6, γ21=0.4, γ31=0.3, γ13=0.3, γ23=0.2, γ33=2.2, γ51=0.9, γ53=4.1, γ42=0.8 and γ62=0.4×10−12 m/V. 相似文献

A multi-exposure of color fringes method has been developed to improve the capture speed of a conventional color CCD camera. In the method, four groups of projected fringe patterns encoded with different colors and different directions are stored in one CCD frame. Therefore the capture frequency of the conventional CCD can be improved to 200 Hz. It is available to measure the insect wings with low beating frequency, such as dragonfly, moth, or butterfly, whose beating frequency is about 30–40 Hz. A simplified structure of birefringent chalcogenide As 2 Se 3 photonic crystal fiber(PCF) is designed.Properties of birefringence,polarization extinction ratio,chromatic dispersion,nonlinear coefficient,and transmission are studied by using the multipole method,the finite-difference beam propagation method,and the adaptive split-step Fourier method.Considering that the zero dispersion wavelength of our proposed fiber is about 4 μm,we have analysed the mechanism of spectral broadening in PCFs with different pitches in detail,with femtosecond pulses at a wavelength of 4 μm as the pump pulses.Especially,mid-infrared broadband polarized supercontinuums are obtained in a 3-cm PCF with an optimal pitch of 2 μm.Their spectral width at 20 dB reaches up to 12 μm.In the birefringent PCF,we find that the supercontinuum generation changes with the pump alignment angle.Research results show that no coupling between eigenpolarization modes are observed at the maximum average power(i.e.,37 mW),which indicates that the polarization state is well maintained. 相似文献

Curved magnetic ducts are frequently used to remove macroscopic-sized droplets from the plasma stream of cathodic vacuum arcs. The plasma of a cathodic vacuum arc in a magnetic filter is characterized by a strongly directional ion velocity (corresponding to 20-100 eV) and magnetized electrons. In the first section of this paper the effects of these features on the I-V characteristic curves of planar probes are identified and explained using a simple model. This is then used to interpret the interaction of the plasma with the walls of a biased quarter torus duct. Two small electrodes placed on the outer and inner sections of the curved duct wall show that the I-V characteristic is determined primarily by the electron-ion current balance at the wall on the outside of the curve. The application of a bias to a planar electrode on the outer wall section was found to give the same increase in throughput as a positive bias applied to the entire duct with the advantage of a much smaller electron current being drawn by the biasing power supply. The improvement in duct throughput achievable with positive-biasing of the duct wall was found to depend on both the configuration and strength of the magnetic field in the quarter torus filter.
