Mutual information (MI) based image registration has been found to be quite effective in many medical image applications. However, standard MI hampers the convergence of registration transformation parameters since it contains local maxima. In this paper, a novel registration method is proposed. At first,MI based on edge width matching is computed to avoid great change of joint probability distribution and get less local maxima. Particle swarm optimization (PSO), which combines local search methods with global ones balancing exploration and exploitation, is done to search the optimal registration parameter.PSO has less computational complexity as its complex behavior follows only a few simple rules. It could avoid local maxima and reach global optimal results. This method is applicable to a variety of multimodal images, and suitable to different interpolation methods. Theoretical analysis and experiments show that this method is effective and accurate to register multimodal medical images.  相似文献

In this paper, near-wall electrophoretic motion of spherical particles in cylindrical capillaries was experimentally investigated. It is demonstrated that same-sized particles move faster in smaller capillaries. This observation verifies the theoretical prediction of the wall enhancing effect in our recent paper (C. Ye, X. Xuan, D. Li, Microfluid. Nanofluid. 1 (2005)). Our experiments show that this wall enhancing effect becomes more significant when the size difference between particle and capillary becomes smaller and when a dilute electrolyte solution (i.e., thicker electric double layer) is used.  相似文献

Fatigue and impairment mobility are frequent problems in multiple sclerosis (MS). Despite its enormous potential, in vivo (1)H MRS of skeletal muscles for MS patients is a largely unexplored field. One fundamental question remains unanswered: whether MS can cause observable proton metabolite changes. High quality two-dimensional in vivo (1)H MRS reveals that the spectral pattern of total creatine (tCr) and trimethyl ammonium (TMA) of soleus muscles of MS patients can be distinctively different from that of healthy volunteers, and in vivo (1)H MRS of skeletal muscles has a potential to become a useful tool in MS study.  相似文献

Abel went on to study, well, abelian integrals, and it is Chebychev who explains – using continued fractions – what is going on with these ‘quasi-elliptic’ integrals. Recently, the second author computed all the polynomials D over the rationals of degree 4 that have an f as above. We will explain various contexts in which the present issues arise. Those contexts include symbolic integration of algebraic functions; the study of units in function fields; and, given a suitable polynomial g, the consideration of period length of the continued fraction expansion of the numbers as n varies in the integers. But the major content of this survey is an introduction to period continued fractions in hyperelliptic – thus quadratic – function fields.
