We propose and experimentally demonstrate an alternative photonic scheme for the generation of ultrawideband (UWB) doublet pulses, which is based on an optical fiber-based nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) incorporating the optical parametric amplification (OPA) effect. The proposed scheme uses both cross-phase modulation and OPA within an optical fiber-based NOLM to produce an ideal transfer function for the shaping of input soliton pulses into doublet pulses. Using the proposed scheme, a successful conversion of input soliton pulses into doublet pulses is readily demonstrated. The system performance of UWB doublet pulses is also assessed by propagating the 1.25?Gbit/s doublet pulses over a fiber link. Error-free UWB doublet signal transmission is demonstrated. 相似文献

BN sheets with absorbed transition metal (TM) single atoms, including Fe, Co, and Ni, and their dimers have been investigated by using a first-principles method within the generalized gradient approximation. All of the TM atoms studied are found to be chemically adsorbed on BN sheets. Upon adsorption, the binding energies of the Fe and Co single atoms are modest and almost independent of the adsorption sites, indicating the high mobility of the adatoms and isolated particles to be easily formed on the surface. However, Ni atoms are found to bind tightly to BN sheets and may adopt a layer-by-layer growth mode. The Fe, Co, and Ni dimers tend to lie (nearly) perpendicular to the BN plane. Due to the wide band gap of the pure BN sheet, the electronic structures of the BN sheets with TM adatoms are determined primarily by the distribution of TM electronic states around the Fermi level. Very interesting spin gapless semiconductors or half-metals can be obtained in the studied systems. The magnetism of the TM atoms is preserved well on the BN sheet, very close to that of the corresponding free atoms and often weakly dependent on the adsorption sites. The present results indicate that BN sheets with adsorbed TM atoms have potential applications in fields such as spintronics and magnetic data storage due to the special spin-polarized electronic structures and magnetic properties they possess. 相似文献

Li[Co0.1Ni0.15Li0.2Mn0.55]O2 was synthesized, as a cathode material with high capacity, by a simple combustion method followed by annealing at 800?°C. Li[Co0.1Ni0.15Li0.2Mn0.55]O2 cathode materials were coated with lithium-active Co3(PO4)2 to improve the electrochemical performance of rechargeable lithium batteries. Morphologies and physical properties of Li[Co0.1Ni0.15Li0.2Mn0.55]O2 before and after the Co3(PO4)2 coating were analyzed with a scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope. Transmission electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and Brunauer?CEmmett?CTeller surface area analyses were also carried out. The electrochemical performances of Li[Co0.1Ni0.15Li0.2Mn0.55]O2 cathode material before and after Co3(PO4)2 coating were evaluated by galvanostatic charge?Cdischarge testing at different charge and discharge densities. The temperature dependence of the cathode material before and after Co3(PO4)2 coating was investigated at 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50?°C at a rate of 0.1?C. Co3(PO4)2-Li[Co0.1Ni0.15Li0.2Mn0.55]O2 exhibited good electrochemical performance under high C-rate and experimental temperature conditions. The enhanced electrochemical performances were attributed to the formation of a lithium-active Co3(PO4)2-coating layer on Li[Co0.1Ni0.15Li0.2Mn0.55]O2. 相似文献

In this paper, we show that if G is a supermagic even graph with a balanced edge coloring and m ≥ 1, then (2m + 1)G is a supermagic graph. This paper reports the fabrication of J-shaped bent-waveguide superluminescent diodes utilizing an InAlGaAs/AlGaAs quantum dot active region. The emission spectrum of the device is centred at 884 nm with a full width at half maximum of 37 nm and an output power of 18 mW. By incorporating an Al composition into the quantum dot active region, short-wavelength superluminescent diode devices can be obtained. An intersection was found for the light power-injection current curves measured from the straight-waveguide facet and the bent-waveguide facet, respectively. The result is attributed to the conjunct effects of the gain and the additional loss of the bent waveguide. A numerical simulation is performed to verify the qualitative explanation. It is shown that bent waveguide loss is an important factor that affects the output power of J-shaped superluminescent diode devices. 相似文献
