We have developed an acoustic-based tunable patterning technique by which microparticles or cells can be arranged into reconfigurable patterns in microfluidic channels. In our approach, we use pairs of slanted-finger interdigital transducers (SFITs) to generate a tunable standing surface acoustic wave field, which in turn patterns microparticles or cells in one- or two-dimensional arrays inside the microfluidic channels--all without the assistance of fluidic flow. By tuning the frequency of the input signal applied to the SFITs, we have shown that the cell pattern can be controlled with tunability of up to 72%. This acoustic-based tunable patterning technique has the advantages of wide tunability, non-invasiveness, and ease of integration to lab-on-a-chip systems, and shall be valuable in many biological and colloidal studies.  相似文献

This paper describes a new placement method based on pattern matching for 2D tiling problems. Tiling problem can be considered as a special case of bin packing. In the proposed method, the representation of the figures and the board is based on directional chain codes. Contrary to other works that the area has been used for the board and the figures, the proposed method is based on usage of their boundaries instead. With this representation, consideration of the area has been replaced with that of the exact string matching. With the proposed knowledge representation, rotation and reflection of the figures can be considered easily. The results of a hybrid approach of genetic algorithm and simulated annealing have been shown. This new method, introduces a novel approach for handling and solving a variety of 2D-packing problems.  相似文献

A novel ‘ionic liquid-mediated multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS)’ hybrid coating was prepared by the covalent functionalization of MWCNTs with hydroxyl-terminated PDMS using the sol–gel technique. The prepared fiber was successfully used for the separation and determination of trace amounts of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compounds (PAHs) in four urine samples using head-space solid-phase microextraction coupled to gas chromatography-flame ionization detection. The proposed fiber has high thermal stability and long durability and it can be used more than 210 times without any significant change in its sorption properties. The effects of important parameters such as the exposure time, sampling temperature, sample ionic strength and stirring rate on the extraction efficiency have been studied and optimized. Under the optimal conditions, the method detection limits (S/N = 3) were in the range of 0.0005–0.004 ng mL?1 and the limits of quantification (S/N = 10) between 0.002 and 0.01 ng mL?1. The relative standard deviations for one fiber (repeatability, n = 5) were 4.9–7.5 % and for the fibers obtained from different batches (reproducibility, n = 3), 6.1–8.9 %. The developed method was successfully applied to determine trace levels of PAHs in real urine samples. The obtained relative recoveries for the spiked samples with 0.05 ng mL?1 of each of the PAH compounds were 89.3–107.2 %.  相似文献

The unfertilized oocyte is surrounded by a spherical layer called the zona pellucida (ZP). The physical hardness of this layer plays a crucial role in fertilization and it is largely unknown because of the lack of appropriate measuring and modeling methods. Recently, considerable biomedical attentions have concentrated on determination of the mechanical properties of oocytes as a single cell. In order to investigate the biophysical characteristics of mammalian oocytes, a change in the elasticity of human ZP has been quantitatively evaluated before and after fertilization. Young’s modulus of ZP of metaphase-II (MII) and pronuclear (PN) stages have been estimated using two different protocols of the micropipette aspiration, step-by-step and continuous increase in pressure, in combination with proportional theoretical models. Experimental results clearly demonstrated that after fertilization the mean Young’s modulus of the ZP calculated from the step-by-step aspiration test (MII: 7.34 ± 1.36 kPa vs PN: 13.18 ± 1.17 kPa.) and continuous aspiration test (MII: 2.41 ± 0.75 kPa vs. PN: 4.43 ± 1.66 kPa) significantly increased, (p < 0.05). Mathematical Evaluation of the results shows that although the results of the two methods are different but both confirm that the hardening of ZP will increase following fertilization. As can be seen, different experimental methods can influence the choice of the models and this in turn will lead the mechanical properties to be found.  相似文献

The present research investigated the effects of two vitrification methods on sheep ovarian tissue. The base medium (BM) of the vitrification solutions contains 60% HEPES tissue culture medium (HTCM), 15% ethylene glycol (EG) and 15% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Ovarian cortex pieces were dehydrated by two different regimens, the 2-step which consisted of 50% BM and a 90% solution of 0.25 mol/L sucrose in BM for 10 minutes each at 4 degree C and the 4-step method which utilized: a) 25% BM, b) 50% BM, c) 75% BM and d) a 90% solution of 0.25 mol/L sucrose in BM for 5 minutes each at 4 degree C. After warming, the proportion of intact antral follicles in the control (non-vitrified) and 2-step vitrification groups was significantly higher than in the 4-step vitrification group. The number of apoptotic follicles in the ovarian pieces was significantly different between the control and 4-step vitrification groups. These results indicated that sheep ovarian tissue vitrification by the 2-step method was simpler and more effective than the 4-step method.  相似文献

This paper presents the molecular mechanics based finite element modeling of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their applications as mass sensors. The beam element with elastic behavior is considered as the bond between the carbon atoms and its properties are obtained using equating continuum and molecular characteristics. The first five natural frequencies of CNTs in cantilever and doubly clamped boundary conditions (BCs) and their corresponding mode shapes are studied in detail. Furthermore, a multilayer perceptron neural network is used to predict the fundamental vibration frequencies of the CNTs with different diameters and lengths. In addition, variations of the natural frequencies of the CNTs with distorted cross sections are investigated. Moreover, the effects of some attached masses with various values on the first three natural frequencies of a considered CNT are studied here.  相似文献

Dizinc(II) complexes of two acyclic Schiff‐base ligands L1 and L2 were synthesized by Schiff base condensation of 2‐[3‐(2‐formylphenoxy)‐2‐hydroxypropoxy]benzaldehyde ( PL ) with 1,2‐diaminopropane and 1,2‐diaminoethane, respectively, in the presence of zinc(II) salts. The isolation of a selection of 2:1 (metal:ligand) complexes of zinc(II) was carried out and conductance measurements, IR, UV/Vis absorption, and fluorescence emission spectroscopy, as well as X‐ray diffraction were employed to probe the nature of the respective complexes in both solid and solution states. The molecular structure of [Zn2 L1 (NO3)3] ( 1 ) complex consists of two six‐coordinate atoms, which are bridged by the deprotonated hydroxy group and one 1,3‐bridging nitrate anion. The structure of [Zn2 L2 (NO3)(H2O)2](NO3)2 · CH3OH ( 3 ) consists of a dizinc cation and two nitrate anions as counterions. In compound 3 , each zinc atom is bound to water instead of a terminal nitrate anion in a distorted octahedral arrangement. The intermetallic separation distance of Zn ··· Zn in 3 (3.376 Å) is slightly smaller than 1 (3.403 Å) and is similar to that found in zinc phosphotriesterase (3.5 Å). The π–π interactions between the benzene rings of adjacent molecules in 3 are stronger than in 1 .  相似文献

Sr(Zr0.84Y0.16)0.91O3 ? δ (SZY) and Ba(Zr0.84Y0.16)0.96O3 ? δ (BZY) protonic conductor coatings were co-sputter deposited from metallic targets in argon–oxygen reactive gas mixtures. The chemical and structural features were investigated by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, and their morphology was assessed by scanning electron microscopy of the surface and of brittle fracture cross sections. The electrical properties of the coating were determined by complex impedance spectroscopy as a function of temperature in air. Relationships are established between the electrical properties and the morphology of the coatings. The SZY as deposited coatings is amorphous and crystallises under the convenient perovskite structure after annealing treatment at 873 K under air. The BZY as deposited coatings is crystallised at 523 K in situ under perovskite structure and a further annealing treatment increases the grain size. Conductivities and activation energies of crystallised coatings were 3.1 · 10? 5 S cm? 1/2 · 10? 5 S cm? 1 and 0.65 eV/0.71 eV after stabilization at 773 K for strontium and barium zirconate, respectively.  相似文献

SrZr1−x Y x O3 coatings were co-sputtered from metallic Zr–Y (84–16 at.%) and Sr targets in the presence of a reactive argon–oxygen gas mixture. The structural and chemical features of the film have been assessed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The electrical properties have been investigated for different substrates by Complex Impedance Spectroscopy as a function of crystalline state, temperature and atmosphere. The as-deposited coatings are amorphous and crystallise after annealing at 673 K for 2 h under air. The stabilisation of the perovskite structure is a function of the nominal composition. The films are dense and present a good adhesion on different substrates. Crystallisation and mechanical stresses are detected by alternating current (AC) impedance spectroscopy. Significant ionic conductivity in the 473–823 K temperature range is evidenced in air. Two different conduction regimes in the presence of steam are attributed to a modification of the charge carrier nature. In spite of low conductivity values (σ ~10−6 S.cm−1 at 881 K), the activation energies are in agreement with that of Y-doped strontium zirconate ceramics (~0.7 eV in air).  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new iterative method based on the hybrid viscosity approximation method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of a general system of variational inequalities, an equilibrium problem, and the set of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Hilbert space. We prove a strong convergence theorem of the proposed iterative scheme under some suitable conditions on the parameters. Furthermore, we apply our main result for W-mappings. Finally, we give two numerical results to show the consistency and accuracy of the scheme.  相似文献
