Developing the quantum transition rate theory of Prezhdo and Rossky (J. Chem. Phys. 1997, 107, 5863), we produced a new non-Condon theory of the rate of electron transfer (ET) which happens through a protein medium with conformational fluctuation. The new theory is expressed by a convolution form of the power spectrum for the autocorrelation function of the electronic tunneling matrix element T(DA)(t) with quantum correction and the ordinary Franck-Condon factor. The new theory satisfies the detailed balance condition for the forward and backward ET rates. The ET rate formula is divided into two terms of elastic and inelastic tunneling mechanisms on the mathematical basis. The present theory is applied to the ET from Bph(-) to Q(A) in the reaction center of Rhodobacter sphaeroides. Numerical calculations of T(DA)(t) were made by a combined method of molecular dynamics simulations and quantum chemistry calculations. We showed that the normalized autocorrelation function of T(DA)(t) is almost expressed by exponential forms. The calculated energy gap law of the ET rate is nearly Marcus' parabola in most of the normal region and around the maximum region, but it does not decay substantially in the inverted region, which is called the anomalous inverted region. We also showed that the energy gap law at the high uphill energy gap in the normal region is elevated considerably from the Marcus' parabola, which is called the anomalous normal region. Those anomalous energy gap laws are due to the inelastic tunneling mechanism which works actively at the energy gap far from zero. We presented an empirical formula for easily calculating the non-Condon ET rate, which is usable by many researchers. We provided experimental evidence for the anomalous inverted region which was basically reproduced by the present theory. The present theory was extensively compared with the previous non-Condon theories.  相似文献

A diode-pumped chirped-pulse regenerative amplifier with a cooled Yb:YLF crystal has been developed. The output pulse energy is 30 mJ at 20-Hz repetition rate. A high effective extraction efficiency of 68% is obtained, which is attributed to reduced saturation fluence at low temperature and to a high effective pulse energy fluence during regenerative amplification. After pulse compression by use of a parallel grating pair, 18-mJ pulse energy and 795-fs pulse duration are obtained.  相似文献

Periodic arrays of submicron Si and Ni dots were fabricated by only irradiating a linearly polarized Nd:YAG pulsed laser beam to Si and Ni thin films deposited on silicon dioxide (SiO2) film. The interference between an incident beam and a scattered surface wave leads to the spatial periodicity of beam energy density distribution on the surface of the irradiated samples. A thin film was melted using a laser beam, and the molten film was split and condensed owing to its surface tensile according to the periodic energy density distribution. Then, the fine lines (line and space structure) were formed periodically. After the formation of fine lines, the sample was rotated by 90°, and the laser beam was irradiated. The periodic energy density distribution was generated on the fine lines, and the lines were split and condensed. Eventually, the periodically aligned submicron dots were fabricated on the SiO2 film. The effects of persimmon tannin on pathophysiological changes in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRSP) were investigated. When the persimmon tannin was chronically ingested by SHRSP, the life span was significantly prolonged, yet the effect on blood pressure was slight. The incidences of brain hemorrhage and infarction were also significantly decreased by this treatment. To elucidate the mechanisms involved in these events, the effects of condensed tannins, including persimmon tannin, on free radicals and lipid peroxidation were examined in vitro. Using electron spin resonance analysis, we found that these tannins have a potent, concentration-dependent scavenging action toward active oxygen free radicals. These tannins strongly inhibited lipid peroxidation in rat brain homogenates, in a concentration-dependent manner. Persimmon tannin inhibited lipid peroxidation similarly to (-)-epigallocatechin. Persimmon tannin was 20 times more effective than alpha-tocopherol in terms of the 50%-inhibitory concentration. The radical scavenging action and inhibition of lipid peroxidation by persimmon tannin may explain, in part, the prolongation of the life span of the SHRSP ingesting persimmon tannin.  相似文献

A new method for the determination of adenine phosphoribosyltransferase (APRT) activity in human erythrocytes is described. APRT activity was assayed by a non-radiochemical method in which adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and AMP metabolites produced from a substrate adenine were converted to inosine by alkaline phosphatase and adenosine deaminase. The inosine thus produced was quantitated by reversed phase HPLC. This method was simple, precise, sensitive and free from interference with other co-existing erythrocyte enzymes. Four patients with 2,8-dihydroxyadenine urolithiasis and others with several disorders in purine metabolism have been studied, showing that the present method is clinically useful for the diagnosis and the evaluation of the severity of some human diseases.  相似文献

Interchange between the nickel +2 and +3 oxidation states precisely controls the reversible rearrangement of the tris(2-pyridylthio)methanide (tptm) ligand in the organometallic nickel(II) complex [{Ni(μ-Br)-(tptm)}(2)] (2). Oxidation of 2 first gives the corresponding Ni(III) complex [{Ni(μ-Br)(tptm)}(2)][PF(6)](2) (4). However, in solution the tptm ligand in 4 slowly undergoes a rearrangement, in which the N and S atoms of one of the pyridylthiolate arms exchange Ni and C bonding partners, thereby resulting in an "N,S-confused" isomer of tptm in the product, [NiBr(bpttpm)]PF(6) (5; bpttpm= bis(2-pyridylthio)(2-thiopyridinium)-methyl). Reduction of 5 reverses this ligand rearrangement and 2 is reformed quantitatively. The individual steps involved in these unusual ligand rearrangements were investigated by a number of methods, including voltammetric analysis, and a mechanism for this process is proposed. X-ray crystal structure determinations of the key compounds 2, 4 and 5 have been obtained.  相似文献

Nickel complexes having acetylated glucopyranosyl group incorporated N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands with methyl or benzyl groups as an N-substituent exhibit two kinds of dynamic behaviours in solution (1)H NMR spectroscopy. One of the dynamic behaviours is attributed to the anti- and syn-rotamers, which occur by the rotation of the unsymmetrical NHC ligands around the axes of the Ni-C bonds. The other is attributed to the diastereomers of the syn-rotamers, which occur by opposite rotation of the imidazolylidene rings and the chiral carbohydrate group incorporated into the NHC ligands. Crystallographic analysis of the nickel complex having the NHC ligand with acetylated glucopyranosyl and benzyl groups as N-substituents showed CH-π interaction between the glucopyranosyl unit of each NHC ligand and the phenyl ring of the other NHC ligand in the complex in the solid state.  相似文献
