Regularity Criteria of MHD System Involving One Velocity and One Current Density Component

We study a regularity criteria of the three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics system. In particular, we obtain a regularity criteria that involves one velocity component and one current density component. Its immediate consequence is a regularity criteria in terms of one velocity component and two entries from the Jacobian matrix of the magnetic vector field, in contrast to many previous results that involve three entries all from the Jacobian matrix of the velocity vector field. Moreover, the conditions on the current density component is in the norm with scaling dimension zero; i.e. Serrin-class.     

Development of a solid-supported biotinylation reagent for efficient biotin labeling of SH groups on small molecules

We report here the design and synthesis of a novel and selective SH-group biotinylating reagent, KSH-1 (1), for the biotinylation of small molecules using solid phase chemistry. The results demonstrate that 1 efficiently biotinylated a small molecule, captopril, and afforded the product in high yield and purity.

A Note on Dimer Models and McKay Quivers

We give one formulation of a procedure of Hanany and Vegh (J High Energy Phys 0710(029):35, 2007) which takes a lattice polygon as an input and produces a set of isoradial dimer models. We study the case of lattice triangles in detail and discuss the relation with coamoebas following Feng et al. (Adv Theor Math Phys 12(3):489–545, 2008).     

Loss of Trace Elements From Natural Water During Storage 2. Behavior of 203HgCl2, CH3 203HgCl and 65ZnCl2 Added to Marine Water

Dilute solutions (10–50 ppb) of mercury and zinc are prepared using artificial marine water and natural marine water, labelled with ²⁰³Hg and ⁶⁵Zn.

²⁰³Hg in inorganic form is lost considerably from both solutions caused by vaporization to the atomosphere and presumably by adsorption to the surface of containers. In natural marine water some biological activities participate for the behavior of both metals but it seems to be in smaller extent than that in pond water. ⁶⁵Zn remained constant with no loss under these experimental conditions.

When CH₃ ²⁰³HgC1 is added to the solution instead of ²⁰³HgC1₂, ²⁰³Hg is scarcely lost but a smaller amount is observed to be lost by vaporization from well-test tubes. In natural marine water, however, CH₃ ²⁰³HgC1 is also lost in the similar manner as ²⁰³HgC1₂.     

Study for the ω–N Interaction Through ω Photoproduction Near the Threshold

The total cross section has been measured for ω meson photoproduction on the proton for the center-of-mass energy ${\sqrt{s}}$ ranging from 1.69 to 1.75 GeV. Including the subthreshold region of ω photoproduction, a set of about 40 data points has been obtained with a fine energy step of 1–2 MeV. The data set enables us to deduce the ω-N scattering length.
