The tropical arithmetic operations on R are defined by a⊕b=min{a,b} and a⊗b=a+b. Let A be a tropical matrix and k a positive integer, the problem of Tropical Matrix Factorization (TMF) asks whether there exist tropical matrices B∈Rm×k and C∈Rk×n satisfying B⊗C=A. We show that the TMF problem is NP-hard for every k≥7 fixed in advance, thus resolving a problem proposed by Barvinok in 1993. 相似文献

Ion storage in an electrostatic trap has been implemented with the introduction of the Orbitrap Fourier transform mass spectrometer
(FTMS), which demonstrates performance similar to high-field ion cyclotron resonance MS. High mass spectral characteristics
resulted in rapid acceptance of the Orbitrap FTMS for Life Sciences applications. The basics of Orbitrap operation are well
documented; however, like in any ion trap MS technology, its performance is limited by interactions between the ion clouds.
These interactions result in ion cloud couplings, systematic errors in measured masses, interference between ion clouds of
different size yet with close m/z ratios, etc. In this work, we have characterized the space-charge effect on the measured frequency for the Orbitrap FTMS,
looking for the possibility to achieve sub-ppm levels of mass measurement accuracy (MMA) for peptides in a wide range of total
ion population. As a result of this characterization, we proposed an m/z calibration law for the Orbitrap FTMS that accounts for the total ion population present in the trap during a data acquisition
event. Using this law, we were able to achieve a zero-space charge MMA limit of 80 ppb for the commercial Orbitrap FTMS system
and sub-ppm level of MMA over a wide range of total ion populations with the automatic gain control values varying from 10

The Wakimoto construction for the quantum affine algebra U $_q$ ( $(\widehat{\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2 })$ ) admits a reduction to the q-deformed parafermion algebras. We interpret the latter theory as a free field realization of the Andrews–Baxter–Forrester models in regime II. We discuss the relaxation dynamics of glycerol-water mixtures, as studied by dielectric spectroscopy in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 250 MHz and at temperatures between 173 and 323 K. The experimental results obtained for the glycerol-rich mixtures suggest that the main dielectric relaxation process, as well as the so-called high-frequency "excess wing" (EW) and dc conductivity, follow the same temperature dependence. This result indicates that all of these processes are induced by the same molecular origin. A new phenomenological function is proposed to describe the whole dielectric spectrum in the covered frequency range, and some possible mechanisms of dielectric behaviors through the dc conductivity, the main relaxation process, and the EW are discussed. 相似文献

The title complex, [CuCl(C4H8OS)]n, contains infinite spiral (CuS)n chains linked by bridging Cl atoms into layers. The Cl atoms do not form polymeric fragments with CuI, but combine into isolated centrosymmetric Cu2Cl2 units. The compound is non‐isomorphous with the Br‐containing analogue, which contains Cu8S8 rings linked by Br atoms into chains. The O atom of the 1,4‐oxathiane molecule does not realize its coordination abilities in the known copper(I)–halide complexes, while in copper(II)–halide complexes, oxathiane is coordinated via the S and O atoms. This falls into a pattern of the preferred interactions, viz. weak acid (CuI atom) with weak base (S atom) and harder acid (CuII atom) with harder base (O atom). 相似文献

A new, simple, rapid, and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of nitrophenols [picric acid (PA); dinitrophenols (DNP)] in wastewater samples. The method is based on the reaction of nitrophenols with 2-[(E)-2-(4-diethylaminophenyl)-1-ethenyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3 H-indolium chloride reagent to form the colored ion associates, which are extracted by organic solvents. The molar absorptivity of the ion associates of PA with the investigated reagent ranges from 8.3×104 to 11.3×104 L mol–1 cm–1, depending on the extractant. Because only PA is extracted in an acidic medium with the investigated reagent, but both PA and DNP are extracted in an alkaline medium, it is possible to determine both substances in a mixture. Appropriate reaction conditions have been established. The absorbance of the colored extracts obeys Beers law in the range of 0.04–4.58 mg L–1 PA, 1.0–18.4 mg L–1 2,4-DNP and 1.2–14.7 mg L–1 2,6-DNP, respectively. The limit of detections, calculated from a blank test (n=10; P=0.95), are 0.05 mg L–1 PA, 0.9 mg L–1 (2,4-DNP), and 1.1 mg L–1 (2,6-DNP), respectively. 相似文献

We observe experimentally higher-order solitons in waveguide arrays with defocusing saturable nonlinearity. Such solitons can comprise several in-phase bright spots and are stable above a critical power threshold.
