Unusual reaction of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole with 1,3-diiodopropan-2-one

3-Amino-1,4-bis(2-oxopropyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazolium triiodide is the product of the reaction of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole with 1,3-diiodopropan-2-one in acetone in the absence of bases and phase-transfer catalysts. In dimethyl sulfoxide, conversely, a water soluble polyionene consisting of three aminotriazole rings bound by 1,3-dimethylenecarbonyl bridges is formed. The effect of the solvent on the alkylation of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole with 1,3-diiodopropan-2-one was studied.     

Synthesis and properties of fluorosilicon compounds for protection of cultural monuments from harmful environmental exposure

Methods for the synthesis of perfluorocarboxylic acid derivatives with reactive trialkoxysilyl groups soluble in organic and organofluorine (1,1,2-trichlorotrif1uoroethane, etc.) solvents have been developed. The contact angles of water and decalin, water absorption, resistance to freezing, and salt-resistance of limestone and plaster samples treated with these compounds were determined. Fluorosilicon organic compounds impart more hydro- and oleophobic properties to the protected surfaces than known organosilicon agents and reliably protect sculptures and architectural monuments from mold and algae deposition.     

Synthesis of ethynylorganosiloxanes

Conclusions Some acetylenic siloxanes of variable composition and structure were synthesized by the hydrolysis of organoethynylalkoxysilanes and their cohydrolysis with organochlorosilanes, which siloxanes are capable of entering into chemical reactions that are characteristic for acetylenic compounds.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 11, pp. 2541–2544, November, 1972.
