This article reports chemical stability studies of a gold film electrode coated with thin silicon oxide (SiOx) layers using electrochemical, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) techniques. Silica films with different thicknesses (d = 6.4, 9.7, 14.5, and 18.5 nm) were deposited using a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique (PECVD). For SiOx films with d >/= 18.5 nm, the electrochemical behavior is characteristic of a highly efficient barrier for a redox probe. SiOx films with thicknesses between 9.5 and 14.5 nm were found to be less efficient barriers for electron transfer. The Au/SiOx interface with 6.4 nm of SiOx, however, showed an enhanced steady-state current compared to that of the other films. The stability of this interface in solutions of different pH was investigated. Whereas a strongly basic solution led to a continuous dissolution of the SiOx interface, acidic treatment produced a more reticulated SiOx film and improved electrochemical behavior. The electrochemical results were corroborated by SPR measurements in real time and AFM studies.  相似文献

Sensors are increasingly present in the everyday life in widespread technological applications, and engineering smart systems able to simultaneously detect different physical quantities represents a scientific challenge. Taking advantage of the molecular chemistry realm that offers the possibility to finely adjust physical properties, it is demonstrated herein that the luminescent single-molecule magnet [Dy(acac)3(H2O)2]·H2O (acac = acetylacetonate) acts as a dual and synchronous thermometric/magnetic optical sensor in large ranges (10.0–180.0 K and up to ≈45 T) holding the promise to detect their variations in future devices.  相似文献

Porous coordination polymers are molecule-based materials presenting a high degree of tunability, which offer many advantages for targeted applications over conventional inorganic materials. This work demonstrates that the hydrophilic/hydrophobic character of Prussian blue analogues having a lipophilic feature may be tuned to optimize the gas adsorption properties. The role of the coordinatively unsaturated metal sites is emphasized through a combination of theoretical and experimental study of water, ethanol, and n-hexane adsorption.  相似文献

Macrocyclization of synthetic peptides by thioesterase (TE) domains excised from nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS) has been limited to peptides that contain TE-specific recognition elements. To alter substrate specificity of these enzymes by evolution efforts, macrocyclization has to be detected under high-throughput conditions. Here we describe a method to selectively detect cyclic peptides by fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Using this method, picomolar detection limits were easily realized, providing novel entry for kinetic studies of catalyzed macrocyclization. Application of this method also provides an ideal tool to track TE-mediated peptide cyclization in real time. The general utility of FRET-assisted detection of cyclopeptides was demonstrated for two cyclases, namely tyrocidine (Tyc) TE and calcium-dependent antibiotic (CDA) TE. For the latter cyclase, this approach was combined with site-directed affinity labeling, opening the possibility for high-throughput enzymatic screening.  相似文献

We study the rotation of a 87Rb Bose-Einstein condensate confined in a quadratic plus quartic potential. This trap configuration allows one to increase the rotation frequency of the gas above the trap frequency. In such a fast rotation regime we observe a dramatic change in the appearance of the quantum gas. The vortices which were easily detectable for a slower rotation become much less visible, and their surface density is well below the value expected for this rotation frequency domain. We discuss some possible tracks to account for this effect.  相似文献

In this paper a new approach for simultaneous 2D velocity and temperature measurements using phosphoric particles is presented. The phosphoric particles respond to the temperature changes in the flow while acting as tracers for velocity mapping. The temperature sensitive particles were seeded into a heated flow and were excited by a pulsed UV laser. The subsequent red shifted emission was detected and analyzed to infer temperature using calibration procedures for lifetime and emission spectra against temperature. The diameter of the temperature sensitive particles, usually in the range of 1–10 μm, makes them useful for velocity measurements using particle image velocimetry (PIV).
